Back to the Daily Grind
After a 4-day weekend, we are now back to our daily grind. Thanksgiving came and went without a hitch. We had the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and pumpkin pie. We would have been perfectly fine with just the pie for dessert but a certain little girl wanted to make brownies so we did...from scratch. Ha! Hubby also decided to make a pumpkin roll bread because there was some pumpkin mix leftover from the pumpkin pie mix. So instead of having just one dessert [which would have been great since I'm trying to lose some weight], we ended up with these 3....
It's just the 3 of us so it took us 3 days to finish up what we prepared...and that's only the dessert. I still have a little bit of turkey left in the fridge. I guess I gained back whatever weight I lost [plus some more of course] in the last week or so. Oh well...it's the holidays.
Anyway, we didn't go anywhere during the TD weekend. Unlike many other people, we decided to just stay put even missing on the Black Friday fever. Actually, it's not just Black Friday now but a 'Gray Thursday' as well. I wonder what they'll come up with next year...Whitish Wednesday. Anything to boost up sales I'm afraid. We'd probably end up with a week-long shopping brouhaha one of these days. Oh well....we refuse to be sucked into that. The only time we went 'shopping' was for groceries for our weekly supplies. After that, we went straight home.
Anyhooo...that's how we spent our looong weekend. No fuss. Just relaxing in the comfort of home....picking on each other. Ha!
