Whole "8" Years Old!

After telling that girl at the park that she is ' 7 going on 8 '...she is now a 'whole' 8 years old!

... and here she is...mixing the batter for her birthday cake!

It seems it was only yesterday when she was only a 'few hours' old....


Before we know it, we will have a teenager already.

Anyway, we spent her birthday running errands together...and the little one wouldn't have it any other way, of course. I had a Dr's appointment that's been set up 6 months ago. Normally, the husband would only take an hour or so off work to drive me to the appointments but today he decided to take the WHOLE DAY off. We were out the whole morning running errands and spent the rest of the day at home. Anyway, my ophthalmologist said that my eyes are great although they are uneven still. This time around, it's the right eye that has a lid retraction. He said it's normal for someone with thyroid issue. I had some blood test done as well which means I need to set up an appointment with my other doctor. I won't be seeing the ophthalmologist for a whole year though so...yay!

L-O-S-T. I guess that about sums up how I'm feeling right now...with blogging anyway. I don't even know how to start this post. 😕 It's been almost 2 years since I last posted. Simple Life....

When we visited my family in 2012 we didn't actually spend as much time as I would have liked with most of them. That's because we planned a road trip which took most of our time. Since we were on the road majority of the stay, we weren't able to spend as much time in my childhood home. During our recent trip, that's exactly what we did. We spent a lot of time in my childhood home. We actually stayed home too much that we got bored after a while. But it was somehow an 'eye opener' for me as well as my significant other. On his part, he was finally able to experience 'real summer' back there. Both trips happened in April. But since we were in an air-conditioned car most of the time during our 2012 trip, we didn't really feel how hot it was. This time around, the air-con was only in our room. As soon as we stepped outside, it's hot. As a result, the AC in our room stayed on the whole day because it served as a reprieve from the heat. Every time

Finally finished the project I started a couple of months ago...at least. Now I'm a happy [and a bit sore] camper. I finished putting the mulch this morning mainly because I don't want to give the weeds another chance to invade the flower beds again...at least for a few months anyway. I think I had to pull out weeds twice before to prepare them for the mulch. I thought hubby would have the chance to put it down but his work just wouldn't let him so I decided to do it myself a few weeks ago. So why did it take me weeks to finish 2 and a half flower beds? I was just taking my time I guess. There was no hurry so I took my time. Now that I'm done with that 'project' I'm off to continue another one that I started about 2 weeks ago...decluttering my home office. The weather here is as unpredictable as...the weather? Last week it was raining almost everyday as predicted by the meteorologists around here. The time the rain would fall was the unpredictable part tho
