Biking and Bird-Watching...

It’s so cold! Well, not as cold as it was when we woke up but it’s still pretty cold out there so we haven’t been out of the house today. The little one also has the 'sniffles' so I don’t want her to get any worse by going out in this chilly weather as it’s almost her favorite celebration – the Halloween! On days where it’s not this cold, she has 2 favorite things to do. One is of, course, biking. The other one is to stay in the back porch to watch the different birds that come to our back yard. Dad got her a bird feeder not too long ago. So we put it in the backyard to attract all the birds that we see going in the neighbor’s bird feeder. It attracted all right but not birds…squirrels. Ugh.

That bird feeder is still sitting in the backyard. We just don’t put seeds in it so there are no birds [and squirrels] coming near it. I am looking for a squirrel-proof bird feeder now so the little one can once again enjoy bird watching. I’ve been looking for a few weeks now and I may have found one that will work. This one:



Nice, eh? The site I found this has a lot of other really nice looking bird feeders that I took me a while to decide which one I want. But I had to make choice, so a choice was made. And this is the one I want.

Do Painted Buntings visit your place? They are sooo beautiful -- well, the Males are (like most Birds). Taking photographs of that and the Crested Caracara were part of the itinerary on our latest FL vacation.

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather? Last week it was raining almost everyday as predicted by the meteorologists around here. The time the rain would fall was the unpredictable part tho
