Ready for some Football?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eversince I got married, I have only watched one sport and one sport alone…football. Why? Because my husband is a football fanatic. At first I didn’t think I will ever get the hang of it as I did not have a clue as to how this game is played. But I was wrong. After a season of football, I started liking this game. I read and write about football during the NFL season. I even have my personal favorites to win the Superbowl and I am also looking for some free nfl picks online just to spice it up a little bit. Needless to say, my husband is quite happy I actually learned to love the game that he is crazy about.
Let's Talk Football...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Football season is currently on hiatus but it does not mean that lovers of this very famous game should also be on hiatus, right? Last season, I blogged a lot about the NFL and some teams I was rooting for like the Green Bay Packers and the Colts. Yes, I had my nfl pick even if I just started following this game as few years ago. My husband is a football fanatic so that’s probably why I got drawn into it myself. I scout the internet for information on picks for the season but I don’t have to do that anymore because I now can just go to addictssports.com. It’s forum that’s all about different sports like football. Now I have a site I can go if and when I want to ‘talk’ football.

NY Giants Beat the Odds

.....to win the Superbowl XLII title...making the more favored New England Patriots as one of their own player so aptly put it: Second Class . I didn't watch the game itself but I had this odd feeling that the NY Giants would win. Yes, the Patriots had the perfect season but one of their toughest game was against this very same team. They should have taken that in consideration...well, they probably did, it's just not their time to win a 4th Superbowl and be the first team to go 19-0 in Superbowl history. They fell a game short of that. Days leading to this game, a lot of sportscasters, former football players were actually predicting this will happen. One of them even used what happened to the Patriots when they won their first Superbowl to predict this kind of upset. Patriots played agains the heavily favored St Louis Rams so they were the NY Giants team at that time. Isn't that ironic? I guess Eli Manning can now be put up there along with his more famous brother....

New England Patriots Made History

Yes, they did. They, New England Patriots , beat the New York Giants [38-35] and became part of sports history with a standing of 16-0 during the regular season. This is the second time that a team wrapped up the season [well, before the playoffs anyway] with no loss. In 1972, Miami Dolphins [unfortunately, one of the teams this season with few wins] set this same record of no loss , 14 - 0, the Dolphins eventually went to win the SuperBowl that year. Now, Brady's mission is to do the same thing...win the Superbowl XLII . It's not like he's never done it before. He has 3 rings already so earning another one is a big possibility. It was a very close game as the Giants played one of their best games ever. Tom Brady had to go back in the game to be able to make the win. It was well worth it though because they did what only 1 team accomplished so far, a regular season of only wins and no losses. They are the first though to have a record of 16 wins because in 1972, there a...
