Long Travels...

It's now about 3 weeks since we got the much awaited, much talked about curio. Like I mentioned last time, it's almost 2 years in the making. The only consolation we have is it came out good...or maybe we just think so because we've been waiting for it so long. When we ordered this curio more than a year ago we had everything mapped out. Hubby even talked to one of their delivery people to pick it up since he wants to make sure it makes it here in one piece since it's coming all the way from Georgia. The delivery guy asked a few times as to when it would be ready for pick up until he stopped since hubby couldn't give him a definite answer back then. I guess he just gave up...can't blame him...we almost did.

Anyway, when the guy we paid to build this curio finally finished it hubby decided he'd pick it up himself instead of having it shipped. He wanted to see the curio first before paying the guy some more. He was bent in not paying him at all if he's not totally happy with it. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have let him drive that far just to fetch a curio. I get worried everytime he's on the road because I'm afraid that a travel emergency will happen to him. Yep, I'm a little bit paranoid because I know that there's a lot of crazy drivers out there. I'm confident with my husband's driving...it's the other drivers I'm worried about. Obviously he was able to make it back & forth in one piece with the curio. One thing is for sure...we won't be taking this route again if and when we want a custom made product.

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather? Last week it was raining almost everyday as predicted by the meteorologists around here. The time the rain would fall was the unpredictable part tho
