The Law of Return....

Since it's almost the start of a new year [at least here in the West since they already started it in the East], I decided to post this Law of Return. May it serve like Food for Thoughts that we can ponder upon as the new year begins.

Have a safe New Year's Eve and a Prosperous 2008 to one and all!!!!

This piece came from Jokes of the Day email I get.

Whatever you give away today, or think or say or do, will multiply about tenfold, and then return to you. It may not come immediately nor from the obvious source, but the law applies unfailingly through some invisible force.

Whatever you feel about another, be it love or hate or passion, will surely bounce right back at you in some clear or secret fashion. If you speak about someone a word of praise or two, soon tens of other people will speak kind words to you.

Our thoughts are products of the soul, not secrets of the brain, kind ones bring us happiness, petty ones untold pain. Giving works as surely as reflections in a mirror, if hate you send, hate you'll get back, but loving brings love nearer.

Remember as you start this day and duty crowds your mind, that kindness comes so quickly back to those who first are kind. Let that thought and this one direct you through each day... The only things we ever keep, are the things we give away.

More and more buzz is being created about different online casinos. Of course, the buzz is usually a positive one. Something along the line of: This online casino is the best of all online casinos. So if somebody wants to try and play games in an online casino, he or she would have to weed through all these online casinos with that say they are the best there is. Instead of playing the games, time is spent just trying to look for the best one. Why not cut the chase and visit Pro360. It has all the things you need if you’re looking for an online casino. Well, it’s not a casino site but it can lead you to an online casino that will best suit your needs.

What does Pro360 do then? It reviews hundreds of casinos then rates them according to different important things like trust factor and bonuses. They rank the more than 3000 casinos worldwide so you can see which ranks first. Since players look for different things in a casino, Pro360 makes it a point to have things like bonus structures, games like slots and graphics in their reviews. So if want to try an online casino, pass by Pro360 first so you can spend your time playing instead of looking for an online casino.

Pics by the Little One....

Like I mentioned in some of my Christmas/post Christmas entries, we gave the little girl her very own digital camera. Well, since she got the camera she's been on a mission. Take the pictures of everything and anything imaginable. Here are 3 of her work. Tell me what you think. Do we have a future professional photog in the house?

The first pic is a blow-up of a her drawing of Mickey Mouse. Can you find Mickey? LOL...

This second one is that same Mickey drawing but this time she decided to include the whole frame in the shot.
This third pic is of her new 'teddy'. She's been wanting a brown one since who knows when. I have a white one which is the same size as this one but she wants a brown one. I guess it's more realistic since we normally see brown ones in pictures...hehe

Total Audio Converter

Technology is a good thing. Really, it is. I just don’t like the complexity that goes with it. Sure the different developments are good but I just can’t wrap my mind around some of the developments sometimes like converting a WAV file into an MP3. Well, my husband can do that for me but he’s not always at my disposal because he is working after all. So where to do I find something that does Total Audio Converter so I wouldn’t have to depend on him so much? Are they affordable? Yes, they are. I found one that’s less than 20 bucks and it does everything. has a Total Audio Converter that’s very affordable. It converts any audio file that you may have to the audio format that you want it to be. It even rips CD and you can even use it if you want to listen to songs. That means that you can listen to the file before or after you convert it so you won’t be converting the wrong one. My husband has songs which he had from the 90s. He has been wanting to convert them to MP3 but he couldn’t find a converter that is compatible with his ancient music and to the more current audio files. He doesn't want to buy one that he can only use for his old audio files but something that's also compatible to the more current ones. I’d probably get him this Total Audio Converter as his birthday present. I may just hit the jackpot on this. I’m sure that after I show him what this Total Audio Converter can do, I can probably ask him for the moon and he wouldn’t say a peep.

Traditions for the New Year...

My katukayo, Lucel Juliana, handed me down this time bomb...I mean time-sensitive tag. So now I'm trying to beat the deadline so it won't explode on my hands. I have to get rid of it ASAP...don't want to be starting my 2008 with BANG....literally. Hehe....thanks, Tuks.

Let me tag: Darlene, Emma, Nancy, Roselle, Texas Sweetie-Anne, Ritchiela, Michelle and Norm. Ladies, come over here and get this before the time is up. Let's see who will have this one explode in her care....bwa hahaha....

The Big Question: What are some of your new year’s good luck traditions?

Rule: Copy the person and persons’ names that sent it to you and add your own at the bottom of the list. It really helps to build community.

Lets start it here!

*My mom used to collect some coins and when the new year comes she put the coins in a bowl and shake it to create sounds. She said its good luck for money throughout the year. And also wearing dotted dresses on new year don’t know why. CC/chalyza/keep

*My old folks always told us to avoid spending money on new years day. They said, once you spend on the first day of the year, you like to spend the rest of the year.Behind d Scenes of ME/ Retchel’s Pure Life/ /A little bit of me

*I grew up believing that if you have some money on your pocket (whatever you’re wearing) come New Year’s eve it will ensure steady flow of income throughout the year. The other belief is that the main door of the house should be wide open come New Year’s eve so that good luck will be ushered in. Juliana of MY WORLD and JULIANA’S LAIR.

* A lot actually. Let me count the ways. (1) My mother had to have new 'dusters' [house clothes?] with dots on them....symbolizing - money! Ahem! When I started working, I was the one that bought her the 'dusters' for her so I did a little bit of 'altering' and bought her one with dots and one with rectangular shapes on them - ya' bills..hehe. (2) Just like tukayo, we were also told that having money in our pocket is goodluck. (3) When we were younger, we used to tie up tin cans. We would go around the neighborhood making noises because that would mean our year will be filled with happy noises..haha. (4) Round fruits - 12 of them I think - have to be in the middle of the media noche table. I can go on and on but I will stop here because I have some other things to do. This is me: Juliana of Pinay Wahm and Teacher's Corner.

Blog of the "Year" I mean "Month" Award...

What a nice surprise to wake wake up to. A blogger friend whose blog makes me hungry everytime I visit, D'Cooking Mudra aka C.A. "tque", handed me this 'blog of the month' award. So I went an extra mile and awarded ME the Blog of the Year....hehe. Seriously, I want to thank D'Cooking Mudra for this award. It's a nice way to end my 2007.

Now, who wants this award? You? You? How about YOU? Just snag this and let me know so I can take it away....I meant....I can take a peek.

Smorty...pays you to BLOG

As the year 2007 comes to an end, I can’t help but think of all the good things that happened to me. Yes, the good things. There are bad things as well but what good will it do if I keep thinking about the bad things. I want to dwell on the good instead of the bad. So let me start with one that not only gives me personal and intellectual satisfaction but also some financial gains. It is this year that I discovered about blog advertising. I have been reading blogs since the early part of the year but it’s only mid year that I contemplated in starting my own. I am thankful to a lot of people for being there when I started it because I really did not have any idea what I was doing.

For those who are not familiar with it. This thing called blog advertising is when ordinary bloggers like yours truly get the chance to write opinions on products or services and gets paid for it. This what a lot of bloggers do now…they get paid to blog. It’s really quite simple. You start a blog then maintain for a few weeks by writing entries which are somehow relevant and voila, Smorty will give you a chance to earn some cash. So if you have a blog and you’ve been blogging for quite a while, say 3 months, why don’t you try to blog for money? I’m sure you have something to say about a lot of products so why not get paid for it, right? Visit Smorty and see what I’m saying. I'm sure you will be impressed with what they have to offer. You can thank me later on.

Hannah Montana Craze????

There is no doubt that "Hannah Montana"a.k.a. Miley Cyrus, is probably the flavor of the season especially to young kids - tweens and teens alike. But to lie about something as serious as 'death' just to score some tickets is just going over the top.

I just read in the news today, that a family of a 6-year old wrote an essay about her father dying in Iraq! The kicker? It was all made up - it's all a big fat LIE in other words - so the girl can win the contest sponsored by a store - Club Libby Lu. The grand prize was a makeover which included a blond Hannah Montana wig and the most coveted concert ticket of year, Hannah Montana tickets. Well, the girl WON but upon doing some investigating, it was learned that no such person died in Iraq, much less the father of the 6-year old girl.

Now, I'm all for doing everything I can to make our little girl happey...but making up a story about her FATHER DYING is just beyond comprehension. Needless to say, the prizes were all taken away from the 'winner' and awarded them instead to somebody else. How about that for breaking your little girl's heart? To whoever coined this ridiculous idea, it probably serves you right. Unfortunately, a 6 year old had to be involved. Next time, be may just make you win.

New England Patriots Made History

Yes, they did. They, New England Patriots, beat the New York Giants [38-35] and became part of sports history with a standing of 16-0 during the regular season. This is the second time that a team wrapped up the season [well, before the playoffs anyway] with no loss. In 1972, Miami Dolphins [unfortunately, one of the teams this season with few wins] set this same record of no loss , 14 - 0, the Dolphins eventually went to win the SuperBowl that year. Now, Brady's mission is to do the same the Superbowl XLII . It's not like he's never done it before. He has 3 rings already so earning another one is a big possibility.

It was a very close game as the Giants played one of their best games ever. Tom Brady had to go back in the game to be able to make the win. It was well worth it though because they did what only 1 team accomplished so far, a regular season of only wins and no losses. They are the first though to have a record of 16 wins because in 1972, there are only 14 games during the regular season which the Miami Dolphins all won.

So to the Pats, New England Patriots, congratulations. Goodluck to you in the playoffs. Let's hope you play with one my teams during SuperBowl. Hep, hep...hurray!

1800 No Drugs...Helping Eliminate Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Reading the news has always been a part of my daily routine eversince I was in college. It just kind of stuck with me after taking a class in Current Events. I read all sorts of news from Entertainment to Politics to the local news. The one news I really don’t want to come across with is the news about someone committing a crime because he or she is intoxicated or high on something. A good example would be those who are caught driving under the influence. They not only put themselves in danger but also those who are on the road with them. From what I have been reading, in America alone, 23 Million people are in need of treatment for some form of a substance abuse but less than 10% of these abusers actually seek the help they need. Why is that when there is drug treatment available to them? Because some people just wouldn’t admit that they have any substance abuse problem.

I know because I have immediate family members who battled either drug or alcohol addiction or both. Let me tell you, this disease becomes really scary when it hits close to home. We wanted to help but at the time, help was the last thing a family member of mine wanted. So even if we wanted him to enter an alcohol rehab or a drug rehab center, it was just not feasible because the person involved wouldn’t admit that he had some substance abuse problems. Fortunately [or unfortunately however one looks at it], something life-threatening happened which opened his eyes so he got off the alcohol and drug without going in any alcohol rehab center.

My personal experience, somehow, has a happy ending. But not all those who have substance abuse problems are as "lucky" as we are. Way too many people either die or get hurt because of alcohol or drug addiction. So everyone must be united in fighting this disease. If you know someone, a friend, a family member or even just someone you’re only acquainted with, needs help, refer them to This place will help the person by looking for a drug rehab or an alcohol rehab that is suitable to the needs of the person involved. They are open day in day out all year-round so they can be reached anytime and anywhere. Professionals are waiting to help, so do them a favor and see what this place has to offer. Who knows, with that one call you will make, the next life you will be saving is somebody close to you.

Mobile Advertising???

Hmm..interesting. After blog advertising, now comes Mobile Advertising. Yes, advertising using your cellphone. Well, this is still very much into its beginning stages but it has potentials, don't you think? They are saying that 80% of Americans alone, have cellphones so I won't be surprised if this so-called Mobile Advertising actually explodes in a few months. I guess I would have to activate my cellphone again so I can take part on this new 'thing' in town.

How does it work? Well, right now a wine company offers discounts to their products if you snap and send them a picture of of their ads in newspapers. And a company called, SnapTell Inc. is the one helping different merchants on doing this kind of advertising. Simple eh? So, are you in or are you out? Me? Not quite sure yet. I'll see where it leads then maybe, just maybe, I will join in. Fair enough?

Asteroid to Hit Mars in January 2008?

Remember this post I did a few days ago about the possibility that Mars will be hit by an asteroid in January 2008? Well, the chance of the asteroid hitting Mars is now increased by 4%! Last week, the asteroid known as nondescript 2007 WD5 had a chance of 1-in -75 to hit Mars but just this week the odds are increased to 1-in-25. Now that is a big chance that Mars will have an impact on January 30, 2008. Exciting? Probably.

Some people are actually thrilled or excited while hoping that the cosmic smash happens as predicted. As long as it has no impact to our dear Earth, then it's okay. I don't think those who are excited about this cosmic event will be as excited if the asteroid is actually hitting our home.

Cheap and Good Quality Ink at Inkers

More often than not, when a computer is in the house, a printer is not too far away. If printers were very expensive before, nowadays most of them are cheap, that is if they don’t come free with the computer. If it’s cheap or free, then it would be a good thing, right? Not quite. The real kicker happens when you ran out of ink. The branded inks cost too much most of the time that it would probably be better if you just buy another printer. But what would you do with the printers that you will accumulate? You probably don’t have to resort in buying printers instead of buying ink. You see, there is way in getting ink at a much cheaper price compared to the branded products and the quality of it is just as good as the more expensive ones.

Inkers has the inkjet cartridges that you may need for your printer or multi-purpose printer, copier, scanner and fax machine. That’s what we have actually, a multifunctione one. When we ran out of ink the first time, we looked in the stores for the ink we needed. I almost passed out because of the unbelievable price they have on the ink and toner. So my husband decided to go online and look for a much better deal…and he found one. Now we don’t have to worry about paying too much for the ink for our printer/copier/fax machine. We also don’t have to worry about the products from inkers because they have a 100% guarantee against defects for 1 whole year. That's not all there is to it, if we’re not satisfied with their product, we can just return it within 30 days with absolutely no questions asked. So if you ever need ink or ink cartridges, check I’m sure they have what you need for your printers foa fraction of the cost you pay at the store.

Yeah...Santa Got Me Something after All....

Earlier today someone knocked on the door. I was not expecting any deliveries because I did not order anything and the mail man is too early to be knocking on my door. I didn't open the box right away because I couldn't find as to who it's for. So I called the husband and asked him if he placed any order at Zappos, and his answer? MAYBE. Lol....isn't that a safe answer? Anyway, he asked me to open the box and see what's inside. Well, as soon as I opened the box and saw the shoebox inside - FRYE - I started shrieking....hehe. Yep, he ordered the sandals I am wanting for quite a while now. I even made an entry in my Teacher's Corner blog about the sandals aptly titled: Sandals in my Wishlist. I didn't expect to get anything since we had no plans of givinge each other anything for Christmas because of the new house that will be built anytime now so it's really a pleasant surprise.

He got me the Frye Lola Zigzag sandals... from Zappos. Yippee! The first pic are my daughter's feet and second set are mine...It won't be long before she can actually wear my shoes...

Corfu Island is a Place to Visit...

On Christmas day, while we're watching “A Christmas Story”, my husband was telling me how much he really wants to go on a vacation in the near future. It’s been years since we went on one and it’s not even a real vacation because it was spent visiting friends in another state. So we were both in agreement that the next time we go on a vacation, it would be a real vacation. It will be where we will relax and do some sightseeing as well. This is only 100% conceivable if we go to a place where we don’t know anyone so we won’t feel obligated to visit anyone. We can do the visiting some other time. So a vacation here in the states is not what we’re planning in doing.

So where are going? We have some places in mind and one of them is Greece. Why Greece? Why not? Just by reading about this country makes it very enticing. Aside from that, my husband wants to satisfy his curiosity about this place. Now, I know that Athens is probably the most famous city there. But have you heard about Corfu? It’s another city in Greece that a lot of tourists go visit. I think it’s going to be the ideal place for us because there are hotels in Corfu that are very affordable…just what we are looking for. And with the travel guide of Corfu island provided by Fantastic Greece, it would be easy for us to go around the island and do what we want to do during the entire vacation. I'm sure that we will find a Corfu hotel that will be perfect for us in case we want to stay indoor for a day or so.

Now all we have to do is put our affairs in order and make sure everything is in place before going on a vacation that we really, really need. We don’t have to worry about Corfu accommodation because it’s all done for us. If only we can find a place to fix our schedule for us before we can go on a trip, it’s going to be a perfect life.

Benazir Bhutto was Assasinated!

Benazir Bhutto, a former Pakistan Prime Minister was assasinated minutes after she addressed thousands of her supporters. She was in the car already leaving the venue when her supporters at the gate started chanting their support for her. So she came out of the vehicle to acknowledge them. Tha's when an assassin shot her in the neck and body then blew himself up. Here's a picture of her waving at her supporters minutes before she was gunned down.

Personally, I had a case of the deja vu when I read this news. Bhutto just returned to Pakistan on October 18, 2007 from an 8-year exile. Now, isn't that something similar to what happened to Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino in 1983? Ninoy Aquino was assassinated on his way back to the Philippines from 3 years of self-imposed exile here in the states....while he was still on the plane that brought him home for the last time. Aquino's assassination eventually brought down the 20-year Marcos regime and catapulting his wife's, Cory Aquino, win for Presidency thus making her the first woman Philippine president. Would Benazir Bhutto's assassination do the same with the present Pakistan President? That we have to wait and see.

Santa was [still is] in the House!!!!

Yes, Santa did not leave the building...hehe. Here she is right after opening all her 'loots'. She's a wee bit camera shy...not! I posted a picture of her new camera below. Guess what's her favorite 'subject' for her shots??? Look below and you will see.....

Yes....her very own face. She probably has about 10 of her own face in her camera. She just gets the kick out of it....LOL. And no, she's not allowed to take my picture when I'm in my moo moo....

Diamonds and Rolex....Girls Best Friends!!!

My husband complains that it is very hard to buy me gifts for any occasion so he would usually tell me to just look for whatever I want and tell him about it or just order it and he’ll pay for it. For some, that may seem to be so not romantic but I have no problem with it. Right now, I have not chosen anything that can be qualified as a family heirloom like some kind of an estate diamond jewelry but one day, I would want to own a few pieces and I may just start with this set of emerald bracelet and necklace.

I am planning on passing this to my daughter in the future. Considering how elegant and pretty this kind of jewelry is, at Gray and Sons, it is sold at a very affordable price. Aside from their estate jewelry, they also sell rolex watches. These are pre-owned but they are restored at mint conditions so they really look like they are brand new. I have always wanted to own one but I just couldn’t afford a brand new one. But with Gray and Sons, my life-long wish of owning one may just become a reality. I am actually eyeing this one.

I have no plans of owning a lot of estate jewelry or rolex watches but I have an older friend who has collected quite a few over the years. I was talking to her on the phone before Christmas and she mentioned that she’s looking for places that sell jewelry, pre-owned jewelry where she can sell some of her prized possession. I guess I have just the place for her. Next time she calls, I can direct her to Gray and Sons. I’m sure she will get a good deal for them. She may just end up parting with more than she wants to part with.

It's the Day after Christmas....

So it's the day after Christmas...what's everyone up to today? My hubby is back at work so it's just me and our little one here again. I'm still blogging [didn't really take a break] and our litte girl just finished her morning school works. She's now busy tending to her 'sick''s running a fever so she made some "soup" to make it feel better better...aha!!!

She got this new digital camera for a Christmas present and as of 12 noon today, she already took about 200 pics....inside the house! I am posting some of her 'precious pics' here which she took yesterday.

Here's her new toy.....the battery is almost gone but she's still snapping away.
Some of her 'loots'....a Vtec educational computer and her Raggedy Ann tea set. The Barbie computer is her old one. She's mastered almost all of the things there so we got her the Vtec which has more stuff in it.
The last 2 pics are of the 'pumpkin bread' I baked yesterday for dinner...of course she had to take the before and after.
There ya go....I'll be posting some more later on. When she becomes a famous photog [hopefully not a paparazzi], you can say that you were one of the "few" who saw her first 'creations'...LOL.

Cash Advance at Your Fingertips....

The season of giving is over. All the excitement about the holiday season is slowly going down. For some, the reality of overspending is now starting to sink in. Unfortunately, Christmas season is really the time that people tend to overspend. Who can blame them when every store imaginable has a sale going on during the holiday season? Everyone gets caught in the moment so to speak. Unfortunately, as soon as the holiday cheer is over, the post holiday fear starts.

Questions we didn’t think of asking ourselves when shopping start to creep up on us…like: How will I pay for all these bills from my Christmas shopping spree? For some the answer may come easier than others. Borrow money from your friends and family, maybe? Or going to those money lending services near you? I personally don’t want to do neither. I would rather find a place online where I can get a payday loan.

I just don’t have the courage in asking people I know for a loan or getting in a long line of people who are in the same boat as I am and taking the chance of being recognized. So the best place for me to be is a where I can get cash advance without all the hassles I mentioned…where else but online! This way, there is no need for me to leave my house. I can do everything online and have the money I need deposited directly to my checking account. It’s that simple. With Perfect Cash Advance, I can even join their cash advance affiliate program. That means they don't only lend me the money I need, I can even make money with them. How cool is that? So if you’re one of those who are having short term monetary emergencies, go to, find out how they can help.

An Australian Trip is in the Works...

One of the places that my husband wants to visit someday is Australia. He is very much interested in seeing the different places there like Melbourne and Perth that’s always being advertised. I have not been in Australia myself but I had some co-teachers who are Australian. They advised me that if and when I visit their country, I may want to find Melbourne Accommodation or Perth Accommodation other than hotels. My former roommate suggested I look into serviced apartments instead especially if I have family with me. So when my husband mentioned his future plans of visiting the “Down Under”, I told him about the serviced apartment like Astor apartments. He really likes the idea of staying in a serviced apartment like the ones below since it would be like a home away from home.

If and when the time comes that we make it in Australia, it would probably for about a month or so. It won’t just be a week long stay because it’s going to be a once in every 10 years trip, so we will take advantage of the chance and go to as many places as we can afford. That being said, aside from Perth and Melbourne, we’re also looking into Brisbane and/or Adelaide. That means we also have to look into Brisbane Accommodation as well as Adelaide Accommodation. If it were just me and him, a hotel room would probably work out but since we have a little one now, we want to find accommodations where she will not feel like she's not home. This is why we are really leaning towards serviced apartments now. Why not, right? Being away from home is hard enough, so why not find accommodations that feel like home!

Award Time....

Merry Christmas to me!!! So I was checking out the blogs of my friends who visited me while I was snoozing away. Well, being the night owl that she is, Ms. Roselle was busy handing out this award to her friends while I was in Lalala Land...."Your Blog is a Treasure!!", then my Lola Tess also handed me this just now! Really now, eh? Kidding...I know my blog is a treasure. Gosh, if I'm paid for every minute I spend on this blog, I would be millionaire over and over again. Isn't that right, Ms. Roselle and Lola Tess?? Anyway, thanks much to you for the compliment. If only those "you know what" [clue: it starts with "P" and ends with a "P"] see what you see in my blog....then I'd probably be making the millions I'm supposed to be making. Ha!
Since it's the season of giving, let me give it to you all my friends. Please grab it and put it on your blogs then let me know you have it up so I can take a peek. Okie dokie? Happy Holidays!!!

The Bourne Ultimatum

Finally, after waiting for months, I was able to watch "The Bourne Ultimatum". This film and "Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix" are probably the top 2 films I really wanted to see and now, I've seen them. Yay!

I've read reviews of this film and just like any other film, it had some good and bad reviews. But the good reviews definitely outnumbered the not so good ones....and now I can see why. As expected, the film is full of action. Since Bourne Ultimatum is the 'last of the trilogy Bourne book' that Robert Ludlum wrote, a lot of the questions left hanging in the first 2 were answered in this film. Like his real name and why his memory was erased. Some characters from the first 2 films were cast also so it's not too hard to figure out who's who in the film.

Is this really the last in the Bourne series? For now, maybe. In 2004, a book a book titled "Bourne Legacy" was published. It was not written by Robert Ludlum himself but by Eric Van Lustbader. Another one titled: "Bourne Betrayal" was published this year, 2007 by the same writer. Both books are sequels to the Bourne Series and were of course inspired by the 3 original books. So it's not really a question of IF there will be another's just a question of WHEN... and would Matt Damon reprise his role as Jason Bourne? That I have to see!

Mailboxes Galore....

When I decided to pursue my masters degree in Education, I had to quit my full time teaching job. To continue making money while going to school, I decided to become a freelance tutor where I had to go to my students’ houses to do the tutoring. The areas I covered are gated communities so they had big fancy houses. One of the first things I see is n the residences are the mailboxes. Some are located right in front of their manicured lawn while some are attached on the wall by the front door and some are attached on the gate. It seemed like the mailboxes they chose for their houses is some kind of a statement…something like of a representation of themselves.

Now that we are about to have a new house, I really don’t like to use the generic mailboxes that we see around here in our area now. I am looking at some residential mailboxes that will look just right in the neighborhood that we are moving in. Here are a couple of the ones we’re looking at right now.

Aside from moving into a new neighborhood, my husband’s business location would also move near to where our new house will be. Right now they are just renting a small place and they don’t really have a mailbox so the mailman hand them the mails personally. But once everything is settled in, he’s planning in getting a bigger space which means their new place will need a new mailbox, a secured one. So while we’re looking at some residential mailboxes, he’s also looking into different commercial mailboxes. Good thing there is a place like Mailbox Ixchange we can actually choose what we want. They have a wide variety of both residential and commercial mailboxes, affordable mailboxes at that. So now we don't have to worry about mailboxes anymore because I think we found what we're looking for.

Ready for Christmas???

It seems the answer to that question may differ from one person to another. When I was younger, being ready for Christmas was having a new dress with some new shoes so I would be ready come time to go around the neighborhood collecting 'aginaldo'. When I got a bit older it changed a little bit. It was being able to finish the 'nine dawn masses' or the misa de gallo. So it became more spiritual [religious maybe?]. I was always excited to attend them...and finishing the 9 masses was always an accomplishment.

Nowadays, it seems that the meaning of Christmas I grew up believing in is no longer in existence in a lot of people's lives. When you ask someone now if she/he is ready for Christmas, more often than not the answer would be...No! Why? Because the first thing that comes to mind is the 'unfinished shopping'. Sad but true. Hopefully, this is just temporary and people would make a turn around and start to realize that the season is not only about gift and santa but something deeper than that.

How about you, are you ready for Christmas?

Giving is Better than Receiving...

Christmas is the season of giving. This is one very popular saying that seems to work during the holiday season. So during the season, we see a lot of people donating toys, money, food and their time to some worthy causes. You even see celebrities go to places serving food to the homeless. This is all good of course. But should giving be only done during the holiday season? Unfortunately, it seems to be the trend. It doesn’t have to be though. That’s why Boat Angel is around. This is an organization that accepts Charity Boat Donations which then sells the boats in Ebay to benefit some people who are in need of help through out the year all over the world.

The money they make from selling the boats is used to produce Christian’s Children Animations on DVDs like this one.

What do they do with these DVDs they produce? They send them as Free DVDs to any children that may want them. And when they say free, it’s really free including the shipping and handling. Now that’s giving, no strings attached whatsoever. So if you or anyone you know has a boat that is not needed anymore, visit Boat Angels. Your Boat Donations may just save a life or two.

Like another Recall is what we need...

This time it's not a vaccine but something that we all Remember the nationwide spinach broo haha?? Yes, there is another recall...this time canned green beans. Just what we need. NOT!! Let me quote the article in Yahoo News so as not to write the wrong information here:

New Era Canning Company said it was recalling 171 cases of GFS Fancy Blue Lake Cut Green Beans with the lot code 19H7FL. Each case contained six cans in 6-pound, 5-ounce sizes. The canned green beans were distributed to foodservice customers in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, a company statement said. They were sold through GFS Marketplace stores in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. The beans may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause life-threatening illness or death, the company said. No illnesses have been reported to date.

How I wish I'm back in a place where we plant our own veggies so that we don't deal with all these "scare". It seems that in the past year or so, all they do is recall everything. From toys, to food to vaccines. What's next?

The Beauty of Space...Outer Space that is...

My husband is very much into the Science Channel [and History Channel and the Discovery Channel...and the....should I go on? Nah]. Anyway, there are times that I would watch with him and it just never fails to amaze me how beautiful the outer space is. It may not happen in this lifetime, but I know that someday someone will be able to actually go in one of those planets to check it out.

As I was browsing Yahoo today, I came across these pictures. They're not new pictures but they are still breathtaking. In the news, they are saying that Mars may just be hit by an asteroid next month, January 30 to be exact. The asteroid, 2007WD5, is very similar to the one that hit Siberia in 1908 which had the power of a 15-megaton of nuclear bomb thus wiping 60 Million trees!! Wow!
Anyway, here's a picture of Mars, the planet that glows. This pic wast taken Dec. 18.

This picture is a a binary-star, or two-star, system, called HD 113766.

This third picture is Saturn in 3 different views. Isn't it pretty?

Bad Credit Offers

Saying that having a bad credit is a nightmare is an understatement. Unfortunately, a lot of people are in this situation. As if having a bad credit is not enough, those who have it can’t seem to get ahead financially. It’s like being in a quicksand, it seems that the more you try to wiggle out of it, the deeper you get buried. So how can someone who has bad credit get back on his or her feet? Well, the first and probably the most important step is finding help as soon as possible. Instead of getting more loans to cover up the other loans, one who is in this situation should a go to a new consumer resource called

A lot of credit companies are actually in the waiting for those people who are filing for bankruptcy. This is because those who filed for bankruptcy are the most vulnerable. So they are barraged with numerous offers of credit from these companies. Sadly, some people fall for it therefore making their situation worse. At, one is given choices of different companies that offer bad credit. This way one can choose the company that best fits his or her needs.

So if you’re one of those who have bad credit, hold your horses before applying for any credit card offers in the mail. Get online and visit and read all about Credit Repair & Debt Relief and see what you can do yourself in building your life back up.

Well, thanks much to Sweet Darlene and Sweet Cora, now I can say that I have been on a train...a virtual one. What are the chances that 2 "Sweet" Ladies would let me tag along their Choo Choo trains. So to you Sweets Darlene and Cora, thanks for the ride!

Let me tag some of my dear blogger fwens....Norm, Roselle, Abby, Lucel, Juliana, Denz and Ritchelle.

The rule: When you get tagged, you have to add your name below the person who tagged you and by doing so you are letting the list grow.

Need to Sell Your House????

When we decided to buy a new house some years ago, the real estate industry is at its best so we were very confident that once the new house is finished, we would not have any problem in selling our current house. But as I have been mentioning here in my blog, our original builder filed for bankruptcy leaving us hanging by a thread. Unfortunatel, it was all downhill from there.

The real estate industry since then went down so I’m not sure anymore what will happen with our current place when time comes that we need to sell it. So we’ve been reading and researching on the real estate business. I thought that it’s only in the states that home buyers are having difficulties. I didn’t know that home buyers in the UK are also in the same predicament.

Yes, the real estate in the UK and us are probably in the same boat but home buyers in the UK like England or Scotland have the upper hand because they have Home Buyer Financial Solutions to help them. With this company, those who want to sell their house can get cash for their property quickly rather than wait for solicitor or real estate agents. So if you’re in the UK and you’re asking yourself the question: “How can I sell my house?” My advice would be, go to Better Value Group and your question will be answered to your satisfaction.

Follow -Up on the Hib Vaccine Recall

Last week, I think, I posted in my other blog Teacher's Corner, about the recall of a Common Infant Vaccine for Hib. Now CDC is recommending that doctors delay in giving the booster shots for this vaccine until the supply for it improves. Here's a part of the news from Yahoo:

The CDC, in consultation with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians, now recommends health care providers temporarily delay routine Hib vaccine booster doses typically given at age 12 and 15 months until the vaccine supply improves.

Although those children who are at high risk with Hib should not stop. So if you have a child scheduled for the booster shot, make sure to contact your doctor before your appointment so you can plan on the next step.

If you're wondering what Hib is, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention it used to be the leading cause of bacterial meningitis in children under 5. So it's really important for infants to get this vaccine.

A Unique Way to Let Them Know

Having a baby is almost always a thrill for couples. Understandably, these parents would want to share the birth of their baby or babies in unique ways. Good for these parents nowadays because they can do their Baby Announcements in a very unique way with the help of Something like this one:

How cute is that? So if you are looking for something different in doing your Birth Announcements, visit this site. I am pretty confident you will be able to find something unique to share the exciting news to friends and family.

Harry Potter and Bourne Ultimatum

Since I don't have the chance to go to the movies, I make it a point to get the DVDs of the ones I really like.Of course, Harry Potter series is on top of my list. I've read all the books so I know what's in the movies more or less but it's still exciting to see the movie version because of all the cool things they show in the film like the fictional game of Quidditch. Anyway, I got to see the last installment of the HP Series. I like it but it's not as exciting as the others maybe because it's a grown up version already and they don't have the Quidditch game in this one. Oh well, maybe in the next 2 there will be but I don't recall reading the game anymore in the last 2 books but I maybe I just forgot. Here's Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix Cover Page.

As for the Bourne series, I already have the DVD of the latest installment Bourne Ultimatum, BUT I'm forbiddent, yes FORBIDDEN, to watch it alone. You see, I had the mistake of telling hubby earlier that I'm about to watch it and he said that he's planning to watch it WITH ME...awwww! LOL. So I decided to put it on hold and wait till the weekend to see about suspense, huh? I also read the book versions of Bourne in the 1990s. So I'm also familiar with the plot of the movies but I can't really remember a lot of it since it's been a while since I read them.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw in something about my latest acquisitions here...hehe. I will be posting more about Bourne Ultimatum as soon as I finish watching it.

Furnace Filters

We are in Florida so both our air conditioner and our heater work non-stop during the year. I am an allergy sufferer so I am always sniffing day in day out. This is why an effective air filter is vital to me. But even if I don’t have allergies, we are well aware that a Furnace Filter is important to keep the air quality in our house healthy.

Since furnace filters are important to us, we are always looking for that one that will stand to the test. Good thing I found this place called Web Products, Inc. because they have different choices for Furnace Filters that we can choose from. So if you’re like us who’s always looking for the best furnace filters out there, check their site. You may just find the filter you need.

For YOU Men Out there...

A Mens-Only Weight Loss Program...

A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 10 lb. weight loss program. The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, 19 year old babe with a sign around her neck.

She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company. The sign reads, 'If you can catch me, I'm yours.' Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later huffing and puffing, he finally gives up.
The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens. On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 10 lbs. as promised.
He calls the company and orders their 5-day/20 pound program.
The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing a skimpy running outfit, running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, 'If you catch me, I'm yours.' Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and he does his best, but no such luck. So for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in better and better shape.

Much to his delight on the fifth day when he weighs himself, he discovers that he has lost another 20 lbs. as promised. He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/50 pound program'Are you sure?' asks the representative on the phone. 'This is our most rigorous program.''Absolutely,' he replies, 'I haven't felt this good in years.'

The next day there's a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds a huge muscular guy standing there wearing nothing but pink running shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, 'If I catch you, you're mine.' He lost 63 pounds that week.

Medical Assistant Training Schools

One of my sisters in law is a dental hygienist. She’s been licensed for a number of years now and from what she told me, she actually attended an online school that offers medical assistant programs. That means that she didn’t have to leave her house in order to get her degree. Nowadays, there are a lot of online schools that offer different courses in the medical field but there are still many regular schools that do the same thing.

Since there are a lot of medical assistant schools across the country, it’s a little tricky to find the right school for someone who wants to pursue a career in this field. This is where Medical Assistant Training Schools comes in. How? By providing interested students with the information about Medical Assistant schools that best fits a person’s schedule or demands. They have all the vital information for both online and campus healthcare schools. Since they have information for a lot of schools, they also have a vast of information when it comes to medical assistant training programs.

So if you are a mother, a father, or just someone who wants to pursue a degree in this field but is too busy to do the research yourself, check Medical Assistant Training Schools and see the different medical assistant programs they have waiting for you. You would be surprised how it easy it will be since they have everything you can possibly need.

Charice Pempengco in Ellen Show....

Here's our very own, Charice Pempengco, at the Ellen Show showing and once again proving to the world how talented Filipinos are. Watch this clip and enjoy. She actually sang a 2nd song at the end of the show and it was good as well.

I already wrote something about this in my Teacher's Corner Blog....and I thought I would just let it go. But everywhere I go online, especially Yahoo News which is my primary source of news, this story is just hogging the news. Just in Yahoo, there's about 4 news about it 3 of them have the same thing in them, just 3 different headlines. What am I talking about???

Jamie Lynn Spears says she's pregnant !!!
Okay...who is she??? She's the sister of the infamous Britney Spears...and she's only 16 years old. Now, I am not condoning what she's done but why is she in the news this much??? Is there nothing else to report? But like I mention in my other blog, I just hope they cancel her show that young girls who idolize her follow.
Oh well, I guess it's a slow day just like in the blogging world right now.

Classic Filipino Line...

This would have to be one of the most immortal lines yet from any Filipino movie:

Oo, inaamin ko. Sila ay mga yakal, lawaan, apitong at narra. At kami ay saging lang. Pero maghanap kayo ng puno sa buong Pilipinas, saging lang ang may puso... Saging lang ay may puso! Saging lang!

- Mark Lapid, from the movie, "Apoy sa Dibdib ng Samar"

Sponsored Reviews Affilate Fee

Yep...I just got paid by Sponsored Reviews because someone used the link I have here in my blog to get there. So whoever you are, thanks for dropping by my blog and making me earn a little of moola.

For those of you who still don't know what Sponsored Reviews is, it's a place where bloggers, like me, go to bid on advertisements. They have a lot, and I mean A LOT, of advertisements in their site that one can choose from. If the advertiser like what they see in your blog, they will then ask you to write your review about their products or services. This is probably one of the things I like best about SR, the chance of choosing whatever tickles my fancy.

Another thing I like about Sponsored Reviews is their payment system. No waiting for a month to get paid. Once you finish the review and is submitted to them, the payment is already reflected in your paymen details. Once they see that your review meets all the criteria set by the advertiser, you will be paid for that cycle. A very good example of how simple their payment scheme is what happened today. Today is the day that I'm supposed to be paid. It just so happened that I also finished a few reviews for them today. So when they paid me this afternoon, the reviews I did today are paid already! That fast.

So if you're not yet part of Sponsored Reviews, go to their site and join now. They don't require that your blog is 90 days old. As long as it has something of relevance, they will approve you. Once you're approved, you can register your blogs and bid right away. How hard can that be?

Hawaii Car Rental

Not too long ago, I mentioned in one of my posts how a lot of people in a forum I frequent are considering Hawaii as a place to go either on a vacation or even a possible place of retirement. While some others are thinking of retiring there, I personally would just like to go there for a much needed vacation. Now if you are like me when going on a vacation anywhere, you would try to make sure that everything is taken cared of including your mode of transportation once you get in your destination. So if my family and I go on that Hawaii vacation that I am wanting right now, I won’t wait until the last minute to get a Hawaii Car Rental.

There are a lot of car rental companies out there, but if you need a Hawaii Car Rental where you don’t have to pay anything until you arrive in Hawaii, try This means that you can keep your money until you’re there. As a matter of fact, as soon as you reserve a car rental, you will receive a confirmation number without any credit card payment. Aside from that, there are no additional fees for extra drivers and no fee for young drivers as well. Now, that's a lot of money saved.

So if you want to take a vacation in Hawaii like me and my family, make sure you make a Hawaii Car Rental with the one that offers the lowest rates in Hawaii, They not only offer the lowest price out there but they will make sure that your Hawaii vacation is a stress-free one.

Not Quite in my elements today..

Well, I thought it was the claritin I took that's giving me the body 'jitters'. I took it this morning but I'm still not feeling fine so I guess I may be going down with something...or maybe I need to sleep earlier tonight since that usually fixes whatever I'm feeling. I hope it's not any kind of bug. Christmas and being down with the flu is just not fun together. I'll try and rest for a little while and I'll see you all when I see you.

For all those that dropped by, my heartfelt appreciation. I will try to make it to your sites as soon as I feel a bit better.

Nighty nite for now.

African Safari Trips...

Back when I was still teaching in an international school overseas, I had 3 co-teachers who are from South Africa. Since we came from different parts of the world, we would spend hours just talking about our respective countries. They even invited me to go on a South African Safari trip with them. They told me that once I see what their country has to offer I would go back there again and again.

Unfortunately, we went our separate ways before any of our plans materialized. Two of them went back home and one stayed overseas. Every now and then I still get emails from them asking me when I will be going there. Well, the curiosity they planted in me about their country as well as the African continent itself just didn’t go away so maybe one day. My curiosity with this place coupled with all the good things I’ve been reading about African Safari Holidays still make me want to go on a safari and witness in person what beauty this place has to offer. I even read that more and more people as well as celebrities choose to go there for a vacation or trip.

So maybe one of these days I will go. I will even consider going on Botswana Safari Holidays . With Magical Globe around, I don’t even have to plan my itinerary because they have complete itinerary ready depending on what I want to do during the trip.

Happy Birthday Brad....

...from yours truly, Mrs. J. Pitt-Bull. LOL...sorry can't resist. I just read in Just Jared that Mr. Pitt just turned 44 today. So this is for you Lola's the birthday boy from the online magazine Just Jared.

Salsa Dance Craze

The salsa dance is probably one of the most famous dances worldwide. From someone who cannot really dance, I envy all those who can dance but even more those that can do salsa dance. Whenever I see this dance on TV I can’t help but watch it. Aside from the eye-catching outfit, the fancy footwork in salsa always amazes me. So it does not surprise me that people from all over the world joined in world salsa championships like the one held in Florida not too long ago.

So if you are a salsa dance fan or just someone who wants to be amazed with what this dance offers, visit Salsa Crazy and learn everything about this dance and the latest news about it.

UK Holidays can be a Chrismas Get-Away

During the past few years, something really odd is happening everytime the Christmas season comes around. It used to be that people get really excited when this season is approaching. But now, it’s like a lot of people are dreading even the idea of Christmas. Basing it from what I have been reading, pressure is probably the culprit on this change of heart. It seems that contrary to what used to be the practice where Christmas was solely for family gathering, a time for relaxing and being happy with loved ones, nowadays, Christmas is all about gifts and pressures for many to go over the top. So what can one do to avoid this, well why not try something different this year…go on UK Holidays. Yes, go on a trip.

This seems to be the choice of many families now. Why not when there are of different places where people of all ages can enjoy the UK Holidays together? Instead of slaving it in the kitchen only to end up with a tired and unhappy family, you can just sit back and relaxed this time with your family. There are a lot of things to enjoy at Haven Holidays that even the kids will enjoy.

So if you’re up to a change and want to celebrate an environmentally friendly holidays, try UK Holidays. This may be the break you just need to recharge.
