Late and Quick Post...

I've been away from the blogging world for most of the day today. I've been busy with a lot of things as usual...which is good.

There's been a lot of work in one company I work for so I'm taking advantage of it. My blogging has to be very limited if I want to make some 'moolah'...

Aside from that, the weather here has been rather crazy for the last few days. At around 4PM, [almost on the dot] for the last few days we get these really bad thunders and lightnings so I'm forced to shutdown my lappy for at least 2 hours.

I'm trying to do some hit backs as much as I can but if I missed your message or comment please pardon me. I'll try to get back on track in my blogging as soon as I establish some kind of a regular schedule.

So what are you up to today?? Us?? We're still up to no good....LOL! Nah, we're home of course. The little one is talking up a storm as usual. The big one...the hubby, just got back from his trip to the old house. He was supposed to pick up some pieces of furniture but that didn't happen. Why? It's raining hard in our old place...so he came back with whatever he can fit in the car. The trailer remained empty on his way back here.

As for me...can you guess? W-O-R-K-I-N-G!! Yay! I'm taking advantage of it as I'm sure it won't last forever. I am hoping it will, but it won't. It's also laundry day today but I'm done with that so now I'm here typing away while taking a break from the monotony of my work.

We don't have any plans today but to stay home. The husband is doing well now. I'm glad he's feeling his old self again. He still tries to pull his line: "I'm sick." every chance he gets... LOL...and everytime he says that now, all I can say is: "You will be if you don't stop saying it." or "You better stop or I'm going to HURT you!"...hahaha....yeah, goodluck with that, eh?

He's Out Mowing!!!!

The husband that is! You know, the one who could barely get out of bed for the last 3 days??? Yes, that one. I guess he's feeling a lot better that he decided to cut the grass that's been growing like weeds!! Oh yes, and weeds too.

Anyway, he told me this morning that he'd doing that and all I could do was stare at him and asked him if he's sure. He said he is so I didn't bother discouraging him. He knows his body more than I do, right?

He's done as I type this BUT he has plans to go to the other house to pick up some more of our stuff. Again, I'm not going to stop him. He'll stop as soon as he feels tired. Am I an uncaring wife? I don't think so. I can't tie him down, can I?

Seriously, he's just not used to doing nothing so as soon as he felt better, he had to do something.

Btw, our 4th of July was spent in the house as expected. I worked most of the day. The little one watched some TV after her morning school work. The husband watched the History Channel's Independence Day show....all about the boring stuff what else...LOL!

Easy and Fun...

When I started looking for ways to earn a living at home, one of the things I did doing surveys for market research. It was an easy and fun way to make some extra bucks since a lot of it can be done at my convenience. One of the companies I am a member of is Synovate. I think I’ve been panelist with them for 5 years already. I’ve been busy with a lot of things recently but I still try to do their surveys if I have the time. Like I said it’s a fun and easy way of making some extra cash.

Getting there...

But not quite yet. The husband is up and about today...kinda'. He says he's still feeling really ill but unlike yesterday, he got out of bed today. He even drove to work to attend to some stuff...just for a few minutes. He's even letting out some 'bad' air already if you know what I mean...so he's ALMOST back. He's using his being sick as an excuse to rip it out though..hmp!

It's odd seeing him sick. He's the type who's never chained down even if he's under the weather. This is the worst I've seen him so far...and it freaked me out a bit. I started thinking of the worst case scenario last night. Ya know, the 'what ifs'...! I keep thinking of who to call to drive us to the hospital if ever...sigh...

So yeah...now I'm thinking I should really learn how to drive. My friends told me....you'll get the 'motivation' to learn if one of your loved ones need you to drive them for an emergency. Yep, now I seem to have "THAT" motivation.

Should We or Shouldn't We?

Move to California that is. I have a few friends who reside in California. My husband actually considered [still is considering] moving out there so I can be closer to these friends. Our only concern is the higher cost of living compared to what we’re accustomed to. So I asked my friends there if everything is really out of this world. To my surprise, such is not the case. A friend of mine just recently got a California health insurance quote and it’s not much different to what we’re getting here. I know because we’re currently shopping for a more affordable family health coverage. Seeing the quotes my friend got made me think about moving to California again. So, should we or shouldn't we?

Simply S-W-E-E-T...

The husband stayed home today because of flu. The little one is always happiest when both of us are within her reach....meaning, both at home. This is why Sunday is her favorite day. If she can't bug me, there's another one to bug.

Today is a bit different though because Dad is sick so she couldn't play with him. Nevertheless, she's happy because she can see Dad anytime her little heart desires.

The whole day, she's been really quiet...letting Dad get the rest that he needs. Every now and then, I'd catch her taking a peek just to get a glimpse of Dad. If he goes to the bathroom at the time she peeks, she gets worried asking where Dad is.

Everytime I had to bring Dad something, or just to check on him, she would be right behind me. I have the water, she has the pills and a bright smile. If I pat Dad's head, she'd pat his arm or his leg. Before we leave the room she always says "I love you, Dad. Feel better tomorrow, ok?"...

When I took a shower, she stayed on the bed laying down beside Dad. Quietly watching him as he sleeps. When I came out of the shower that's what she was doing.

I went to check my emails, she stayed on the bed with Dad. I had to come get her so she could go to bed herself. She tried to convince me to let her stay there. Of course I said no. She settled with a long hug, a pat on his head, a kiss and her line: "I love you Daddy. Feel better tomorrow, ok?"

So yeah...we have one sweet little girl here with us. A chatterbox alright but the sweetest chatterbox at that.

Chicken Soup

That's what I'm attempting to make right at this moment. I've never made chicken soup the way they make it here but I'm trying it tonight for my sick 'bebe'...yep, the husband.

He stayed in bed the whole day....that's all. All I have to do is to make the little chatterbox is not making too much noise as I want the Dad to fully recover. The little one is doing a good job for the most part. A couple of times she forgot but she quickly recovered...LOL!

I have to get off for now. I'll see how I can make this 'chicken soup' taste good. If it's only tinola then it would have been easy...

The Day Ahead....

...will be a busy one as always. This time though, it's going to be a bit different as the husband is home sick. Sigh...

He left his usual time this morning but came back home a few hours later. Now when he does that it only can only mean one thing...he's really SICK. I don't think he's ever done that in our 7 years of marriage. Oh well, there's always a first time, right?

When he came back home, the little one was already sleeping on our bed...yep, she does that if she wakes up while Daddy is leaving for work. So the husband decided to stay in her bedroom instead.

As soon the little one woke up I told her to be quiet as Daddy is sleeping in her bedroom. She smiled! I had to tell her that Dad is sick that's why he's home...the smile went away...just a little bit.

So what did she do?? This:

As soon as she hopped off the bed she went to her art materials and started cutting and writing. She showed it to me right after making...of course I had to take pictures, right?

The Dad hasn't seen the card yet but I'm sure he'll be very happy when he sees it. The little one is trying her very best to be quiet....hard task for her but she's doing a good job so far. I am busy doing laundry and cleaning. I am planning of vacuuming but it looks like that has to wait.

So I agree Malou...tayong mga Madir eh walang karapatang magkasakit. In sickness and in health, we are always in demand and busy. The little girl actually asked me a few times: "Who's going to take care of you when you're sick?" Hmm...good question! She actually answered it: "Me! I'm big enough to take care of you Mom!"....

That alone makes me stop worrying about being sick myself. Ha!

A 'sick' entry and a Tag in One....

Yep, "sick" or ill is the word of the day here in our household. The 3 of us here are not in our best elements today. The husband started feeling ill yesterday. He's been queasy and has been nursing a cold as well. He thinks it's probably the water but we're not sure about that. He likes the taste of our tap water here so he's hoping it's not the water.

And just now, the little one started complaining of a headache and upset stomach. I'm not sure how bad it is but she took Tylenol and is now in the bedroom watching TV with Daddy.

Me? I'm much better compared to yesterday...allergy wise that is. The upset tummy is still there but it's manageable. I'm a bit busy with work so I am blogging later than usual.

Anyway, Mommy Ruby passed on this 'Chalice' to me to cheer me up...LOL. Can I sell it? Nah...thanks Mommy Ruby for the tag and the thought.

Allergy Attack....

NEED I SAY MORE?????????????????????????????

All I've been doing the whole day today is S-N-E-E-Z-E!!! Blow my nose!!! Wipe it!!! Only to sneeze again! So I decided to take my allergy pills more than I should. The result?? I was drowsy half the time...and I was still sneezing after taking them! Still am actually...

So my plan of being productive today?? It was just that: A PLAN!

I am going to sign off here now and try to go to sleep early. The 2 extra hours I put in last night [to do some work] cost me a whole day of misery. So I won't be taking any chances tonight.

I off to be ladies and gents. Thanks much for those who came by. I promise to visit you all tomorrow...unless my allergy has other plans. Hmp!

Just Wanna' Say.....

Just leaving a short note here to wish one and all a great week! I hope it's going to be one productive week ahead of us!

I'll be working today...I think, as it's long overdue. I planned on working during the weekend but I just dilly-dollied so I ended up trying to put in some hours last night as my last minute attempt to be productive. Bad me, eh? Boo hoo! As a result....my allergy is 'on' again! Ugh!

Home Alone....

For a couple of hours anyway. The husband took the little one shopping, well mostly grocery shopping, because she wants a DVD and Dad does not know which one. I am not feeling well so I decided to stay behind. Right now I am here trying to catch up on some work and some household chores.

We have no plan of going anywhere today so it's going to be one lazy Sunday for us. Not sure what the husband's plan is but I'm sure he has something planned.

Our house is still one big empty space....LOL! Yep, we have not bought the furniture [living room and dining room stuff] yet because we can't seem to find what we want. We're not in a hurry thought since we're surviving without them. We have have been using our foldable tables and chairs and it's working out great. Maybe this week we'll find what we're looking for.

In general, we're settled already as we're getting the sleep we need unlike the first few nights. The little one still wakes up in the middle of the night but she goes back to sleep afterwards so it's all good. I am hoping she'd start sleeping throughout the night in the coming days.

Anyway, I'll be doing my hop-hop a bit later. I hope you're all having a great day/night!

Weekend...

...again! As usual it's going to be a bit busy around here. I already did the vacuuming and I'm almost done with the laundry. Yay! I also sorted the boxes after boxes of toys in the little one's room. That alone almost took the whole morning.

I am planning to do some work this afternoon. I have not done any 'paid work' since we moved in here. The work is not that much anyway so I chose to just do the things needed done here. But today, some was released so I'd probably do some. We'll see.

The husband is outside finishing the mowing right now. After that he has to rake the cut grass as it's a lot...as in A LOT! He had to refuel his mower because he had to go around more than once to get all the grass. That's how tall the grass got and it's really thick.

That's basically how our weekend will go...busy. I will be in and out of here again today. I did my hopping yesterday so I'd only be doing some hit backs today.

In the meantime, here's my little one's 'depiction' of Mom!??! She did it last night on her Magna Doodle and it says Happy Birthday even if it's not my birthday...haha! Her Magna Doodle is one of her most used toys around here as she likes to draw a lot. Mothers out there...get one for your little ones as this piece of toy is very useful.

Since our business with the bank is done [for now], I am hoping that I will be back blogging in full force tomorrow. Well, maybe not in 'full force' but with a lot more force than today, eh? I still have a lot of other things to do but I'd be in the house most of the time so I can check in every now and then.

10 Years Younger

If you asked me 10 or so years ago if I will ever go through any kind of a procedure to improve my looks, my answer would have been a big N-O! Still A....

That's me!!! We've been busy with a lot of things since yesterday that I was only able to visit a few blogs. Actually, I only visited a few the whole week through! Soweee!!!

Because of my being a busy bee, I can only squeeze in one post a day. I have not been doing any work [paid work that is] at all for the past few days which bites because we need the $$$ right now as we are having a higher mortgage [2 of them as the old house is still in the market..ugh!]

We closed with the bank today for this new house. I'm not happy with the way it went but it's our best bet at the moment. A lot of things had happened between us and this bank that everything they do right now just rubs me the wrong way. We are weighing our options right now and will take it from there.

I hope you're all having a great week...better than mine anyway. It's almost TGIF....yay!?! I guess it's a "Yay" for us because we are somehow 'getting on' with our lives after all the 'chaos' of moving and all that comes with it.

Triple P...is it Down?

Hmm...not sure if it's me or my lappy or something else but is triple P's server down? I've been trying to access it but it's not loading.

Earlier, it's server cannot be found. Now, the error: Domain Name Mismatch is coming up. What is that? Has there been a change while I was offline yesterday? But it was working fine this afternoon.

Does anybody know the real deal here? I know of someone who couldn't access the site either so it may not be me after all....but who knows.

I'm going to bed...

Forced Leave???

That's what happened yesterday...I was on forced-leave! Just like most forced-leave, it's an unpaid one. Hmmpp!

What happened? The cord/plug on my laptop broke. Actually, it's been hanging by a thread [literally] but it only gave in yesterday...of all days. It's been like that for months but it didn't break while we were at the old house [where we have 2 more computers that I can use]. It broke when we got here...while the other computers are still in the old house so no spare to use! Great timing, eh?

The husband was 4 hours away yesterday doing a service call so I called him. He said that we would have to get a replacement for the cord this weekend...WHAT?????? That's like forever...but what can I do? I just thought of convincing him to get the other computers from the other house but I didn't hold my breath on that.

So how come I'm blogging now? Well, McGyver came over....I mean, came home...LOL. Yep, my very own McGyver opened up the adapter and connected the wires inside and voila...it's fixed...for now. He reminded me that it's really fragile right now so I shouldn't drag it with the lappy....opppsss! I guess he knew that's how the wires in the adapter broke. *wink*

Anyway, yesterday was not spent in vain though. My little one and I did some weeding outside...on the flower beds in front of the house! Yay! It's almost done. Now all we have to do is get some flowers to plant on them...yippee! I wonder if I need another 'forced-leave' to do the planting.

So that's why I was not anywhere near your blogs yesterday. I'll try to 'roam' around today to say hi to all of you. For the meantime, I have to get off here for now as we have some unfinished business to attend to...the 'not-so-fun' stuff. Please send us some good vibes! Thanks much! Mwah!

Sleep Deprived....

These 2 pictures are probably the best way to describe how I am feeling right now. Actually, it's how WE were feeling the whole day.

Yep, we didn't get a good night sleep on our very first night here in our new home...all 3 of us. I expected that. I am usually 'namamahay' so I know I won't have a good night sleep for the first 3 or so nights here.

I'm expecting the little one to be restless on her first few nights here as well. Last night she woke up and went to our bedroom...at 2 AM, twice. The first time she came in there she couldn't figure out which side of the bed I was on so she left because she didn't want to wake Daddy up...but she came back and very softly went: "Mom" and wait for me to get up...LOL. Since I was not really sleeping I heard her. Unbeknown to us, the husband was also awake.

So today we were all tired. The husband went to work but left early since it's slow at work anyway. He went straight from work to Walmart to do the grocery shopping. I asked him to pick up us some rotisserie chicken for our dinner. Why? Because yours truly was lazy to make dinner...haha.

The groceries are still sitting on the counter waiting to be put away. But that can wait...for now I need to sign off and follow the two to lalaland....I hope they're there.
