Birthday Party

The little one decorated her girly bedroom for a simple birthday party for the main man in her life. She did all the 'decorating' herself because mommy was busy doing her chores around the house. We were supposed to do it tonight but since Daddy went to the other house to fix some leak on the roof, I decided to do it yesterday evening. It was easier to go about things knowing he won't be walking in on us while doing some preps.

The little one really got busy. She pulled out all her paraphernalia. She has a "bag of tricks" for times like this and it really makes her very excited to do it. She was pulling one of our 2 step stools around her bedroom so she could hang stuff around up the walls and even tried putting something on the ceiling fan. She was quite disappointed though because she ran out of balloons and she wasn't able to tell us. Balloons to her are the 'life' of the party but there was nothing we could do about it so she had to make do with what she has.

But even without the balloons she was quite happy with how it turned out. The birthday boy liked his 'surprise'[?] party and the presents he got... I think anyway. The little one said she couldn't wait for the next 'celebration'...her birthday party and there better be balloons that time. Uh-oh...

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

M-U-L-C-H-E-D

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather?
