Is it SUMMER Yet???

With a car temperature of 102 degrees F? Yep, I think it's safe to say it is indeed summer. Of course that's only the temperature after leaving the car in the parking lot for about 2 hours in the middle of the day. It went down a few degrees lower...high 90s, after a few. Still, it was hot hot hot when we got in the car. I almost sprang out of my seat the second I sat down.

Aside from the high temps, we're also getting rain throughout the day. It usually comes late afternoon but today it started early. It's still drizzling actually...and the sun is out. Yep, that's our summer weather alright...rain AND shine at the same time. At least our plants/grass get the water they need especially when it gets really hot around here.

Nothing much happening around here except that the man of the house has started his flying lesson already. He still has a long way to go but he's bent in getting his license sooner or later. I don't know how long it will take to get it given his work schedule but I'm glad he's starting to take lessons already. He has been talking about this for quite a while now. Let's see who is getting a license first....hmmmm....

Shoe Aficionado....

Or should I say 'aficionada' since it's a she who actually likes shoes so much that I'm tagging her that term. On her birthday we actually got her 2 pairs of sneakers, a pair of sandals and a pair of flip-flops. That was barely  a month ago. Our shoe holder on the foyer is full...of her kicks! Well, it's for all of our shoes but she has the most in there. Her bedroom is also starting to look like a shoe store because of the boxes of shoes there. I decided to get an under the bed shoe holder to free up space in the shared shoe holder.

You would think that because of this she will slow down in wanting more pairs. Not quite. One pair she's always wanted is a pair of cowboy boots. I think she's been wanting them eversince she was about 5 years old. We haven't gotten her a pair for a couple of reasons. First, her feet are growing by the minute and we didn't want to spend the money on shoes that she'd only wear once or twice. Second, our weather is not really boots- friendly. But now that her feet seem to have stopped growing, I have started looking at Cowboy boots at Eli's Western Wear to see if we can finally get her a pair. I've seen quite a few pairs that I *think* she might like. Still, I'd rather she chooses the pair because she already has her own taste. I'm just hoping that once she picks a pair, her feet won't grow any bigger anymore or we will have a pair of cowboy boots that are way too big for me and too girly for Daddy. Ha!

Well...Hello There!

It's been a while. Where have I been and what have I been up to?

For one, I've been to Mississippi earlier this month. Actually, it's the whole family that traveled to MS. It wasn't a vacation by any means. We just accompanied the man of the house for a service call. It was a very tiring trip because we were on the road for most of it. It seems like we just went there to spend the night then drive back home. How long was the drive? It took us about 11 hours, one way. We left on a Monday morning and came back home Tuesday evening ~ around midnight. It's okay because we spent that time together so no worries.

After that whirlwind trip to MS we've been staying put at home. Although the weekend before last, my father and daughter tandem had a one of a kind experience. Both of them were able to ride a gyrocopter or gyroplane. Originally, it was only the Dad who was supposed to ride it. When he got off he said that maybe the little one can also do it one of these days. The pilot chimed in and said that he could actually take her up there to experience it right there and then. You would think our little one would be kinda' scared and say not now or something to that effect. Nope. She took him on his offer and up they went. As expected she had a blast while she was 500 feet off the ground in an open 'copter. Me on the other hand was on edge for the duration of the 'flight'. But she had fun and that's all that matters, eh? Oh...did I go as well? What are you? Crazy??? Of course....NOT! Maybe one day when the husband already has his own gyro. MAYBE...

Work has been a bit busy lately...not today though that's why I'm able to type away. But since coming back from our trip, it has picked up quite a bit. I'm not really sure why but I'm not complaining. I'm just hoping that it continues to be this way.

Anyhooo...that's about it for now. Have a great rest of the day....
