Going back to Mobia...

During my last blood test, it was found out that I now have an 'underactive thyroid'. It's the opposite of what I've been diagnosed back in 2009 which was hyperthyroidism which I've been chronicling here since it first started. I was promptly put on medication to slow down my thyroid and it's been working for the past few years. In the course of my treatment, the dosage of my medication has been changed several times per my progress. I started with 6 pills a day I think, down to half a pill a day as the latest dose. My doctor predicted that I may be off my meds in about 3 years. He's right on the money because it's been now 3 years ~ more or less ~ and I'm off of my medications...for now. Hopefully it will stay that way from now on but we'll see....

I had the feeling that I may have an underactive thyroid even before the blood test proved it. For one, I've been gaining weight steadily. Yes, I'm back with that dilemma called 'weight gain'. This happened to me about a year or so ago [weight gain because of underactive thyroid]. My doctor said that I was taking too much of the medication which in turn slowed my thyroid way below normal so he had to change the dosage of my meds to correct that. That did the trick because the weight gain stopped. This time around, I'm not blaming my thyroid ONLY for my extra poundage because I've also been slacking with exercise as well. But I know that my underactive thyroid has something to do with me gaining weight because also tried to cut on my food intake...still, the weight keeps going up. My 'diet' should have at least kept my weight from going up but it didn't. I therefore conclude....that's I getting 'plumpier'.....ha!

So today I started getting on the Mobia again. It's been months since I got on it and I can tell that it's been a long time because it was torture walking on it for the first 10 minutes. I used to stay on that thing for almost an hour at least 4x a week. I'm trying to take it easy though because I don't want to over exert myself. Hopefully, I'll be able to shed off the pounds I've gained in the last several months. It won't be easy but I know it will happen. I already did the hardest part....getting on it again!

Wish me luck!

Hi Ate! It's so good to hear from you. Oo nga naman, we are who we are because of what we've been through. I love myself so I think I had an ok past lol. No Ate kailangan ko pa nang 1 more year and then I'll be an RN. Undergraduate nursing employee lang ako. I hope your winter is not as brutal as mine. Lol.
