Home Security

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Living in a house with a GE Home security system is far cry from the house I grew up in. I remember growing up in a place where people rarely locked their doors much less having a security system installed. Our other house that we stayed in for 7 years didn’t have a security system. An experience I had in that house was actually the reason why we chose to have a security system installed here in the new house. I blogged about it here when it happened but let me tell you again that one night that c0nvince me that some kind of a security system at home is a good idea. It happened a few weeks before we moved in this house. I was getting ready to go bed when everything happened. I was unplugging my computer when I saw 2 teenagers heading our way. I didn’t take my eyes off them because it looked like they were going up our driveway by the kitchen...and I was right. One was the lookout while the other one tried to pry open our car. I honestly didn’t k...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After weeks of waiting, one of the little one’s tooth finally fell out. It’s the 5 th tooth that she lost so far so we still have a long way to go. The “tooth fairy” made her appearance of course, although she almost forgot....again! Anyway, I expected her to wake up at dawn because she’s really excited about getting some coins so I braced myself into waking up really early. She didn’t, thank goodness. As soon as she woke up she ran to our bedroom yelling she got the coins. Her exact words were: I lost a tooth and now I’m rich! She’s rich! It’s a good thing we have the GE Home security system installed here in the house so we don’t have to worry about her ‘wealth & fortune’, eh? I wonder what we can do with all the money she has. Ha! Seriously though, I’m glad that we decided to have a GE Home security system installed when we moved in here. It seems that home invasion is getting more and more rampant nowadays. It seems that some people are resor...

Peace of Mind

A few weeks before moving into our house now, two young men tried to burglarize our car parked in front of the old house. They didn’t succeed because I was still awake when they tried. I was able to scare them away by turning on the light in front of our house. That was probably one of the scariest nights of my life. The next day, my husband started researching on different home security systems we can put in this house we’re residing in right now. We didn’t have any kind of a security system in the old house so I shiver everytime I think about that incident. What if I wasn't awake and they also tried to get in the house? What could have happened? These are only some of the questions I keep playing in my mind. Needless to say I have become paranoid and jumps at the slightest noise I hear at night and during the day. I cannot wait until we get all the things we need for our security system. Then and only then will I be able to have a complete peace of mind.
