The 'Carousel'

a.k.a. 'the surprise Christmas gift'

Hubby and I already have our Christmas gift for each other...'ya know...the 'elliptical machine' we got a few weeks before Christmas. Yeah...that one. We have yet to put it in 'full use' but we'll get there...eventually.

Anyway, the little one wanted to give us her 'own gift' so she secretly told us [seperately] of her plan. The good parents that we are [achoo!], we pretended we didn't know anything about it. But the husband didn't want to 'shop aimlessly' [as he called it] so he asked me what I wanted. Hmm...so much for secrecy, eh? I told him I'll clue him in when we're out 'looking' for the gift once I see something I like. We were out of time so we had to do everything on the same day we went to the mall. Luckily I saw this 'carousel' in no time and 'clued' the husband in. He and little one bought it while I walked 'aimlessly' around the 'Bath & Body Works' store nearby. LOL... Anyway, for her 'surprise gift' for Dad...it was easier for me to look for it since I do most of the 'looking' online. What did we get him? A wallet, of course! I know it's nothing mind-boggling but I thought it's something that Daddy needed since the one he's using is the one we gave him last Christmas. LOL...Now you know what he's getting NEXT year. Ha!

The carousel is now placed in our still almost 'empty' curio. That's the reason why I chose it...for the curio. It's our big project this year...to fill it up with whatever tickles our fancy...and fits our budget of course. I still have a few glass figurines coming in the mail in about a week so it won't be as empty anymore. We have a long way to go as far as filling it up but it's slowly getting there. Hopefully it won't take 'that' long to do it. At least now if won't be hard to think of gifts for birthday, anniversary, valentine, and other special occasions, eh? For at least a year anyway....

kami dito we were clobbered with snow - almost 2 feet sa amin. F worked from home, as all mode of transpo were suspended all of New York. mga kuko ko nga nangingitim na sa ginaw.

what a cutie carousel! e di na-surprise ka getting the gift you want?! ha ha... at masaya pa si E sa bigay nya sa 'yo! that's what matters, di ba?. yung gift mo kay M, ang hirap talaga isipin eh. he he.. ako din, wallet at wallet pa rin ang naiibibgay. konti lang nman kasi pang-gift sa kanila.

Ready na ba ang pang Media-Noche? Dito hindi pa rin. Still thinking of what to cook.

Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

M-U-L-C-H-E-D

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather?
