Last Minute Shopping

Why is it that we do that to ourselves? I guess we like the adrenalin of being rushed? I don't really like being rushed. I usually 'rebel when I'm being rushed. I just flat out stop and that's it. This time it's a bit different. We didn't have a lot of time to prepare for the upcoming trip so there is no choice but to do as much as we can with whatever time we have on our hands....much as I don't like it.

Anyway, a lot of the things I'm taking to my loved ones back home are bought online. That's the only way for now since hubby is only free on the weekends which means shopping in local stores will be limited. I also did my online shopping mostly at nights because I have other things to do during the day. Clothes and shoes are the most requested as expected. One of my brothers asked for a pair of work boots which I had to buy online of course. Hubby was beyond surprised when he saw me on a website that sells things like carharrt boots and carhartt coveralls for men. He just cannot fathom the idea of my brother wearing those work clothes/shoes because of how hot it can get in the Philippines. I have to explain to him that we're so used to that kind of weather that some can even walk around in long sleeves, long pants and boots in 90 degree weather. He just looked at me like I lost my marbles then went back to minding his own business. Haha....

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. It's not that I have nothing to write about. I have plenty but I seem to have lost interest in blogging. I thought  at first that it was just a phase. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather? Last week it was raining almost everyday as predicted by the meteorologists around here. The time the rain would fall was the unpredictable part tho
