Our Car ALMOST Got Stolen???

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a Way to End My YESTERDAY!!! I'm not sure if our car was almost stolen, vandalized or what...
Let's me start with a recap of what I went through yesterday...please bear with me [and my 'whining'].
1) **Closing - scheduled but didn't happen**It MAY be happening today. Update later!
2)**Cable - Pain in the you know what! Went 'kaboink' at around 11 AM, fixed at around 4! Dealt with some incompetent CS.**
You would think those were the 2 "highlights" of my day yesterday and nothing can go wrong anymore. Right?? W-R-O-N-G!!! Let me share with you what happened just before I went to bed! Read On....
After my 'eventful' day, I decided to turn in a bit early. At around 10:30 PM, I turned off my lappy and started turning off the lights while waiting for my lappy to be totally off.
Just when I was pulling out the computer's plug off the wall, I glimpsed outside. I saw these 2 young men, teenagers, walking on the street... towards our way. I was not planning on paying attention but I saw them going up our property.
Our property has no fence. We have a privacy fence behind the house. We don't have a garage either so the car is parked by the kitchen door.
I saw these 2 young men going up the property by the kitchen where the car is parked. So I ran to the kitchen [the lights were off so they couldn't see inside the house] and looked out the window...through the blinds...to see what they were doing.
One of the men was standing by the tree on our property acting as a LOOK OUT! The other one was by the driver's door of our car. I couldn't see what he was doing but I knew he was about to do something really BAD.
My mind was running 200 mph at that moment. Should I wake hubby up or not? I was thinking it may be too late to do that as the other man was already by the car!
So I did what I thought was the best thing to do at that moment. I turned ON the light outside!!! The light is by the kitchen door and it directly lights up where they were.
As soon as I did that, the "look out" started running away. The other one followed suit...fast! I opened the door and stared at them running away! Yep, I did that! Why? I don't know!!
As soon as they were out of my sight, I woke hubby up and told him what happened. He went outside to check. Fortunately, no damage was done to the car. He went around the property just to check if there's anything suspicious going on. None!
Me? I started shaking. The magnitude of what just happened started to sink in. The neighbor's dog started barking right about this time. I think it heard the men running away. The neighbor's security light came on and the neighbor came out after my husband came back in. I *think* she [the neighbor] saw the men running away.
After about 20 minutes of watching out, we decided to go back to bed....but I couldn't sleep. So I stayed in our little one's room. Why? Because I could see the road from her bedroom window. Yes, I wanted to keep watching out. After about an hour of doing that, I decided to go to bed. I woke up at around 3 AM...got up to check again.
In short, I didn't get the sleep I wanted to. I was too worried to do that. Tonight, I'm going to ask the husband to park the car inside the privacy fence...just for my peace of mind.
We are still wondering what those 2 men/kids were planning in doing. Steal the car, vandalize it or maybe steal gas - which is the 'crime' of the season because of gas prices.
Whatever it was, we're glad they were not able to do it.
As for me....I am still a bit on edge. NOW I cannot wait to MOVE!!!
Good thing you noticed before goin' to bed. Otherwise they could've damaged your car or steal it even. Man oh man, these people are everywhere! You don't even feel safe at your own house anymore. Our neighbor got broken into couple months ago and I saw the guy running towards their house! Better lock the doors and park the garage where you can see it. Why don't you get a watch dog, sis?
OMG! I am utterly shocked whilst reading this entry of yours. What you did is right but dangerous. You are lucky they didn't have any weapon with them. That is really scary Mama Jul's ay kung sa akin nangyari yon baka hinimatay na kaagad ako, lol. Tarantado talaga mga teenagers ngayon, kahit saan may mga ganoon. Yupp, you should move to a safer location.
Btw, sorry just had time to update my blog....
Got you tag btw......grab it Here ....Thank and ingats always.
that really was horrendous! good thing you were still up. i know you'd be panicking in that situation! very clever of you to just turn the light on and didn't go outside. with weapons or none, who knows what they could do.
we really must be cautious and vigilant nowadays. no place is safe anymore! i bet you couldn't wait to move to your new house!
take care!
I know you said you are nervous (as i would feel by reading through your post! to think that we, your readers are nervous are nervous as well), but you acted so calmly on the very instant of the situation. What an experience, my dear! Ah, our society! And those teenagers? Just bad...bad! Thank God everything is okay. The car is okay, the property is okay, and most importantly, you're all okay.God bless you and your family,my friend!
