Saturday Social...my first time to participate so I hope I'm not too late to post yet as Saturday is winding down already. Anyway, thanks Vhiel of Can of Thoughts for introducing me to Saturday Social.

Today’s Saturday Social Question:

When is your birthday?

My Answer:

November 1...yep, All Saint's Day in the Philippines. Back home, my birthday was always a big deal as it falls on a holiday there. Bunches of people go to the cemetery to visit their departed loved ones. During my younger years, it was always spent collecting candle drippings to come up with the biggest ball of wax. Fun, fun, fun!

High school days, I would spend the whole day with classmates roaming around.

College days, it became some kind of a reunion with my HS classmates as we were going to colleges in different places already.

These days, the day before my birthday is a big[ger] day here since it's Halloween so we tend to celebrate it by eating out after the 'trick or treat' fiasco. The birthday itself is spent at home with an ice cream cake. Yum!

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. It's not that I have nothing to write about. I have plenty but I seem to have lost interest in blogging. I thought  at first that it was just a phase. I thought it would only last for a few days but days turned into weeks then months then years and I still haven't blogged. Nothing sparked my interest to blog so I just didn't. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

M-U-L-C-H-E-D

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather? Last week it was raining almost everyday as predicted by the meteorologists around here. The time the rain would fall was the unpredictable part tho
