Learn Self-Defense
Sometime ago, a former co-teacher was riding a bus on her way home from school when a group of men in the bus pointed guns on the other passengers while robbing them of their money and valuables. Ever since that day, I have been mulling over taking some self-defense classes. Finding a school though proved to be harder than I thought. All the places I checked claimed they know the truth about martial arts and that they can help me be ready for any danger that may come my way.
That was more than 10 years ago. Up until this day I have not found a school to my liking so I never really pushed through with that plan… that is until I came across Captain Chris’ Close Combat. My plan of learning self defense may just come true because Close Combat Training is more like the self defense I am looking for.
Close combat training was founded by Chris Pizzo….an accomplished martial artist with 5 black belts to his credit. You would think that with all these belts he has, he would be able to protect his life from any kind of danger…dangers in the outside world, maybe. But when the fight was within his own body, he didn’t have a way to fight it. With the help of his doctors he survived the ordeal and went on with his life as a teacher. He continued to train in martial arts and considered himself as one tough guy. He continued to very active in almost all new martial arts even the ones that were popular. All these trainings made him even more confident about his craft.
But being a martial art expert didn’t prepare him for one life altering fight of his life…a road rage fight. All the training and knowledge he has in martial arts proved to be useless on this particular situation he was in. He almost lost his and his loved ones lives simply because the self-defense he knew didn’t defend them from 2 people who probably didn’t even have any martial training like him. So Chris Pizzo started analyzing the martial arts he knew and decided to find the truth about martial arts. For more than 10 years now, this is what he has been doing. Through this one of a kind self defense method, he is now considered as world leader in self defense.
Through his hard work and dedication, thousands of people now benefit from what is called Close combat. People from all walks of life tried and tested it as proven in the testimonials in their website. Check for yourself and try the no obligation test drive of close combat training in their website.

Get Your Dream Wedding with True Wedding Favors
When my husband and I decided to get married in 2001, it was done the simplest possible way…officiated by a Justice of Peace and witnessed by 2 of his siblings. Why? I was a coward, I guess. I didn’t want to go through the terror of planning a big wedding. My fear was justified when a friend got married in 2005. She spent a lot of money for her wedding coupled with the stress of her personally planning the wedding. If only she found a place that offers unique wedding favors early enough, she would have been spared of all the heartaches in planning the biggest day of her life.
Couples now have the choice of just sitting back and relaxing while their dream wedding is being made into a reality by Truly Wedding Favors. The name says it all….they give the bride and groom unique wedding favors because they are the cheapest there is. It is a one stop place and you can choose the theme of your dream wedding without breaking the bank. They have very unique favors that are priced as low as $1 each.
Just like you, the people who started Truly Wedding Favors had gone through wedding planning themselves so they know what you need and how you feel. So if you want a place that truly understands what unique wedding favors are, visit Truly Wedding Favors. It will certainly make your wedding a memorable one.

The Christmas Tree Saga Continues.....
Here's the Tree with the 'Airblown Animated Inflatable Mickey/Minnie Mouse' my dear husband got for our little one. He actually got it at Walmart about a week ago. I think it cost about $80. We hid it until last night when my hubby set it up while I was giving her a bath. It's kinda' noisy though because it is supposed to be an outdoor display but we didn't want to put it outside because of the crazy weather. So now it's situated right beside our little christmas tree. I guess that's about it for the Christmas tree for now. We don't put the presents until the night before christmas...and yep, our little one still believes in Santa. Oh, she was thrilled to see it. Here she is in her nightgown while she's enjoying it for the first time.

Great Deals at Second Act...
A lot of the electronics in our house are either factory refurbished or floor models. This laptop I’m using right now is factory refurbished which we bought online in 2002. We were in a crunch at that time so we couldn’t afford to pay for a brand new one. That’s more than 5 years ago and my laptop is still alive and kicking. The same with our television set. My husband bought it in 2000. The store he went to didn’t have anymore in stock for that particular model so they offered him the one on the floor for half the price. The TV is the one we still use up to this day. But this old TV set would have to be replaced because with our new house that’s being built now, my husband wants an HDTV. With the price of a new HDTV, I don’t think that we can afford to buy it. Actually, with all the financial problems we encountered having the new house built, I don’t think we can afford anything brand new.
So my husband and I are on a mission now to look for the appliances we need at a much lower price. Most of the appliances we have right now is either broken or on a temporary fix. So we really need to replace them sooner or later. Since we’ve had good experiences with factory refurbished stuff, Second Act is a good place for us to start. They have all kinds of electronics, big and small at a price range we can afford. I just checked their HDTVs and they have a lot of different products and models. You can search the site in categories such as prices, products and sizes.
One of the cool things about Second Act is their Deal of the Day. Like right now, they have this Samsung HL-S6187 61" 1080p DLP HDTV – Refurbished for only $1149!!! Its price for today only went down by $200. Isn’t that a steal? The Deal of the Day normally lasts for 24 hours. After that, they will have another product as their deal of the day. So if you’re not on the lookout for a Plasma or HDTV, you can always check them out daily and see what they have featured on their Deal of the Day. Better still, why not sign up for their newsletter so you will be one of the first to know of all their great new deals.

7 Weird Things about Me????
Pokwang had nothing better to do yesterday so she tagged me not once but TWICE in a matter of minutes…hehe. Nah, I actually appreciate the fact that see remembers me…thanks much Pokwang…
Here are the rules:
*Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
*Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.
*Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
*Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog
***This is going to take a lot of thinking since I can’t think of weird things about me. Some of my so-called ‘weird habits’ are either gone or are not really weird but I’ll try to come up with something.
1. At night, I’d rather put on sweater and/or jammies instead of using the blanket to keep me
warm.
2. When I was in college, I would go in the gym of my dorm where there were games going on to study for my tests. Why? If I stayed in my room to study, I would end up sleeping so I ‘trained’ myself to study in noisy places. I got pretty good in tuning out the noise. Talk about good concentration….nope, I can’t do that anymore.
3. It’s normal in our household to give/get kisses before either my hubby or I have to take a shower. If we don’t do that, our little girl would question us why. And yes, I started it…ahahaha
4. I can’t do Number 2 in other places. I have to go home to do it.
5. When my hubby leaves for work every morning, I have a whole ritual that I do before he can get in his car to drive away. What ritual? It’s for me to know and for you to guess….hehe. Actually, nothing x-rated....I just have to shower him with kisses all over his face in and out the door.
6. Back when I was in high school and college, I was the 'go to' girl when my friends [male and female] were having a fight with their significant others. I seem to have that effect on them like I can 'fix' their problem.
7. Before I sleep at night, I have to kiss, smell and hug my little girl even if it’s at 2 AM. I sometimes wake her up but she doesn’t mind, we even talk a little when my hug or kiss wakes her up.

Plan a Get-Away with Easy To Book...
Everybody needs to go on a vacation every once in a while. You know, the one where you go and kick back a little while enjoying the view or the ride as well as the food. No planning for dinner, no laundry to think about and most of, no house to clean. A vacation should be stress-free so should planning for one. It amazes me how stressful it is to plan a vacation. Personally, what is most stressing is finding a good place to stay while on a vacation. Thankfully I found a place that can help in finding some good hotels wherever in the world I go like maybe, some New York Hotels.
So now when the time comes that me and my family go in that one big family dream vacation in London, we know that we will be able to choose from a long list of hotels in London. With Easy to book, we wouldn’t have to stress out in finding the hotel that we can stay in. Isn't that amazing?Since I also have a lot of friends who go on vacation in and out of the US, I would be more than happy to tell them about Easy to book. Like a friend I have who goes to Rome regularly because she has a brother there. But she told me that she would rather look for hotels in Rome instead of bothering her brother for accommodations when she visits him especially now that she has family of her own.
So whenever you plan a get away, and you need to find hotels in Prague or hotels in Dublin or even in Barcelona, visit Easy to book right away. They have all the best hotels in there and they can help you plan out the vacation of your dreams.

TV Wall Bracket
Two major things had to be considered when we decided to move forward and hire a new builder to build our house… space and money. The new size of the new house is much smaller than the original one. Everything we chose for the original house should either be replaced or eliminated altogether. We had to choose smaller pieces of furniture or eliminate some things altogether like an armoire that we wanted for the big screen TV my husband is planning on getting. There’s just no space for it. We’re still planning on getting a plasma or an LCD TV although this time, we’re looking at tv wall bracket to hold it. Using this wall bracket is such a perfect choice because it does not take up as much space as a regular armoire.
As for the financial situation, we have to choose things which are considerably cheaper because of our tight budget. Good thing the LCD and/or plasma TV prices continue to go down. Not only that, if we stick to buying the armoire that we wanted, it would cost us around 2 thousand dollars. But the tv wall bracket price fits our budget so well. We don’t have to spend a fortune to get it. Since it occupies almost no space, we can choose the biggest screen TV we want.
We still have a long way to go with the new house. The builder just got the permit a few weeks ago. Hopefully, they will start the construction soon. For the meantime, I have to ask the husband to go visit dekomount and find the tv wall bracket to his liking. He already knows what TV he wants, by checking out the different wall brackets at dekomount, he may just change his mind as to how big he wants this TV to be.

Birth Announcements in Style....
I can honestly say that having our little girl in our lives is the best thing that has ever happened to us. No doubt about that. Everything she does just makes our heart swell every single time. It has been a very happy and fulfilling 5 years since the day she came to our lives. A lot had changed since the day we found out we were having a little bundle of joy. We were very excited about the pregnancy so we wanted our family to feel our excitement. So, we looked for some creative ways to do the baby announcements.
Both my family and my husband’s family live either across the country or outside the country. So we wanted to share the baby’s birth with them in a special way instead of just making a phone call and telling them about the birth. At first we wanted to buy some birth announcements to let them know but we didn’t have enough resources to do that. So we went online and checked some inexpensive ways to share the good news to our families and friends here and abroad. We came across a lot of different kinds of baby photo invitations while we were doing the search. They were all so cute and adorable that we were torn on which one to choose.
When the big day arrived, my husband and I decided to have some photo birth announcements made. They were fairly cheap so we were able to send them to all of our families without breaking the bank, so to speak. My family was particularly thrilled because it’s impossible for them to be present at our baby’s birth because they are in another country. But with the unique baby photo announcements we sent them, it seemed that they were also present at the birth of our little one.
If a you or a loved one is expecting a new addition in the family and you want a unique way of letting friends and family about it, visit Mozdex and see the different ways you can do it.

Add-on Pop ups...
Arrghh...I'm doing my usual rounds just now. Suddenly a pop up came up about a certain add-on. What did it do? It screwed up my browser of course so my browser had to close down for some kind of an error. I just hate that when it happens. I'm not even sure what brought it on. I had 2 windows open so I can hop faster...not! Oh well....I'll be visiting the others tomorrow.
You all have a good night and don't let the bed bugs bite...

Fast is Good....
There are some things in life that are best when they are slow and easy. Internet connection is NOT one of them. Slow internet connection is probably fine 10 years ago because it used to be very expensive to have a broadband. Not anymore. Cheap broadband is now available almost everywhere. There is just no reason to stick with dial up especially if it costs the same as broadband.
Aside from having super fast internet connection, Wi-Fi is the talk of the town now. If you get on with BT Broadband, Wi-Fi service is totally free. This means that anywhere you go around the world, it is possible that you can keep in touch with the rest of the world. You can check your email and surf the internet just like when you’re at home. Oh, did I say this all part of the cheap broadband you can get from BT Broadband? Yes it is. No extra charge or anything. It’s totally free.
So if you’re still stuck in the world of slow connection, get on the other side. For starter, check BT Broadband and check out their cheap broadband offers. I’m sure you will be amazed at what they have to offer.

GPS Insight at Your Service
One of the things that scare me about driving is finding my way around, well, aside from the driving itself, of course. I have never been good in directions so I am worried that I may get lost if I have to drive all on my own. I have been lost a couple of times so getting lost while I’m driving is a very big possibility for me. One of the things that somehow put my mind to rest is the invention of GPS and places like GPS Insight. Why? Because now I know that there is someone with me at all times.
GPS is not only beneficial to drivers like me who is not good with directions. I am going to need one for personal use but a lot of companies also use it to better their businesses and improve their services. A tracking device is a must to businesses that send out people to attend to their customers' needs so they can be sure that the employees they are sending out are doing their jobs and going where they’re supposed to go. My husband’s business does a lot of service calls. These service calls are very important to them because they can either make or break the relationship between the customer and the business. With the help of GPS and GPS Insight there will be no more labor paid when people aren’t really working. Let’s face it, not every employee is honest and would admit of taking side trips when they go out to do some service calls to customers.
Wherever you are, GPS Insight can help you because they provide services across the country. Here is an example of the many routes that GPS Insight can track.
This is what GPS Insight does best. Companies can now track their employees on service every couple of minutes if they want to. Not only can they track the vehicles location, GPS Insight can also keep track on a lot things with the company vehicles like fuel consumption and can tell if the vehicles are having some problems.Aside from cutting unnecessary spending brought about by employees who are not doing their jobs, companies can also make some fuel savings. With the skyrocketing gas prices this is probably one of the best thing that can happen to businesses. GPS Insight let the drivers have routing efficiency . They provide company drivers alternate routes in order to avoid traffic or roads which are under construction.
Putting together all the benefits of having a GPS, the fee of $1.50 - $2 a day per vehicle is relatively cheap. Paying a few of bucks a day to have a GPS surely defeats the hundreds of dollars being spent to inefficient employees and wasted gas. So if you have a company that does service calls, visit GPS Insight to see what they can do for you. See for yourself.
GPS is always trying to find ways to give the best service to their customers. They even have a place in their website where these latest improvements are being presented. Check it out to see what they have been doing.

Sweet Deals...
What can be more exciting than finding products that you’re looking for at a much reduced price? A lot of places claim that their product has the cheapest price only to find out after buying it that there’s a place that offers a cheaper price. So I am always on the look out for those places that offer price comparison on different products. At least I don’t have to spend my time going around trying to find the best deal on a product.
What kind of products, you may ask. Like MP3 players, and of course the one I’m planning on buying in the near future, a laptop. I just did a search on the laptop and it came up with different brands with price comparison, of course. Sweet. I clicked on the Toshiba laptop and it had a price there but what caught my attention is the note at the bottom where it asks me the amount I am willing to pay for that laptop. Why? So if it becomes available in the price I can afford, they are going to let me know. That is just so convenient.
Now I know where to go for my Christmas shopping, Save Buckets it is. At least I don’t have to visit about a dozen stores to find the gifts I’m looking for at a price I want.

Break Time...
I told the little one not to do anything yet since we'll be doing it tomorrow - meaning today. First I heard her telling Dad in a whisper " Dad, can I put the birds now?". I guess the birds were not the only she thought of putting on it. Why? This his how it looks like when I came out of the shower.
Does it look like she didn't do anything with the tree??? Not really. It's not done yet because the balls are still in the boxes and she's too scared to take them out afraid of breaking them. Anyway, I'll post a pic of our tree when it's all done.

Travel Time.....
It’s almost December. A lot of people are planning some life changing trips this coming month I’m sure. This coming month is probably one of the more famous, if not the most famous, months of the year for travelers. It seems that a lot places have something special to offer during this winter month.
I have not traveled much in my life. I am the type who would plan and plan any travel that I take. I don’t want to be caught by surprise especially when I’m in a foreign country. I even help my friends to research things they need when they want to travel simply because I’m always online. One friend of mine wants to visit her sister in Germany but she doesn’t want to bother her with accommodations because they’re both married now. She asked me to look for hotels in Berlin. So I did and gave her the things I found. I was curious why they want to go there in December. Well, it’s because of the Christmas markets. She says her sister would always mention it so it got the better of her and decided it to see for herself. So Berlin, here she comes. I’m sure that the list of hotels in Berlin that I gave her will be very handy.
As for me, I have plenty of places I want to visit when I get the chance to do that. One of the places is Austria. Why? The name of the country itself is captivating especially one of its city, Vienna. I’ve been doing some reading on this country and even if it’s just a small country, it’s very rich in culture. It would be nice to experience how the people in this country live. I would have to look for hotels in Vienna because I really want to see Vienna’s Glorious Ball Season. Now, I have no idea at first what this ball season is but upon reading more about it, it sounds really exciting. I may just tell my friends to widen her trip itinerary and go see Vienna as well. I would be willing to share with her the names of hotels in Vienna that I already found. I’m sure she’ll be thrilled.
Wow, just writing about these 2 places makes me want to go on a much needed vacation. My daughter would love to go to these places as well because of the snow, well aside from the exciting things we can do in both Berlin and Vienna. It's a good thing that finding affordable hotels won't be a headache now. She’s been wanting to see snow for the longest time now…hmm, maybe a trip to Berlin and Vienna would fulfill that dream of hers. Good idea, eh?

Picture Perfect...
I have always liked pictures. My friends even call me camera shy to taunt my love of pictures. It doesn’t have to be me in the pictures though. It can be anybody or just picture of mother nature. I am normally surrounded by pictures of friends and loved ones, especially when I started living far from them. I have albums and albums of pictures as well as pictures framed on the wall. I was probably one of those who got really excited when digital picture frames came out.
As a matter of fact, only a few days ago, my husband and I were talking about digital frames. I was asking him how they work. So he explained to me as always how they work. Well, I actually know how they work, I was just sending some hints his way in case he’s still wondering what to get me for Christmas. He’s always at a lost what to get me anyway so I thought I’d do him a favor and talk about this amazing invention. I just hope I got through him so I wouldn’t have to tell him again…but I will be more than willing to tell him again in case he still doesn’t get it.
I know that if I don’t get a digital picture frame for Christmas, I will still buy some for our new house. I’m sure they will look real nice on the walls. But these digital frames would surely make wonderful presents, won’t they? So go ahead and get some for those important people in your life. They will be thrilled to get them.

Is it Christmas yet???
I know it's not but I just can't help asking out loud. It seems that stores put out their Christmas stuff earlier and earlier. By the rate it's going, they will have Christman stuff as early as Valentine's day. Oh wait, some stores STILL have them out on Valentine's day. Oh well, I guess we just have to get used to it. In the Philippines, as soon as the 'ber' months start - September - some people start talking about Christmas already.
Anyway, here are a couple of 'chrismas things' our little one just got today. We even got a wreath just for her bedroom door...but that's for another entry...

A Great Gift to Your Loved Ones..
We just got back from the store to get some additional decorations for our Christmas tree. The store was quite packed with people trying to buy the same things and then some. There are a lot of items which can be given as gifts to family and friends. But most of the gifts are generic and common. I always try to look for something different. Something personalized like Photo Blankets. Yes, photo blankets.
Why not, right? It’s like giving a loved one something that they can remember you by…like seeing you or your kids even if you’re not there. Last year, I remember giving my husband a mug with our little girl’s picture on it. He was very happy to get it simply because no one has the same one. It’s the same with these Photo Blankets, they are so unique that family and friends would surely love them. Here's an example of these gorgeous photo blankets.
How I wish I knew about these Photo Blankets before. I wouldn't have a hard time thinking what to give the grandparents then. But hey, it's not too late, I can still get these for them this Christmas. How about you?

A Dream Tour.....
Back in 2001, a friend of mine got married in Belgium. I was supposed to attend her wedding but I also got married so I wasn’t able to do so. One of the plans we had then was to go to the UK to visit some places. Since I wasn’t able to do that then, I have some future plans to visit that country with my family.
The first place in my list is London. It seems like when somebody goes there, London is almost always part of the itinerary. Right now, I have a couple of friends who are in the UK and one of them is in London. If I am alone, I would probably just stay with this friend but since I will definitely have my family with me, I don’t think staying with her would be a good idea. So I would have to look up Hotels in London. I can’t even decide which place to visit in London but there’s a place there that I’m curious about – Nottting Hill. You may find this funny even unusual, but my reason for this is the movie Notting Hill. I may not see the exact same things in the movie but just knowing I’m in Notting Hill will probably be enough.
Next to my list is Birmingham…not the one in Alabama but in the UK as well. Of course we need to find Hotels in Birmingham that’s near the Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses. Our daughter loves any garden so I’m sure she will love the Botanical Gardens. As for me, I would like to see the Glasshouses. I did the virtual tour of the Glasshouses not too long ago and I’m hooked to them. So now I have to see them for real.
And last but not the least in my places to visit is Manchester. There are alot of Hotels in Manchester so research has to be done to find good deals. The hotel we will choose to stay in should be very affordable but accessible to all the good places that can be visited so the money saved in the hotels will not go to fares in order to visit these places. The one place in Manchester that I find interesting it the The Lowry. I've only seen it in pictures but I already feel like I would enjoy visiting it.
To make this UK dream trip a reality, it's important to be smart in finding good deals. What can be better than finding hotels at cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/United-Kingdom. Who knows, this dream may even come true as soon as next year.

London Jobs Available at Gumtree.com
I know quite a few people who really want to find jobs overseas. Be it in Asia, in the US or in the UK. How can I blame them when the money that can be made working abroad in a month is probably more than what they can make in their lifetime where they are at now? Unfortunately, not everyone who wants to work abroad can. I know a couple who were able to do it and both are now in London. But since they are foreigners there, finding jobs in London is not exactly easy for them.
Both these friends of mine are teachers, good teachers at that. But being good teachers where they’re from is not a guarantee of getting jobs in London, especially a teaching position. One even went as far as furthering her education in one London school as a requirement for her to be considered for a teaching position in London. She’s still there now but she’s still not teaching even if she took the necessary courses to land the job she wants. She’s happy though that she got the job that she has right now but she's still on a look out for her 'dream job'.
My other friend is not as lucky. I know she’s working at the moment but I’m not certain if she found the job she’s really wanting. If she hasn't, I know where to point her next time I talk to her…gumtree.com. This place has a wide variety of London jobs that my friend can choose from. Who knows, she may just find what she's looking for through gumtree and make her dream a reality.
So if you're thinking of trying it out in London, visit gumtree and see their job listings. You may just find something there that will bring you to one of the most talked about place in the world.
