Sitting and Waiting....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...for that call from my husband telling me that "We will be closing today!" Yep, it hasn't happened yet and I am getting really tired of waiting.
What's the hold up? How about incompetent people who can't do their jobs right the first time??? We have been waiting for the closing for about a month now...and I am about to lose my patience. It seems that people are in the wrong line of work because they don't know what they are doing.
An example: The person in-charge [PM, maybe?] from the builder said that the sod can be put right before we move in or right after we move in. That's fine with us so we agreed. Guess what? After a day or so he called the husband and said that the bank wants the sod put in before closing! Huh??? Didn't he know that? He's only been doing this job for years. As a result of his incompetence, we had to wait for more than a week for the sprinkler people to put the sprinkler in...then another few days for the sod to be put in.
Sigh! That's only one of the many instances that those people at the builder screw up. Right now they are dying to get the final payment from the bank. The bank wouldn't release it until the house is insured. Did the builder tell us that beforehand?? N-O-P-E!! So we had to hurry up in getting the property insured. After which we wait again for the insurance to clear. Then the insurance company would have to send the paperworks to the bank as a proof that we are insured already. Then some waiting until these 3 companies agree that everything is in the clear.
Did I already say that we waited for this house for 4 L-O-N-G Years to be finished??? I wonder when this waiting game is going to end!
I wanna thank you for sharing your story about getting a house,my dear. I can feel it is really a big hassle. So many craps that we have to deal with. We hadn't build our own house yet in Canada, but in the future we will. The reason why we are international is that we are saving money to build our dream house someday. Reading through your stories, i can really feel how tough it is and how expensive it is, for sure! Goodluck to all your endeavours, my dear! The very good thing about challenge, perseverance and everything is the good outcome. I am praying that it will be a good one for you and your family! Take care,Mommy J!
P.S.
I know that if we'll gonna build our dream house one day, i will always be coming back again and be rereading your older posts! Again, thanks for sharing your "house building story!"
