A first for the the 3 of us. Our very first TRAIN RIDE! Choo! Choo!

That's one of the things we did during our spur of the moment trip to Georgia during this Labor Day weekend. We didn't plan anything. We just packed some clothes and went our merry way. We had a great time. No stress. Why? Because we didn't spend hours upon hours planning the trip. We didn't even have hotel reservations. We said we'd sleep in the car if we had to. We knew it was going to be a busy weekend for the hotels since it's a holiday weekend but lucky for us, we were able to find a hotel with rooms available.

One of the things we wanted to do was do the 'scenic ride' courtesy of that train in the picture. Again, we're lucky that there were still seats available considering it's a holiday weekend. The ride itself was about an hour one way. It took us to the border between Georgia and Tennessee. Once there, we were allowed to roam the area for about an hour. We just walked around then got back on the train for our trip back. It was a fun, relaxing ride.

After the fun train ride, we drove around the area/city/town to see more of it. We like it there. It's country and very laid back. Just the kind we like.

Wow, you went on cross country trip without any plan at all, Huling?! How exciting! And more exciting pa for me is the train ride you had. Ay, feel ko yung fun and excitement of seeing breathtaking sceneries while comfortably seated in the train. Sarap naman ng weekend getaway nyo!

Kelan ko kaya ma-experience ang US tour? Hayy, kung mangarap ka't magising! Lol!

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather?
