My Second Tag...this time from Vicky

This is a Tag From Vicky . Thanks much. I'm not doing much today so I thought I'd give it a shot. The rule is to choose three questions among the given that you want to answer and post your own question as fourth for the next ones you'll tag to answer. The ones you tag should answer the question you've posted making his/her post 4 questions again as choices for the next person! Anne's Question: Why do people yawn? Juliana's Answer: Because of boredom. Our bodies induce yawning to drawn in more oxygen or remove a build-up of carbon dioxide Recel's Question: Why the so many races in the world?. Juliana's Answer: Because of geographic locations. Vicky's Question: If there is only One Bible how can there be so many different religions? Seriously, my question: Why is yawning co

In the Eyes of a 5 Year Old...

Image
My 5 year old likes to draw a lot...and I mean A LOT. I don't remember me drawing this much when I was that age but then again...I don't remember much of anything I did when I was 5. Do you??? LOL. Anyway, I would like to share a couple of the 'artistic creations' of our little one. They may not be the best but for us parents what can be better than our kids' creations...tama??? This is a card made a few days ago. It's love day...that's why. Can't beat that. LOL!!   I guess this is how our little one sees Mom and Dad....notice the LONG HAIR??...yep, it's really that long. LOL... Which kid does not like the adorable ELMO? This one we framed because we thought the 'essence' of the adorable monster was captured. Not quite sure though what's happening with its left arm...but who cares, right?

Why???

I just got back from Merydith's blog and read her entry about cooking, ironing and more. Part of her entry is about her Ma's cooking. And what do you know...I started to miss my own "Nanay". Actually, I am now missing both my Nanay and Tatang. They both passed in 2000... 4 months apart. Yep, just 4 short months apart. Every now and then I still find myself thinking about them and why they chose to leave without me by their side. You see, my Nanay passed on while I was still teaching in Taiwan while my father passed while I was in Manila picking up my plane ticket for my trip back to Taiwan. I have always had that fear of getting a phone call and being told that someone I care about passed...probably because I'm the only 1 among the 5 siblings who's far most of the time. March 11, 2000 was the day my Nanay passed. March 12, 2000 was the day I learned about it. I just finished dinner with my co-teacher and room mate and we're chatting while doing the dish

"WHAT TEACHERS MAKE...."

I got this email from a former co-teacher in the Philippines. I saved it so I can go back and read it when I get chances like this one...posting it on my blog. I read a little bit about the author of the poem and I found out that the poem has been changed in some ways. This is what he had to say about it. I got if from his website. http://taylormali.com/     PLAGIARISM or HONEST MISTAKE? I am well aware that "What Teachers Make," a poem I wrote in 1999, has been elevated/reduced to the level of Inspirational Cyber Spam. It started happening shortly after I posted an unattributed draft of the poem on this very website. Since the poem appeared on my website, I figured my name was unnecessary. But I was wrong. I suspect the text of the poem got copied, pasted, and sent by well meaning teachers and fans. Soon enough, the poem became anonymous, and people began to edit, alter, and "sanitize" it. There are, to my knowledge, at least five different vers

My Life as WAHM....

Welcome to my blog. This is my first try to do this so please bear with me as I try to figure out how this thing called “blogging” works. I am a Filipina or a “Pinay” working at home or from home for the last 4 ½ years and loving every minute of it. I am married to an American and we have a 5-year old little girl. I’ve been living in the US for 6 years and I still don’t know how to drive…LOL. That’s probably the primary reason why I am working from home, well, aside from wanting to personally take care of our little one. Here’s a rundown of my online jobs. I hope it inspires anybody to believe that we, Pinays, can also land online jobs. So read on… Online Tutoring I am a teacher by profession so the first thing I looked for when I was searching for an online job is something related to teaching. I have not set foot in a classroom setting for the last 6 yrs, well, so yeah, since I got here. But technically, it’s only been 4 yrs since I have stopped teaching. The reason? My first work
