My 'Visits' to the Doctor
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Uneven eyes. That's basically the reason why I had to go see a doctor last Wednesday. I actually wrote about my uneven eyes last September. At that time I thought my right eye was droopy because it closes slower than the left one. I figured it's my astigmatism or an outdated eyeglasses that's causing it so I wasn't worried much. I 'thought' it's getting better too and that since I am always in front of the computer, it just wouldn't go away.
Fast forward to the last few weeks. In one of the many occasions I was 'staring' at myself in the mirror, I finally realized that the problem may not be my right eye but the LEFT one. I started feeling some discomfort on my left eye that's why I was guessing it's the one with the problem. After days of debating with myself [and the husband] if I should see a doctor or not, I made an appointment for last Wednesday. I didn't even know what kind of doctor I should see so I settled with a general practitioner. It was an awkward call I tell you because I really didn't know what to tell them as to what's wrong with me. Guess what I said....yes, uneven eyes... in between giggles.
So I went in last Wednesday. After checking me [and my eye], the doctor couldn't tell what the problem is. He agreed that they're uneven but there's nothing else unusual . At first he suggested to get a CAT Scan to see if there's something growing behind it which could be pushing it forward making it protrude. He then changed his mind and called an ophthalmologist instead to get another opinion. After their phone conference, I was advised to see the eye doctor...but not before I had some blood drawn for some testing. Ugh....
So yesterday, Thursday, I went in for my second doctor appointment. The ophthalmologist didn't find anything as well. He even contradicted the other doctor about my eye protruding [or bulging]. The verdict? It MAY be a thyroid problem. So after my trip to the Eye Center, I went straight to the lab for a thyroid ultra-sound. The eye doctor also want to go forward with the CAT Scan for my left eye just to make sure nothing is growing behind it. So now I'm scheduled to have that done. It's supposed to be this afternoon but it got moved to Monday so now I'm just here relaxing.
So there...that's the story of my mysterious 'visits' to the doctor. Ha!
