Wishing YOU

glitter-graphics.com As for me....I'll be heading out to the hospital for my scheduled CAT Scan today. Hoping it will go without a glitch.....

My 'Visits' to the Doctor

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Uneven eyes . That's basically the reason why I had to go see a doctor last Wednesday. I actually wrote about my uneven eyes last September. At that time I thought my right eye was droopy because it closes slower than the left one. I figured it's my astigmatism or an outdated eyeglasses that's causing it so I wasn't worried much. I 'thought' it's getting better too and that since I am always in front of the computer, it just wouldn't go away. Fast forward to the last few weeks. In one of the many occasions I was 'staring' at myself in the mirror, I finally realized that the problem may not be my right eye but the LEFT one. I started feeling some discomfort on my left eye that's why I was guessing it's the one with the problem. After days of debating with myself [and the husband] if I should see a doctor or not, I made an appointment for last Wednesday. I didn't even know what kind of doctor I sho
Preparing for the Unexpected
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My scheduled CAT Scan today is moved to Monday. My husband is not happy about the one we went to yesterday for a couple of reasons. One of which is their policy of charging us an upfront fee which is outrageous. So he looked for another place where we can get the scan at much reasonable upfront fee...and he found one. The fee for the one we went to yesterday was 4x more expensive! Don't these people realize that we're in an economic crisis right now? Oh well, now they lost one customer. So here I am blogging and catching up with chores I wasn't able to do because of my doctor's appointments the past couple of days. It's a good thing I'm home because a friend called and she needed to talk to someone. It seems her job is in jeopardy because of the massive lay-offs going on. If she indeed gets the ax, she planning in taking a PMP exam preparation as soon as possible. She used to work as a project manager for a company back in the Philippine

Swing

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The little one is over the moon nowadays...and it's all because of the swing that Dad put in the backyard. She's been been wanting one but since it was too cold to use it the past few months, Dad had to wait for the weather to warm up a little bit. She didn't even know it was a swing he was putting until it was all done. Dad wanted to buy one from Lowe's or Home Depot and just place it in the backyard but they didn't have one that he liked so he bought some chains and a piece of wood and made a swing himself. It's now hanging in one of the big trees in the backyard. The little one is still a bit scared to get on it but she's getting the hang of it. I'm sure she'll be swinging away before long. Here she is giving it a try...
Busy Week
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What a week I've had. It's probably one of the most stressful week I've had in a long time that actually involved me. I mean I'm usually stressed about other people in my life. Anyway, like I've posted yesterday I had a doctor's appointment. It's actually my second one because I also had one on Wednesday. These are to 2 different doctors. And guess what, they still don't know what's wrong with me. I even had to go to the lab for some blood tests and an ultrasound. I have to go in again today for a CAT scan. Who knows what's next? Maybe they'll order me to have colon cleaning next week. Ugh! You know what's tough about all these? They still don't have a diagnosis as to what it is that's wrong with me. Oh well. I better do some chores that have been put off because of these appointments.

Save While You Shop...

Pretty dress, eh? I found this at Sears. The little one loves it because of the detailing on the dress as well the ribbon with flower around the waist. I was just browsing when she saw this dress. Now she wants a pink one as well. It's a good thing there is an ongoing sale right now at Sears so this dress and a lot like it are on a 40% off. Cool! At least I won’t break the bank even if we’re getting her some fancy looking dresses that she can wear in time for Easter. So this weekend, we may be heading out to visit the Sears near us and see what they have to offer. I read that they are having a 75%-80% off original prices on fall and winter apparel so I may just have to do some 'stocking up' on our fall and winter apparel for next winter. Mind you, the little one's change of wardrobe every season cost a small fortune. We have to get her new ones everytime because she's still growing. That means she can't wear the clothes she wear last winter for next winter. Any

Her First Plants...

Image
That's the very first 'sprout' that she found this morning! She sowed some Blue Texas Bonnet and Pink Petunias seeds about 2 weeks ago. She's been watering them religiously and watching them like a hawk! The 'hawk' got lucky this morning and saw the sprout. It was like she won the lotto or something.... Here are the 4 pots where she put the seeds. In a few days I'm sure more will be sprouting out so I better start thinking where we should plant them.

Chilly Day

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And the wind is not helping. We just came back about 2 hours ago from an appointment. What appointment? A doctor's appointment for me. I'll write more about it later on because the little one wants to go out in the yard to play. There's nothing much for her to do outside but run around and watch the squirrels and birds. Dad is planning in putting up a net so she can play kickball or soccer. He is also busy making her a swing at work but she doesn't know about it yet. I can't wait to see her face when she sees it. Anyway I'm scheduled to do laundry today but the appointment took longer than anticipated so laundry day will be tomorrow. Then Thursday will be another doctor's appointment. Sigh....
Monopoly
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not the game mind you. That's what my husband calls my 'taking over' the couch everytime I'm working on my laptop while watching TV. I can't blame him because I really do take the whole couch when I'm on it with my laptop because aside from me, I have the mouse taking one spot and a tissue box on another. So I really can see what he means. He still has his recliner and the other chair to sit on but he says he also wants to stay on the couch every now and then. So now, he's talking about getting me a table I can use to put the laptop and the mouse while I work on the couch. Not a bad idea but I'm actually thinking of asking him to set up some kind of a working area here on the living room so I won't have to sit on the couch when I work. I already started looking for office furniture so I know what to tell him when I bring up the idea. I also want to look for the furniture we still need for our home office. Something lik

It's Official!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My husband has gained weight. LOL! We actually know that already because of that little thing called 'weighing scale' and that preggy look [read: round belly] he's been sporting for the last 7 years... but it I thought it would be funny to share that his wedding ring is now a wee bit small that he had to take it off...again. Let me backtrack a little. During that busy period at work, he hurt his wedding ring finger not once but twice. The first time it happened, he didn't wear it for about a week or so. The day he put it back on, his finger got hurt again. The second one was much worse so the ring was off for weeks. Last night he decided to put it back on. When he called during lunch today, he said his ring got too tight he had to take it off. So now I tease him that he's officially 'hefty'.....bwahahahaha....
A Style Of Her OWN....
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is such a nice day today so we spent our morning doing some chores outside. The little one helped Dad clean his car while I went around the yard pulling out weeds. Yep, the neverending weed-pulling is still going on. We just got back in to have a bite then we’re heading off to the car wash then Lowe’s to look at some plants as well as get some gloves for me. My old ones are worn out already from too much weed pulling so I need a new pair. Right now, the little one is in the back porch watching the squirrels and birds that come in the backyard. Spring is definitely in the air already and how I wish it stays this way year round…but, it won’t. And since the weather is changing, we need to go shopping for clothes especially for our little one. Unlike us 'oldies', she has to have a change of wardrobe every season because she can’t wear what she wore last spring because she outgrew them already. She’s at that stage where she grows every other day

Kelly Clarkson's New Song

This is my favorite song to listen to at present. It's catchy. I got this video from You Tube of course. Here's " My Life Would Suck Without You "....

Spring IS H-E-R-E!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I should say 'spring/summer' because that's how it is here in the sunshine state. Summer is always a possibility so we never really get a solid 'spring' or 'winter' season because right in the middle of whatever season it, summer hits us. Anyway, as part of our plan for the summer, we are thinking of getting our very first patio set. Not too fancy set yet since we can't afford those. Just a simple one that we can use everytime the weather is good enough to spend outside...like right now. Anyway, maybe next weekend we can start looking around for that along with patio furniture covers to protect the set. We can't do it this weekend because my husband is at the shop meeting with their auditor who is also doing our personal taxes. I'm keeping my fat fingers [and toes] crossed that we get some tax refund so we can buy that patio set already. Ha!
Back from Hiatus...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So what have I been up to? Work, work and some more work. So even if I was on an 'update hiatus' in my blogs, I was still glued on my laptop the last few days. I just wanted to concentrate in getting the work done...and now it's done so I'm back to blogging, for now anyway. Because work is so unpredictable nowadays, I tried to snag as much as I can when it's available. I even had to stay up later than I usually do so my eyes are just so tired from being in front of the computer screen for long periods of time. The wrinkles! Ugh! But I have no choice. We have to work very doubly hard today to survive and just be thankful that unlike many others, I still have the privilege to work and earn some. As for the wrinkles around my eyes, I will just find the best eye cream out there that I can find. Hey, wrinkles happen even if I don't work as hard, right? They're part of life so I just have to deal with them.

I'm Here!

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Happy weekend! Life's been a bit hectic here. Work came in late yesterday and I've been trying to work as much as I can. Aside from working, I also had the pleasure of talking with my high school classmates via Skype . It's really great to talk to people I grew up with after all these years. It's so good to go down memory lane with them. We still have more 'skyping' lined up in the future because we're now busy getting ready for our Silver Jubilee...yes, 25 years since we graduated from high school. It's still up in the air whether I'll be able to attend it or not but I'm glad that we're having it because it made us reconnect with each other. Before I sign off here, let me just thank Madz for this: Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!
A Must See....
Image
I was literally speechless when I first saw a video where dolphins were recorded blowing bubbles through their blowholes. Not too long ago, a video was aired on ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson but I remember seeing it before then. I can’t remember the show where I saw it first but it still amazes me whenever I see how these dolphins make the bubbles. It’s so entertaining to see the dolphins have fun while they make them. They look like little kids having fun with toys. Watch! Isn’t that something? I don’t think I’ve seen dolphins up close and personal but that will soon change. One of our short-term plans is to visit Sea World in Orlando. This is in part for me and the husband but mainly for the little one. Just like a lot of kids her age, she is very much fascinated with animals especially dolphins. We went to a zoo in San Diego when she was 3 years old and she was of course in awe of all the live animals we came across with during that visit. We wanted to visit Sea World out the
Again! I got these 2 tags/awards from a few blogger friends. I have not been blogging as much as I used to so I've neglected to post them when they were first handed to me. So let me take this chance to thank ALL OF YOU who gave me these 2 tags! It's very much appreciated~
TGIF...again!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TGIF! Where did the week go? Don't blink or you might miss the weekend! I hope not. After weeks of being so busy at work, my husband can finally take a weekend off...fingers crossed. They already shipped the job they've been working on 16 hours a day. He's been coming home at a decent time for the past couple of days and I can see he's not stressed anymore, well, not 'that' stressed anymore anyway. Also, he is also able to exchange emails with the little one for the past 2 days which means he's using the computer again. As a matter of fact, he just mentioned that they need a compact flash for their work computer so he can transfer some of the files because it's getting real slow with all the 'junk' in it. Yep, I know he's not that stressed when he talks about these things. So 'yay'! He'll be home this weekend and that means he will be able to mow the grass. Yeah!

Missing My 'Nanay'

Image
It's been 9 years today since she passed. I've been thinking about her for days now thinking about the ' what ifs '. I know I can't dwell on those 'what ifs' but I can't help it everytime I think about her [and my Tatang]... which is more often than I care to admit. I've been told by a lot of my relatives, especially her siblings, and friends that I look like her. I'd like to think so too. But as the years go by, I've realized that our similarities don't end there. I am my mother in so many ways. I'm not sure if she'll be proud about that but I am certainly happy to be just like her in more ways than one. I know one day I'll see her again...but I wish she's still around so when I am at my weakest I can still run to her just like when I was a little girl.

I'm It.....got Tagged!

Image
In case the picture is not enough give-away, I got tagged by Kaye of RandomWAHMThoughts about my bag. Thanks Kaye! Here are the rules... 1.Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you can't go into your closet and pull out your favorite purse! We want to know what you carried today or the last time you left the house. 2. List how much it cost. And this is not to judge. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, we’d love to hear it. 3. Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you’re showing everyone your bag. That's my bag! It's a cross body bag that I bought about a year ago. I think it cost 50 bucks and I bought it online. I am not a bag person. If I can get away with it, I'd leave the house with just a wallet and for years, that's what I did...except when I was going to work. So now that I don't really go anywhere for work, I've

Diamond Necklace for the Taking....

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Through the years, I’ve accumulated a few pieces of jewelry that I bought myself. I gave away some of them but I also kept some that I’m planning to give our little one when she’s old enough. My mother didn’t have jewelry except for her watch and her wedding ring. I have no idea where her watch is now but I have her wedding ring. It’s not an expensive piece of jewelry because it’s only a simple gold band with a semi-precious stone. But with all the pieces of jewelry I have, that ring is the most precious for me. When I went overseas for the first to teach, that ring served as my security blanket because it made me feel safe and close to home simply because it’s my mother’s. During the first year I was away from home, the apartment I lived in was robbed while my roommate and I were in school. All of the pieces of jewelry I bought with my hard earned money got stolen. I think I lost 2 diamond sets of earrings and rings, necklaces and bracelets. Yes, those
Charge it to Experience
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During one of my husband’s business trips, he found a cell phone in the airport lounge. He did what he wants someone would have done if his cell phone gets lost…contact the owner of the phone. The guy was already in his point of destination and was staying in a hotel when my husband got a hold of him. He told my husband that his fiancée will be contacting us. She did contact us and she sounded really appreciative of what we’re doing. She emailed us where to send the phone and requested that we send the phone where it can be tracked which meant we had to pay extra for that service. She said she’ll reimburse us with the cost. Guess what? It’s now more than 6 months now and we’ve never heard back from her or her fiancé. I really don’t care about the money we spent sending them the phone back but it would have been nice if she or her fiancé let us know that the phone made it. I’m just amazed as to how ungrateful some people are sometimes. Oh well, I guess that’s o

Almost Over....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I can't believe the weekend is almost over here. It's been a very busy one again for hubby. He's working through the weekend so it's just the little one and me at home. He's still at work and just like yesterday, he'd probably be home just before the little one goes to bed. I can't wait until this job they're working on is shipped already. Since our weather here is great, I went to the backyard to take a look around. What do you know....it's full of weeds. I hate seeing them so I started pulling out what I could and guess what? I'm sore all over now! I can barely get off the couch. So that's how our weekend has been. How about yours?
Where Have I Been?
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nowhere. Ha! Home! Not in the mood for blogging. Just a little bit. I've been busy with other things...called life . I am also slowly but surely building my other blog that I've had for about a year but never got the chance to work on. It finally has a header...thanks to Cathy of: Hopefully I'll be able to divide my time between the 3 blogs...although I'm not sure how that's going to happen since I can barely update: & !!! So where will I find the time to attend to: Oh well! I guess that's human nature....never satisfied, eh? Please visit my other blog! T-H-A-N-K-S!!!!!! M-U-C-H !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yard Talk...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beautiful day today! It's probably in the low 70s and Mr. Sun is out the whole day. I originally planned in going out in the yard to do some weeding but work came. That of course took precedence over my 'obsession' with weeding. Maybe tomorrow. I really want to see all those weeds out of our yard....not possible though. My husband said that he might hire a professional landscaper to work on our yard. Yippeee! But that's just a plan. Anyway, our yard is practically bare as far as plants and trees are concerned. We do have plans of planting some plants as soon as it's not too cold anymore. We already have some plants picked out for the front of the house. The little one really wants to see flowers blooming on the flower beds so they are mostly that. At the backyard, we are planning in planting some fruit bearing like citrus trees that the Sunshine state is famous of. Our neighbor has an orange tree and the little one gets all envious that t
The Flu & A Certificate....
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The flu bug found us...I think. My husband has it...or something that's very similar to one anyway. He said he's sore all over, he has the sniffles that's why I think it's the flu that got him. The little one is bummed because she can't kiss or hug Dad. She knows the 'rhino virus' and how it spreads so she doesn't dare go 'that' near to Dad...and she doesn't like it one bit....but she knows better so she's trying her best to stay away. When she said goodnight earlier she just had to ask him how long until he's going to get better...lol. She got all excited when Dad said "on the fifth day"...whatever that means. Anyway, here's a certificate she made him on Sunday. It's a "Feel Better Certificate" according to her. Can you tell she can't wait for Dad to get well ASAP? Hopefully he gets better real soon. He still goes to work even if he's not feeling well. He has

Gloomy Sunday....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After days of great weather , we woke up with rain today. The temperature has been in the 50s but it feels like it's colder because of the wind. Added to the gloomy weather is the husband coming down with something. Yep, he is not feeling well... One of the guys that came to visit the shop on Thursday was sick. Hubby thinks he may have caught it. His immune system is probably down because of the almost 18-hour days he's been putting in for the last couple of weeks. So he's in bed most of the time today. He has the sniffles plus the body aches and pains. He's been taking some pills so that helps a little. They still have to finish a job in the coming days so him missing work is out of the question. I just hope that whatever hit him will go away so he can do what needs done at work.
