It's cold and wet outside as we have cold front coming in the area coupled with some rain. My new career ...err....raking has to be put on hold as it's a bit too wet to do that. I hope that the weather will get back to what it was last week so I can continue with my mission of making our yard weed and dry leaves free. I really want to start a garden this year. We only have one car right now and it's the one that my husband drives to work. He said that once I start driving, he will get another one for him. He's been gone for 8 years now but his birthday is still something I always remember. My father was the 2nd child in the brood of 6. He never finished school because he had to get a job at the age of 16 in order to survive. Because of the lack of education, he could only do jobs that didn't require any degree. Life was hard for him but that didn't stop him from living it and getting the most out of it. While his brothers and sisters left the 'nest' to start a family of their own, my father chose to stay put to care for my grandmother. When he finally married my mother at the age of 35, he opted to live with my grandmother so he could continue to look after her even if he had a family of his own already. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ... according to the little one. Late this afternoon while I was pulling out weeds in the backyard, the little chatterbox kept on talking. Yeah, that's what chatterboxes do. This time though she was 'chattering' about stocks...as in stock market stocks. She's of course explaining it like a kid....to me. Ha! How did she learn about stocks? Through the Dad. She saw it in her iPod so she asked the Dad what stocks are and the Dad so readily explained it to her. She probably thought I don't know what stocks are [which may be true...LOL] so she tried explaining it to me while I was weeding. So I listened....half listened actually as I was busy weeding. When she was done 'explaining', I asked her if I could ask her questions about what we discussed in History this morning and she said yes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Florida is the state of choice for many older people. Most of the people in our neighborhood are of retirement age already. That's probably why it's very quiet around here. One reason why they choose this state the climate. Winter is almost non-existent here so they don't have to worry about freezing. This is the reason why the husband's great-grandparents moved here from Pennsylvania a few years ago. They are in their 80s already but they still live in their own house. They have a lot of grandchildren and great-grandchildren around here so if they need anything all they have to do is call and there's a relative who will come knocking on their door. Just last week, Pop called asking if the husband can help him look for a Chevrolet AC Compressor . It seems their ever dependable car needs a new one. Since it's Florida, summer is very possible even during winter. Pop didn't want to wait until it's too late.

This will be the 3rd day this week as I did that yesterday and I filled up a 39-gallon back...woot! woot! LOL... The little one is so excited to do it again that she's already in the back porch waiting for me. I told her I still have some stuff I need to do in here like the grocery list that needs for his grocery shopping tonight. But...she's still out there singing with her iPod. It's TGIF already...yay! The weather here is a cool 69 degrees right now so I need to wear a sweater to do my raking but that's fine. I'd be taking it off in no time at all because raking is hard work....ha! Says who? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’ve been saying here that one of my goals this year is to finally get on my driving lessons. I haven’t tried yet mind you but I’m slowly getting the nerve to try very soon. As part of my so called learning process I now listen more to the husband when he talks about car stuff. Like last time he said that he’s looking to buy power steering rack . I had no idea what that is so I went online and check it out. I try not to ask him too many question because I’m afraid he may think I don’t listen to him….haha. Anyway, I also found a site for him to check so I’ll be in his ‘good’ list for a while.
