Our Little Bookworm...

One of the perks of being a stay at home mom is the chance of personally teaching our little girl everything. From spelling her first word to her reading that first book. Our little one started rather early in almost everything...that includes reading. On her first Christmas, we bought her alphabet building blocks and some books but the one that we believe helped her a lot in learning her alphabets and numbers were the rubber alphabets/letters that were put in the tub which she played with during her bath. She had them in her tub since that Christmas until she was way into her 3s. She could identify and sound them at 1 year old. She's not a genius [although Dad says she is, ya know, DAD?] but she's certainly ahead in a lot of aspects.

Here's a picture of her with the first 'real' book that she read and finished at age 3 and 4 months.

Pardon the picture...it's a scanned copy of one I took with a low-tech camera, the one that took pictures then see them after a month or so.

Here she is at age 4 going through her 'new' books - recycled - given to her by a friend who has 2 kids of his own. These books are now in her 'storage'...translation: under her bed...lol...

Buti pa si prinsesa mo mahilig sa books.. Paano ko kaya ma encourage is bulilit ko magbasa? he's 4 na pero di pa marunong magbasa other than his abc's and 1-20 numbers. also, he's more on drawing and coloring his books..Kse naman ang nanay hindi binabasahan ang anak eh :( complain din ng asawa ko sa akin yun.. kse siguro di ako nasanay, dahil sa pilipinas di ako binasahan ng nanay ko ng books :) thankfully I turned out good in school ehehehehe
