The Day After....

So it's the day after thanksgiving, how is it so far? I remember when I was younger, the day after the holiday was usually very quiet, somber, almost sad. It's probably because of all the energy spent or just because it's time to clean up or maybe because it's time to go back to reality. Who knows, right?

Anyway, our thanksgiving went well. Like I mentioned before, any celebration only became a 'big deal' here in our house because of our little girl....and that alone makes me and my husband excited about it. We planned on spending the day with just the three of us.....threesomeness is the word another Juliana used....and that's exactly what we did. We didn't have the 'big bird' itself instead we had lobsters and shrimps. For the side dish, my daughter had her all time favorite, salad pasta while my husband had baked potatoes and some green beans for veggies. Me? Can you guess what I had? I had the lobster and the shrimp, and as a typical Pinay, I had rice..hehe. My lobster was dipped not with lemon and butter but salt and vinegar. Now, if we had thanksgiving in somebody else's house, do you think we would be able to eat the food that we really love? I don't think so. For the dessert, we had pumpkin pie, of course.

Today, we're back to normal...meaning, my husband is in his shop to attend to some of their customers' needs. This week is extra busy for them so he needed to go to the shop to take care of the things needed to please their customers. Me, as you can see, I'm still here blogging. I didn't really take a break since I also blogged yesterday. My little one is of course here with me. She's about to do her school work.

All in all, we had a good one... we always try to have a good day, thanksgiving or not. The only difference is we spent more than we usually do for dinner but hey, it's Thanksgiving....and you know what's coming up rather 'going up'...the Christmas tree....yippee for my daughter. This means that my daughter has another day to wait for. Let me show you what she does while waiting for a special day.

This is her magnetic calendar that's on the fridge. Everyday she makes it a point to circle the date, then would start counting the days before the 'big day'...whatever that is, then she gets really excited...be it 20 days before or 1 day before the big day. I just love her reaction...very pure and simple....why does she have to grow up this fast????

Hi Juliana,
Ang bilis nga ng panahon.AKo din excited na for xmas .Just multiply that to 10 & that would be my daughter's anxiety for the "big day".She's six and just starting to read & its amazing to witness their transitions.
Our Thanksgiving turned out great. The turkey was perfect but next year I'm getting a smaller one.My back hurts right now & had to cancel my black friday shopping. I was just too exhausted:(.
