Me? A Grandma?

Yep, I am. Thanks to my niece who has 2 kids already. Here in the US, you call the children of your nieces or nephews just that...niece and nephew as well. But it's different in the Philippines so I am indeed a 'granny'. If you consider my cousins children's children, then I've been a granny since I don't know when. Actually, I'm already a great grandma if my cousins' children's children's children are to be considered. Confusing, eh? LOL...The latest 'grandchild' is a daughter from a cousin's daughter. I didn't even know she was pregnant but I was told that they posted birth announcements in different social networks to let family know both near and far about the new addition to the family. I guess I need to check their pages more often.

Now being called 'grandma' [Lola] is nothing new to me. That's actually how all my classmates in high school call me up to this day. Am I offended by the nickname? Nope. I actually find it endearing because everyone not only my batch mates would call me that. It kinda' stuck with me even after we graduated from high school. You'll know that the person was either a high school classmate or someone who came from the same high school that I went to.

So go ahead, call me 'grandma'...

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather? Last week it was raining almost everyday as predicted by the meteorologists around here. The time the rain would fall was the unpredictable part tho
