Home Makeover...

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of the things I used to do way before I actually started working online was registering to different sites for surveys, promotions, and sweepstakes. It was fun joining because even if I didn’t win any major prizes, I still got some promotional items. I still join every now and then but only to those that are not time consuming. Then while I was watching TV last week, this commercial about Renuzit TriScents came on. It’s a new kind of electric scented oil air freshener that has 3 different scents instead of just 1. Cool idea, isn’t it? So I was watching the commercial thinking of putting this new product in my grocery list. The commercial then mentioned about an ongoing promotion that anyone can enter to win . Yes, you, me and everybody else residing in the US can actually take part. So what is the contest all about? Well, let me first say that the winner will get a Home Maekover to the tune of $20,000!! Wow! My home will look brand new after th...
Made it to Top 5 Hottest Blogs.....
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, I did!! This blog is included as one of the top 5 hottest blog. My blog is #7 which meant it's tied with another blog...I think. Gagay was the one that actually told me about it a long time ago. I did my part and nominated some blogs but I didn't expect this blog to be included in the list of the 'final' winners. Woo Hooo!!! Thanks much to BlueDreamer for this 'token'. Like I said, it's not expected but very much appreciated and I'm flattered of course. [wiping a drop of tear[?] here... ] Thanks to all those that listed my blog as one of their 'top 5 hottest blog'....this is for all of us!!! Cheers....

Homeschool or Not????

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been 'homeschooling' our little one...unofficial since we have not really decided yet if we will go with private school or public school kind of home schooling. I'm still reading on these 2 but basically if we choose public school, we need to send a letter of intent to the district in our county letting them know of our decision to homeschool her. If we choose to go with the private school, no need for a letter of intent since there is some kind of an autonomy for private schools. I still don't drive. That's the major reason we decided to do the “homeschooling”. I know it's probably the best for her because she learns at her pace. She's turning 6 soon so I am now thinking of what to do next. For the past week or so, I've been trying to read more about this “homeschooling”. The information is overwhelming that I am somehow questioning myself if I can really do this. Can I?? Here's a rough draft of what she has learn...
Phone Cards that GetMeCalling...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been away from the Philippines for a total of about 12 years. The first 4 years, I spent teaching in Taiwan while the rest is the years I have been here in the US. One basic necessity of someone like me who is away from family is a phone card . Yes, I call it a necessity because a phone call is the only thing that connects me to my family back home. Now, calling family abroad is not cheap if one does not find the right phone card. So I am always on the look out for the best Philippine phone cards out there. If I can save a few pennies a minute coupled with a clear reception, then I would get that card. Hey, a few saved pennies can easily become a dollar so that’s good.

25 Things YOU Know if YOU have a Son...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've seen this list in a couple of chat boards I frequent to. I don't have a son so I don't really know if what's on the list is true or not. For you who have boys, is there any of these "25 Things" true at all? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 25 Things You Know If You Have A Son... 1. A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 square foot house 4 inches deep. 2. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite. 3. A 3-year old boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant. 4. If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20 x 20 foot room. 5. You should not throw baseballs up when the c...
Glasgow, Scotland...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have a few friends who now reside in the UK. One of them was a high school classmate who I just reconnected with last month. I knew he lives in UK with his family but I didn’t have any of his contact information…until I bumped into him in our high school’s alumnae website. So now we’ve been exchanging messages. He said that he's planning to relocate to Australia within this year. But before he does that, there is one place in UK he really wants to visit: Scotland! He thinks he won’t have the chance to visit it for a long time if he does not do it before they relocate. I couldn’t agree more. Since he has no relatives or friends in Scotland, he is now looking for some accommodations for him and his family and the list of Glasgow hotels I found just now would surely be of great help to them. How I wish I could visit with them before they move but it’s not possible at the moment. Well, maybe in the future. My family and I may just go on a tour and I...

What's Next After Easter?

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Halloween of course! Well, that's according to our little one. Ask her what her favorite celebration is and she will say without hesitation: Halloween! Wonder why? It’s because of the costume that she gets to wear on this day. As early as now she’s actually talking about what she wants to be on Halloween. I am not holding my breath that it’s going to stay the same but I am already looking at kids costumes and bookmarking sites just in case. I can also suggest some to her and I’m sure it will be appreciated. She had been a Princess, a Ballerina and Jojo Circus in the past. I am actually excited what she’s going to end up being this year. Here she is last Halloween while doing her 'rounds'.
