Fall has Fallen?

Much like 'Spring has Sprung', eh?

Here it's more like 'rainFALL' season instead of Fall season actually. This week it's mostly rainy in the forecast and so far, it's been accurate. Oh well, I guess even rainy season can be tardy sometimes, eh?

Moving on, I've been quite busy lately. Mostly researching, contacting people, etc. It's been pretty hectic I must say because we're trying to beat some kind of a deadline...and it's not even work related. It's very time consuming as well as physically and mentally draining. You would think it won't be as physically demanding since I'm doing most of it online but that can take a toll on you believe it or not. Well guess what...we decided to slow down and take our time. First, there is no sense in hurrying it up. I think rushing to get it done will only cost us some unnecessary stress as well money. We're trying to meet some demands that we initially agreed to. We now realize that those demands are probably baseless and yes, unnecessary to comply with. So Imma' just sit back and relax and let whatever it is I'm getting all stressed about take its course. Well, maybe with a little help from us of course.

In other news...out tread climber was picked up last weekend. I was kinda' sad to see it go but it has to. The recumbent bike is now in place and so far so good. When I say that I meant it's being put to good use by the one who needs it...not me. Aha! I'm quite disciplined when it comes to my morning routine that's why. I clock in between 40 to an hour on it while the little one does her normal 15 minutes every morning. Just enough to make her heart rate go a bit faster than normal. And finally, McG...he's been on it a few times this week starting last Sunday. I don't know how much time he spends on it and it doesn't matter to me...as long as he's using it regularly then I'm happy. I'm hoping it continues until we get the results we want. Wish US luck....yes, all of us...for different reasons. Toink!

Time for a Change

I'm one who is not really big on change. When I get comfortable with something I hate to get rid of it. I guess you can say I don't really like 'rocking the boat'. But sometimes change can also be good. And sometimes we just don't have a choice. We try to make the change for the greater good, right? Wow! It sounds dramatic doesn't it? LOL...it's not. I'm just being dramatic...haha.

Anyway, it's nothing life altering [or maybe it is?]. We actually decided to switch from this:

 ...to this!

Yep, a recumbent bike.

Before we had the Mobia treadclimber, we had this elliptical.

The elliptical machine worked fine with me but not with my other half. It's a bit small for him to actually use it comfortably so we decided to get the tread climber which to me was just way too expensive. But if it's for health reasons, then price is put aside. For a while it worked fine with him. But his back started bothering him after using it so he stopped using it. A few months ago he modified it by putting handle bars in front. I guess it didn't help [or did he even try using it after putting the bars? Not sure here]. A few weekends ago he brought up the idea of getting a stationary bike. I know he wants to go back to exercising so I said okay. I'm willing to adjust to a new equipment for as long as he's going to use it. Has he? Not as much as I would want him to but it's too soon to tell so I'll wait.

We still have the Mobia but it will be disposed of [maybe] this weekend since someone is interested in having it. Right now we have the bike in the living room. Hopefully when it's moved to where the Mobia is at the moment, someone here will start using it regularly or else...you know. As for me, I've been using the Mobia for more than 2 years now so I'm very used to it already. The last year and a half, I've been using it almost everyday for about an hour. So yeah it will be an adjustment for me to move from it to the bike. I've started using it this week and so far so good. I have some aches and pains now. I'm sure I'll get used to it in no time. I'm just hoping it'll serve its purpose...and that is to get someone here on it as soon as possible.

Comparing

It seems that's what I do now everytime I need to purchase something. Who can blame me when there are some many places now to choose from whenever we have to make a purchase. It doesn't really matter if it's clothes, appliances or even insurance policies. And it can't get any easier today. All we have to do now is go online to get a rate from this website then compare it with the rate of another website. We can actually compare as many prices or rates as we want depending on the free time we have on our hands. Since I stay at home in most days, I can do that all day. This is why I am sometimes tasked to do just that by my someone who shall not be named. Ha! Anyway, speaking of which I am on to my next 'mission' actually. What could that be? I am supposed to hunt for a cheaper car insurance. Our policy is up in about a month and we just got the renewal notice and it's jacked up by almost 50%. We rarely use it, just like our health insurance so I don't really know why they would raise the price but just like what the husband said, it's their loss because now we're looking for a different provider. So there!

Evaluated!

Done. Over. Passed with flying colors. Not me but the little one.

Yesterday was her annual evaluation. This is the 6th year we've been to her evaluator so she actually saw our little one grow up. She's very pleased with her progress. As always I was the one who was stressed the past couple of weeks that I've been having some acid reflux because of it. Hopefully it will now ease up since it's all been done. I also have to make some major decisions in the next few months. Aarrghhh!

Anyway, it's been a very interesting couple of weeks here. Some big developments as far as long term plans are concerned. Nothing is definite yet but if things go as planned there will be some big changes around here. Vague? I know. That's how I want it for now. Hopefully things will fall into place.

Summer is almost over. Well, the season is anyway. Here in our neck of the weeds, summer is a way of life since we feel it even during winter. Lately, it's also been raining in the late afternoon to early evening, like right now. But now that I think about it, there hasn't been a lot of rain this summer actually. I remember last year and the year before when it would rain for 3 straight days. I know because I would complain about it here. Our flower bed would actually flood. This year, not so much. But we had HAIL this year which we've never really had before...well, maybe a little a few years ago...like the size of rock salt. This year it was the size of quarters, some even bigger. What can I say, weather is getting weirder and weirder I'm afraid. I can only imagine how winter will be this year.

This weekend we're planning in visiting an art store that was recommended to the husband. We heard they offer some kind of an art class during the weekend. We think that little one will have fun attending a session but we'll see. Hopefully she'll like it enough to actually attend a class.

That's all for now. I can't think of anything else to post so I'll just end it here for now.

It's That Time...

...of the year again. Well, almost. I'm talking about the onslaught of festivities that are on the way. A few weeks ago a TV host actually mentioned that Christmas decorations were already up in some stores...and it's only early July. I think that's a bit early. Beside there are other festivities before Christmas. Anyway, we were walking around a strip of stores last weekend and one of the stores we passed by is decorated with Halloween stuff. The little one got all excited because she likes dressing up for Halloween. Last year she didn't really dress up although she donned a mask when we were walking around the mall. This year she said she wants to find something she can wear as well. So I'm now looking at department 56 halloween stuff hoping to find something for her. The thing is I'm actually finding some things I like because there are a lot of neat Halloween decors in this site. I have a couple of pumpkin lanterns already but I may just get some other Halloween stuff because the little one likes to decorate her little bedroom. I'm hoping I'll find some kind of a costume for her here as well.

Overhauled!

That's what happened with this blog. It seems the host for the personalized blog template I used to have expired. I checked one day and ...
