~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have 8 nieces and nephews courtesy of my 3 brothers. I have more nieces though than nephews. For a while there, my brothers were getting worried that they will not be able to produce a son who will continue the legacy of the family...LOL. Well, all 3 of them have a son each so that problem is solved. When I left, these nieces and nephews were either still in elementary or were not born yet. I've seen them grow in pictures only. Now thanks to technology, I also see them via the web cam. Most of them are in that awkward teenage age. You know that stage where proactiv is one's best friend? That's where they are. Modesty aside though, they are good looking kids. My husband kept saying that one of my nephews should try modeling. That tickled my nephew that he couldn't smiling while we were talking to him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sent, finally! Yep, I already shipped my balikbayan box after weeks of letting it sit on the foyer because I couldn't decide what I should put in it. I had no plans of sending a 20"x17"x23" box back home but I did...and it all started because of a digital camera I was requested to purchase here by a niece. As it happened, the camera was only the first of the many things I had to shop for online. Most of my spare time the past few weeks was spent looking for deals on lotions, colognes, hip hop clothing , pounds of chocolates and a million other things so I could send that humongous box to its final destination. Honestly, it wasn't fun doing that [scouting the web for some things I can buy]. It's not because I had to spend money to do that but it's taxing to buy stuff for people I have not seen in almost 10 years. My nephews and nieces were just little ones when I left. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Let’s face it having a Bad Credit is something like a death sentence in the US. It’s sad but it’s a reality here. I had friends who came here years ahead of me who told me that building a good credit history is a must if one wants to survive here. I didn’t quite believe them honestly, until I got here. On my first year here, my husband started convincing me to have a credit card so I can have a credit history but I stood my ground and refused. But when I learned that a lack of [good] credit history may cost us our dream of having our house built, I had to give in. My husband is pretty much the one who is monitoring our credit. He has to since I know nothing about it. He runs our credit report regularly and he makes it a point to file a Credit Report Dispute if he sees any discrepancy. So far, everything is going good with both our credit. Thanks to him, of course. His sister is a different story though. Her credit was a mess. Sadly, her not so...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's what I am right now. A nephew just graduated from medical school a few weeks ago. Obviously, I couldn't attend but I made sure to call him to say congratulations. My brother is very proud of his son, of course. He told me he was surprised when the graduates were called 'doctors' during the graduation rites. He didn't know they are called doctors already even if they haven't passed the board exam yet. My nephew sounded so relieved to finally graduate. He had a few trials while in med school so graduating is a big achievement for him. I only spoke with him for a few minutes but he asked me a favor. He wants me to look for a tuxedo for him. He said he has to attend a certain formal function so he needs one. I asked why he just won't rent one. He said he may need a tuxedo more often now that he's almost a doctor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Time surely flies. Our little one just celebrated her 7 th birthday not too long ago. I still can’t believe she’s no longer that itty bitty baby that was so dependent on me. I know it will only be faster from now on so I’m bracing myself for that. Now, if her turning 7 is not enough of a reminder of how time flies, my niece told me that her brother will be graduating from medical school a few weeks from now. The same little boy I helped taking care of when he was a baby is now getting ready to become a doctor. I’m happy he’s about to embark on his lifelong dream but I can’t help but be reminded that I am indeed getting old. Ugh! I also have to start looking for a graduation gift for him. I’ve already narrowed down my choices to a few but I’m leaning more and more in getting him one of the rotary watches I’ve come across online. Yep, a watch. Doctors need a watch, right? The husband has been home since Christmas so we've been hanging around the house most of the time. I'm online most of the time but I just didn't have the time to really sit down and write something. The little one has been enjoying her 'loots' that 'Santa' brought her. She's been using her iPod a lot as well as the Digital Arts & Crafts. We're taking advantage of her iPod as we've been downloading loads of educational stuff on it. As for me, I've been enjoying my Christmas present a lot as well. I've been doing most of my online stuff on it now. I originally didn't want to since I'm afraid a virus may invade it...I hope not. So it's the day after thanksgiving, how is it so far? I remember when I was younger, the day after the holiday was usually very quiet, somber, almost sad. It's probably because of all the energy spent or just because it's time to clean up or maybe because it's time to go back to reality. Who knows, right? Anyway, our thanksgiving went well. Like I mentioned before, any celebration only became a 'big deal' here in our house because of our little girl....and that alone makes me and my husband excited about it. We planned on spending the day with just the three of us.....threesomeness is the word another Juliana used....and that's exactly what we did. We didn't have the 'big bird' itself instead we had lobsters and shrimps.
