Yes, HE IS GUILTY !!!!! Steven Bartlett , the builder that screwed us and 100+ families is found guilty of Grand Theft of more than $100,000 although in reality, he took more than $1 Million - close to $1.6 Million - from all of us combined! I cannot put into words how happy I am that this man finally got what he deserves. He is now in jail awaiting his sentencing on April 16, 2008 and he may get up to 30 years in jail. Serves him right! The trial only lasted for 3 weeks. It was really fast because the case against him is really strong. The jury deliberated for 6 hours before deciding that he is indeed GUILTY! Last Christmas season, I asked my husband if they had any give-away to their customers. He said none. Hmmm….so I asked him why not? Well, first their business is still very young so the budget would not allow it. Second, they were quite busy towards the end of the year last year that they didn’t have the time to do that. Third, they just didn’t think about it. So I came up with a plan. I am going to look for something like logo pens that they can use as give-away to their customers. Aside from not being that pricey, it’s something that we all use. Now all I have to do is convince the husband that this is a good idea. What do you think?

Like I mentioned here, the house is not that big so everything that we choose should be retractable or small. This includes the beds because of the size of the bedrooms. Maybe a platform beds like this one will be a good idea for our bedroom. It’s Thyme Bed with the folding Bench Footboard. I like the footboard because I sometimes like to rest my feet on something and I like the fact that I can fold it anytime I want if I need some space. One of the things we are not taking with us when we move to our new house is the entertainment center we have here at our present home. It takes too much space and it will just be too crowded in the new house if we take it with us. The problem is we have our speakers resting on top the entertainment center now. So for us to be able to take the speakers with us, we have to find something like speaker mount that we can use to hold them. According to the news, the rare pearl can cost thousands of dollars if it’s sold. Isn’t that amazing? You know what could be more amazing? If diamonds actually come from oyster!! Like maybe a 5-carat diamond. I’m sure that if oyster actually produce diamonds, more people will be eating this food. I’m not sure about me though. I have not been a big oyster eater. I have had them cooked but never raw. I wish I can but I just can’t eat raw oyster, or any other raw food for that matter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...the power outage, the tornado, the storm! Well, I'm exaggerating here a bit...LOL. The power outage was a much bigger issue than what I anticipated. It's the headlines in most of our local news programs this evening. Where we're at, power was only out for about 30 minutes but other places had no power for hours. They are now saying it's some kind of a malfunction in or around the nuclear plant. About 3,000,000 were affected by this malfunction. As for the weather, we were on tornado watch as well as storm watch since late this afternoon. It's mostly rain, thunders and lightning here. No tornado [thank goodness]. Anyway I'm off to Lalaland. There is still a lot to be done but like I said, we’re happy that something is finally taking shape after 4 long years. Anyway, my husband is making sure that there is progress every week. Everything is being done by the contractor and the sub-contractors except some wiring for the house which my husband is doing himself. So he’s been scouting online stores for things like CAT6 and other cables and wires that I am not certain about. He was able to get some of the materials already but I know he needs some more so I would have to tell him about Blackbox Network Services. I’m sure he will be thrilled that I found it.

I did not know what caused it, I thought it was just some cables being knocked down because of the strong winds we've been having since this morning. In other words noting serious, for me anyway. Anyway, as I was browsing Yahoo News I came across an article on the real reason of the power outage. It was because a South Florida nuclear plant automatically shut down. It affected the whole state so it's on Yahoo. I didn't expect it to be on the national news but that's now what made me say that the world we live in is scary. Rumors have been circulating around that she is expecting her second [and third? as there is another rumor that she may be expecting twins] biological child but neither she nor her partner, Mr. Brad Pitt , is confirming or denying it. Jolie was even asked by a CNN reporter during her visit to Iraq if she's pregnant. Her answer??? She turned the tables around and kind of reprimanded the reporter for asking such question considering the reporter is working for CNN as opposed to a TV gossip magazine type of show, I guess. A friend of mine is getting married in a few months. I have been helping her to find things that she will need for her wedding. I’m trying my best considering that we’re hundreds of miles apart. One of the things she’s asking me to look for is a corset that she needs for her wedding gown. Really? Last week as I was watching our local news, they featured a young girl who is an avid Wii player. She had some kind of a wrist problem that stemmed from her playing the Wii games. In that news segment her doctor said that the number of Wii related injuries are climbing by the day. There is even a website called: Wii Have a Problem ! Yep, it features the different injuries that are Wii related. Not long after this report, some doctors are said to be using the Wii games as therapy for their patients. Huh??? So now I'm not sure if this new craze is good or not. I am thinking of getting one because it seems to be a good way to pass time while sweating it out and having fun. What do you think? ============================================ Watching TV or movies at home is probably one of my favorite past times. I wouldn’t mind being stuck in the house as long as there is something I could watch. Good thing my husband is the same. We spend most of our weekends at home watching together with our little one. So it would be ideal if we can have our very own home theater. But I always thought that having one will be very expensive. All that changed when I came across the discount home theater seating at Stargate Cinema. This set of 3 motion recliners costs only a little more than a thousand dollars plus free shipping. That is affordable in my opinion because the recliner I got my husband a few years ago was about $800…and it’s only 1 recliner. This is a set of 3 which will be perfect for the 3 of us. I may just convince my husband to start thinking about a home theater for our new home. Yeah!

My classes started at 8 AM but I had to be in school at 7:30 AM to prepare for my students' arrival. Now that I no longer have to work outside the house, I go to bed late..really late. He’s quite excited about it but I am a bit concerned because with the kind of work he does, there is a big chance that this $500 worth of a phone will just get scratched on the first day he uses it. The husband finally made a decision as to which smart phone he wants to replace his ancient Nokia 3100 like this one: He's been using this phone for years and he was happy with it. But for the past few months, it's been failing. He tried to use my Motorola phone but he doesn't like it. He bought a new battery for the Nokia but it seems the battery may be too powerful for the phone. So on to plan B??? He's been looking at some smart phones like I wrote in one of my entries . He checked at the different BlackBerry phones as well as the Blackjack. Most wireless providers would actually give subscribers a phone either for free or at a minimal cost with contract but hubs doesn't like the contract. Thus making the search longer than usual. But he finally decided on one...tada!!! He chose the BlackBerry 8820 .
