ONDOY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been days since I last wrote here. I guess I'm just too preoccupied with all that's happening back home. Thankfully, my family back there didn't have to go through the devastation that most of the people in the greater Metro Manila, Marikina and the Rizal province went through and are still going through. I tried to call my siblings while everything was going down but the circuits were all busy. After talking to a high school classmate who informed me that the river [which is by our very backyard] swelled up, I decided to try calling my family again. I got lucky that time because I was able to speak with my sister in-law who resides in Angeles City. Yes, the river water rose but it didn't cause any flooding. Big sigh of relief after that phone call.
I've been glued mostly online reading and watching some heart wrenching videos posted on You Tube. I want to be kept abreast with all that's happening but sometimes after reading all that has transpired in the last few days, I can't help but feel great sadness. All I can do right now is offer prayers to all those affected by this unfortunate event. Hopefully, I'll be able to do more in the days to come.
Let's ALL pray that this ordeal be over soon. If you want to extend any kind of help, please visit the Philippine National Red Cross site. Aside from Red Cross, there are also a lot of other places/organizations you can visit to extend any kind of help you can afford.
Good to know that your siblings in Pampanga were not affected by the devastation of Ondoy. This disaster is unbelievably overwhelming! Nothing like this have been seen in all the 5 decades of my existence here in Metro Manila!
We've given out some help in our own little way and daughter and son along with their friends volunteered in some Operation Tulong here in our place.
It'll be weekend again. Have a joyful one!
it's disheartening and every time I watch the Philippine news,I get sad. I haven't decided which organization to send our donation to.
Been MIA as F is off for 2 weeks. we're busy with the big project and we both have doctor's appointment in between. mas marami kay F for his annual check-ups.
good night!
Hi J! Napa-advance pala ang utak ko para sa weekend! I was thinking Friday n ngayon. ha ha ha..
Regarding the chick chirping, it's due to the Pet widget I installed at the side bar. But I thought all the while that turning off the sound icon would stop the chirping sound. So now I learned the sound is still on despite turning it off. I wonder how I can make it stop. - Ate Beng
Hi Ate J! I'm so glad that your family are safe. My family from my mom's side weren't so lucky. their house was flooded and they've lost everything. But what matters most is that none of them got hurt from the disaster. Tsk tsk...
Every time I watch the news only private organizations are doing something... what happened to the Philippine government?
Most of my family are in Pangasinan and they're safe too, but it's sad because I have alot of relatives and friends who're residing in Manila and Rizal who were greatly affected.
Let's continue to pray for them and extend our helping hand...
