The Birthday Party

This is the cute little girl who had a birthday party yesterday. She's the granddaughter of my husband's sister so she's technically our granddaughter. But here in the US, she's our 'niece'. Cool, eh? It makes me feel 'younger'...LOL....

The party was supposed to be a Princess party but none of the guests wore any 'royal' outfits. Maybe because most of the guests were adults. Yep, there were only a few kids who didn't don any royal outfit as well. The party was held in one of the parks near our place. It was like a backyard barbecue so it was very laid back. We had burgers, hotdogs and pastas. Our little one had a blast because she got to play with some cousins who are near her age. She's the youngest in the group so they tried to take good care of her.

And since it's a birthday party, cameras were everywhere...from the tiny ones to the big ones. My husband took a liking to the Canon Powershot that the birthday girl's Dad used to chronicle the event. The camera is not too bulky and it takes great pictures as well. I guess that's what you get from a 10Megapixel camera, eh? My hubby said that he's thinking of getting one for our next camera. Woo hooo....

We had a great time at the party. It got a bit chilly as the day went on but it was bearable [hint: I had a jacket ready]. It was great to catch up with family that we don't get to see often.

so cute, kaya lang ang lagkit kaya niya, with all the icing haha. kakatuwa just looking at a little one.

nice weather here too today in the high 40's no wind, and they say it will be in the 50's on wednesday.

Ang cute naman nung birthday girl! I thought I'd see another photo of the li'l one.

Salamat sa compliments, J! Sus, naman! For sure you'll still be like a sister to Erica even when she turns 15 or 25. You're not stressed kasi kaya you'll always look young.

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

M-U-L-C-H-E-D

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather? Last week it was raining almost everyday as predicted by the meteorologists around here. The time the rain would fall was the unpredictable part tho
