Allergy Attack....

Image
NEED I SAY MORE????????????????????????????? All I've been doing the whole day today is S-N-E-E-Z-E!!! Blow my nose!!! Wipe it!!! Only to sneeze again! So I decided to take my allergy pills more than I should. The result?? I was drowsy half the time...and I was still sneezing after taking them! Still am actually... So my plan of being productive today?? It was just that: A PLAN! I am going to sign off here now and try to go to sleep early. The 2 extra hours I put in last night [to do some work] cost me a whole day of misery. So I won't be taking any chances tonight. I off to be ladies and gents. Thanks much for those who came by. I promise to visit you all tomorrow...unless my allergy has other plans. Hmp! Night y'all!

Tour on Bikes...

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One day, my family and I will go on Motorcycle Tours. Yep, you read that right, a tour on bikes. Why not, right? I have always loved riding on motorcycles especially when I was young since it’s the only moving vehicle that didn’t make me sick. I don’t know how to drive one yet but I am willing to learn. I may even learn driving a motorcycle before I learn to drive a car. So where did I get the idea of Motorcycle Tours ? Well, I got it from the husband of course. He is really big on motorcycles that everytime he sees one all he can say is that he’s going to have one some day. As a matter of fact, he just mentioned a while ago that he may get one in the near future as the price of gas is not showing sign of going down anytime soon. So he started browsing online and that’s when he mentioned about the Motorcycle Tours that Eaglerider offers. Some other offers Eaglerider has are One-Way Specials, Motorcycle Sales as well as Guided & Self-Drive Tours. A
Just Wanna' Say.....
Just leaving a short note here to wish one and all a great week! I hope it's going to be one productive week ahead of us! I'll be working today...I think, as it's long overdue. I planned on working during the weekend but I just dilly-dollied so I ended up trying to put in some hours last night as my last minute attempt to be productive. Bad me, eh? Boo hoo! As a result....my allergy is 'on' again! Ugh! I'm outta' here for now. Enjoy your day/evening guys. Cheers!
Are We Ready to Move...again?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To another state this time. Well not quite but North Carolina is a state that my husband wants to try out in the future. We are happy where we are right now but if the time comes that we can choose which state to move, North Carolina would be the one. The weather will be perfect for him and he said the job market is good for his industry. Aside from that, getting a NC health insurance would be easy because of getnchealthinsurance.com. That’s something to look forward to because finding a health insurance is very important to us since we have a small kid. Hey, moving again may not be a very bad idea after all.

Home Alone....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For a couple of hours anyway. The husband took the little one shopping, well mostly grocery shopping, because she wants a DVD and Dad does not know which one. I am not feeling well so I decided to stay behind. Right now I am here trying to catch up on some work and some household chores. We have no plan of going anywhere today so it's going to be one lazy Sunday for us. Not sure what the husband's plan is but I'm sure he has something planned. Our house is still one big empty space....LOL! Yep, we have not bought the furniture [living room and dining room stuff] yet because we can't seem to find what we want. We're not in a hurry thought since we're surviving without them. We have have been using our foldable tables and chairs and it's working out great. Maybe this week we'll find what we're looking for. In general, we're settled already as we're getting the sleep we need unlike the first few nights. The little o
Wardrobe Make-over
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I need a wardrobe make-over. Seriously! I have not bought any new clothes in years. I just realized this when I started packing for our move. Even my husband thinks that I need to buy some new clothes as well some undergarments. I have been looking online and I already came across some nice babydolls that I am thinking of buying. I just have to start getting serious about losing some unwanted pounds so I will have the courage to put them on.

Weekend...

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...again! As usual it's going to be a bit busy around here. I already did the vacuuming and I'm almost done with the laundry. Yay! I also sorted the boxes after boxes of toys in the little one's room. That alone almost took the whole morning. I am planning to do some work this afternoon. I have not done any 'paid work' since we moved in here. The work is not that much anyway so I chose to just do the things needed done here. But today, some was released so I'd probably do some. We'll see. The husband is outside finishing the mowing right now. After that he has to rake the cut grass as it's a lot...as in A LOT! He had to refuel his mower because he had to go around more than once to get all the grass. That's how tall the grass got and it's really thick. That's basically how our weekend will go...busy. I will be in and out of here again today. I did my hopping yesterday so I'd only be doing some hit backs today.
Bill Gates after Microsoft???
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So he stepped down today from his job at Microsoft. Aside from doing philanthropy, what will he do? Yes, he has a lot of money but can he use that money to do anything he wants? Here's a video I lifted from You Tube . It was made a while ago showing different alternatives that he can probably dabble in after his Microsoft stint....

Bill Gates...Jobless after Today?

Image
Yep, that Bill Gates. One of the richest in the world will be jobless by tomorrow. He is spending his last day at Microsoft today. Oh no, another jobless person! I wonder how he will spend his last day at work today. After today, he will focus his full attention to philanthropy. Anyway, I got this email from a friend yesterday. I also got this a long time but I think it's good time to post it now being today is his last day at 'work'. According to the email, he gave a speech at a high school and enumerated his: Gates' 11 Rules. Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world. Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it! Rule 2 : The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE

Calling it a D-A-Y!!!

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From a I am now a Sleepy Bee....zzzzzz! Since our business with the bank is done [for now], I am hoping that I will be back blogging in full force tomorrow. Well, maybe not in 'full force' but with a lot more force than today, eh? I still have a lot of other things to do but I'd be in the house most of the time so I can check in every now and then. Thanks to all who dropped by today. I hope you're having a great evening/day! When I wake up, it's going to be "TGIF" here already!
Aha! A World W/out Filipinos???
I got this news article as an email attachment. I also saw it in one of the blogs I visited at random. Not sure how accurate this article is but it's kinda' interesting to read and somehow see how 'other' nationals' perception of the Filipino people. Car Rental
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our car is 5 years old already…almost 6 actually. We haven't used it on long family trips as we don’t go on long drives. But that does not mean it’s not used for long trips at all. Just about a week ago, my husband and his partner went to Georgia and they took our car for that 10-hour trip. Unfortunately, after that trip my husband feels that our car is no longer the same. As a result, he is now thinking of getting a car rental whenever they have to drive for business purposes. I couldn’t agree more as it will give our car a break. I am actually on the lookout for some good deals on car rentals for their next travel…and I found some already. One of the best deals I found is this up to 50% discount on Luxury and Convertible car rentals at Advantage. Yep, convertible cars. I will make sure that next time my husband and his partner need a car to travel, I will tell them about Advantage. It’s a win-win situation for us. Our car will not be abused and t

Best Gift Ever...a Tag!

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tag from Dez of My Life in this Wonderful World . Thanks Dez... I have so many things to be thankful for in my life. Reading this story just made me realize that no matter what, we should be thankful for whatever is given to us. *** Start Here *** Friendly Rules: 1. Simply copy the inspirational story and in the end write down the lesson you have learned out from this. 2. Put your own blog name and link. Pass or tag this to your friends to inspire them. 3. Start copy from “Begin Copy” until “End Copy” to your blog. — The Best Gift Ever — A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how pr
Moving is Expensive...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wow…I am really tired! Today we went back to the old house to pick some other stuff like the riding mower the husband is using at this moment. We also picked up the other computer so when this one acts up, I have a spare...yay! Anyway, we didn’t pick up the computer table though as it’s hard to take apart. We just planning to buy a new one so I’m now busy looking for office furniture online. Aside from the table, we will also need a comfy chair for me as well as other things. Yep, more expenses in the works but what choice do we have, right? Such is life…expensive!

World Class Profession....a Tag!!

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've been a WAHM or work at home Mom for the last 6 years. But before I became one, I was in the teaching for more than 10 years so I consider that my main profession then. As soon as I became a Mom, being a mother became my main world class profession. Added to being a Mom, I also do some work at home jobs which include Coding, Subject Matter Expert and Online Scoring. So I am rolling it into one and just classify my 'world class profession' as a WAHM! A proud one at that! Got tagged by bb_anne of Myriad of Thoughts . Thanks Anne! INSTRUCTIONS 1. Copy and paste everything to a new post and Add your name next to your profession (or profession-to-be for undergrads) in the list. Make sure your name is linked to your blog/webbie. Tip: For easier capture of links, paste into your blog using the “Visual” (for WP) and Compose (for Blogger) modes (not Edit HMTL or HTML). 2. If your profession is not in the list then simply add it to the correct alph
10 Years Younger
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you asked me 10 or so years ago if I will ever go through any kind of a procedure to improve my looks, my answer would have been a big N-O! But that’s 10 years ago, which means I was 10 years younger and a few pounds lighter. Gravity was also my “friend” then. Today, I will definitely consider it if I can afford it. Why not? With the advancement of technology, going through these kinds of procedures are not as risky as it was a few years ago. One place that offers surgical procedures is the PARS Institute in California. This place offers facial procedures such as rhinoplasty, brow lift etc and body procedures such as breast enlargement San Dimas . San Dimas is just one of their branches as they also have branches in Beverly Hills, Orange County and Encino. So if you are contemplating about improving your looks to boost your self-esteem or just because, check the PARS Institute. They may just have what you’re looking for…to be 10 [or more] years you

Still A....

That's me!!! We've been busy with a lot of things since yesterday that I was only able to visit a few blogs. Actually, I only visited a few the whole week through! Soweee!!! Because of my being a busy bee, I can only squeeze in one post a day. I have not been doing any work [paid work that is] at all for the past few days which bites because we need the $$$ right now as we are having a higher mortgage [2 of them as the old house is still in the market..ugh!] We closed with the bank today for this new house. I'm not happy with the way it went but it's our best bet at the moment. A lot of things had happened between us and this bank that everything they do right now just rubs me the wrong way. We are weighing our options right now and will take it from there. I hope you're all having a great week...better than mine anyway. It's almost TGIF....yay!?! I guess it's a "Yay" for us because we are somehow 'getting on' with our lives after all the &

Triple P...is it Down?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hmm...not sure if it's me or my lappy or something else but is triple P's server down? I've been trying to access it but it's not loading. Earlier, it's server cannot be found. Now, the error: Domain Name Mismatch is coming up. What is that? Has there been a change while I was offline yesterday? But it was working fine this afternoon. Does anybody know the real deal here? I know of someone who couldn't access the site either so it may not be me after all....but who knows. I'm going to bed...
Forced Leave???
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's what happened yesterday...I was on forced-leave! Just like most forced-leave, it's an unpaid one. Hmmpp! What happened? The cord/plug on my laptop broke. Actually, it's been hanging by a thread [literally] but it only gave in yesterday...of all days. It's been like that for months but it didn't break while we were at the old house [where we have 2 more computers that I can use]. It broke when we got here...while the other computers are still in the old house so no spare to use! Great timing, eh? The husband was 4 hours away yesterday doing a service call so I called him. He said that we would have to get a replacement for the cord this weekend...WHAT?????? That's like forever...but what can I do? I just thought of convincing him to get the other computers from the other house but I didn't hold my breath on that. So how come I'm blogging now? Well, McGyver came over....I mean, came home...LOL. Yep, my very own McGyver opened u

Sleep Deprived....

Image
These 2 pictures are probably the best way to describe how I am feeling right now. Actually, it's how WE were feeling the whole day. Yep, we didn't get a good night sleep on our very first night here in our new home...all 3 of us. I expected that. I am usually 'namamahay' so I know I won't have a good night sleep for the first 3 or so nights here. I'm expecting the little one to be restless on her first few nights here as well. Last night she woke up and went to our bedroom...at 2 AM, twice. The first time she came in there she couldn't figure out which side of the bed I was on so she left because she didn't want to wake Daddy up...but she came back and very softly went: "Mom" and wait for me to get up...LOL. Since I was not really sleeping I heard her. Unbeknown to us, the husband was also awake. So today we were all tired. The husband went to work but left early since it's slow at work anyway. He went straight from work to Walmart to do t

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wheng of In Depth tagged me on this love-hate meme a long time ago. I almost forgot about it. Sorry Wheng ...just got a bit busy with the moving and all stress that comes with it. Anyway, better late than never, di ba? So here it is...Love&Hate Tag.... I think someone tagged me on this one before but it's been a while so I'm posting it again...actually, I'm not even sure if I was able to post it when I was first tagged. Let's Get-A-W-A-Y..!!!
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After our stressful move, all I can think about is going on a long well-deserved vacation with the family. Now that I think about it, I haven’t had a real vacation in years. The last vacation I had that I would call real vacation, you know the kind where you go visit places without following a schedule, was the one I took in Las Vegas years ago. Since that was my first trip to the US, my friends wanted to show me things I wouldn’t normally see back home like the Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. It’s interesting seeing all those celebrities but not really…you know what I mean. The wax figures look so real it’s like meeting the real celebrities themselves. Right now, I am looking on online travel guides of Trusted Tours and Attractions to see if I can plan our much needed vacation as soon as possible. I don’t have anything particular in mind but it would have to somewhere near since I have to plan it around my husband’s work schedule. So our best bet right now wo

We Made It!!!!

Image
It was one tiring day...but we are H-O-M-E..!!!! We used a lot of 'timing' but we survived and we are spending our first night in our new home! The house is in chaos but we're here and that's all that matters...for now. The husband and the little one are both in lala land right now...and here I am in the blogesphere updating my blog. Ha! A true blue 'blogger' eh? I am actually sitting on the floor right now as I find my recliner uncomfortable....hehe. I will be signing off here for now. I just wanted to update everyone who so kindly asked how we're doing. I may not be able to take a peek here tomorrow as it's going to be one busy day for me. Thanks for the messages and comments and the visits of course. It's very much appreciated!

Still here...

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We just got back from the new house. We weren't able to move today as the rain is still going strong up until this moment. We waited until lunch time to see if we could do move but the weather is just too nasty to even think about moving. We still went there to do some cleaning as it's a bit dirty with all the deliveries that took place within the last few weeks. At least the house is now clean so I don't have to worry about cleaning it. The husband and I were both on the floor on all four scrubbing and wiping because we forgot to bring mops and brooms...yay! We also set up the little one's room. We got her the beddings so her room is ready to go. This will be her first big girl's bed so she's really excited. The bed she's using here at the old house is still the crib turned into a bed. I may use that as a day bed in the new house as it's kinda' comfy. Our house here right now is still in chaos as everything is taken o
Guess W-H-A-T???!!!????
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We're rained in!!! Yes, we woke up with rain, thunder and lightning this morning! What a good timing! We are ready to move and ready to get going, then this! RAIN!! Actually, the weather channel is saying that we are on 'strong thunderstorm warning' today! It's 10:42 and we are still in our pajamas. The husband is watching some History channel program while the little one is watching her Disney channel. Me? Ya know.... Today, we have a 60% chance of rain, and yes it's raining already. Tomorrow? The same! Not sure what time this rain will stop so that goes without saying that we are not sure as well what time we can start moving. Wahhh!!! Anyway, I just thought I'd check in here to put some kind of an update. I'm still 'uneasy' and worried. It's the weekend so we won't hear anything from the bank until Monday so I will be on edge until then...or even longer if we don't hear from them. Geez....it's lik

Freebies...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When we did the closing with the house not too long ago, we of course had to go to the main office of our builder. We signed papers and got the usual pep talk that the lady there has probably done a thousand times already if not more. After her well-prepared speech and after signing all the necessary papers, she handed us the first set of keys to our new house. Were we excited? Of course! But do you know what got me more excited? It’s when she handed us some promotional products which are part of the packet she had ready for us. Yep, those products like pens and night lights with their company logos made ma all excited. Ha! I don’t why but it seems that everything that’s free, no matter how little it is always make one happy. No wonder companies make sure to have them at every given chance. These promotional products, which are also known as 'freebies' definitely make their business more successful. I doubt that they are really 'free
DeaD TireD!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's how I feel at this very moment. I spent most of the day packing, thinking, deciding and worrying. It's like there is no end in sight! Right now the whole house here is a big mess as everything is all over the place. Some are boxed already some, not yet. The same is true in the new house as some boxes were already transfered there within the week. So tomorrow, I will be moving out of a messy house only to move in to another messy house! I emptied our closets already and cleaned the bathrooms as well. The pantry is still packed but the dishes are boxed. Just thinking of what needs to be done tomorrow is making me feel tired already. I'm not sure how many trips we have to make to at least move half of our stuff by tomorrow but it will probably take at least 5. Sigh... And to add to it all, we seemed to have hit some kind of a 'snag' with the bank. I don't feel like talking about it as I just feel a bit depress everytime I t

Tired....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's me right now...tired, very tired. It seems that I'm about to fall asleep while typing this. I still have a lot of things to box but I'm not doing it now. I ran out of boxes anyway so I have to wait until I have the boxes I need before I can continue packing, right? I still have these really big boxes, 2 of them actually, but I don't know what to put in them. I can put heavy stuff in them but they will be very heavy to lift. Since it's only the husband lifting them, I'm afraid that he will strain his back lifting very heavy boxes...so no heavy stuff in them. I didn't move much when I was still living in the Philippines and when I did, help was always there. Same was true when I was in Taiwan, we always had help [friends] to help us move our stuff when we moved apartments. Here? You have to PAY big bucks to have help. We can probably do that, but why pay when you can do it yourself, right? Kuripot, ba? LOL! Tomorrow will be b
For a Busy WAHM like me....
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It’s been more than 5 years since I started being a WAHM. It’s been a good experience but a busy one at that. During the peak season, I juggle as many as 6 jobs and/or assignments at one time. Yep, it can get that busy. So when I decided to have my own domain for my blog, I didn’t really have the time to search, compare and select for my webhosting. It turns out, I really don’t have to do all that as there is a place like Web Hosting Geeks that does all that for me. It does independent reviews of different webhosting providers out there. If you are one busy mom like me, WAHM or not, this place should be your first stop when looking for a webhosting service. Visit Web Hosting Geeks, there is nothing to lose and so much to gain.

Interesting....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've had a lot of interesting conversations with our little one. I probably should start a blog about it but I'm not sure where to get the time to actually attend to a 4th blog...yep, 4th. I have a 3rd one that I use to experiment with but it also has some chronicles on it. Anyway, this particular conversation happened in the bathroom while she's having a bath a few nights ago. A background first on how this conversation came about. Up until a few months ago, I used to stay with her in her bedroom at bedtime until she would fall asleep. I decided to put a stop to that. I told her that with the 'move', she needed to get used going to sleep on her own. It was a struggle at first but she got used to it..somehow. The routine now is: I tuck her in, kiss her goodnight then I leave her bedroom. It's not that simple though. The door has to be left open which means that she can hear every little noise around the house. A lot of times she wo
Midweek.....again??
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I know it's bound to happen...but it's midweek again? It's like days are flying by so fast I can hardly keep up anymore. So what do you have planned for the day or maybe the rest of the week??? Us here? We are getting into full gear...yep, we are planning in moving in this weekend! Unless mother nature has another plan like raining us down. The husband has been taking boxes with him in the car so he can drop them off in the new house before heading back home at night. At least we can get rid of the smaller stuff and only worry about the big stuff on the weekend moving. I have to get my bee-hind off this chair and start putting the other stuff in the kitchen for the husband to load in the car tonight. See you all later!

Sparkle Friends...a Tag!

Yep, tag time! This time it's a wonderful poem that Hailey of Beats and Bits passed on to me. Thanks much Hailey ! Since I consider all of you as my 'friends'...please feel free to grab this one. Let me know when you post it in your blog so I can take a peek.

Link List Revamp...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, more like 'link list merging' . I am not deleting any links, I am just trying, yes trying, in putting my blogger links in one place - the Dropdown - My Blogger Friends . I decided to make to "Blogger Friends" list because the first one is getting really long. So opted for the dropdown kind as it's a space saver. But it's kinda' confusing to those who I just recently exchanged links with. I think the other 'link list' is overlooked so some don't see their links as they are looking at the original link list I have. So to lessen the confusion, I decided to do the so-called 'merging'. I will put everyone's name in the dropdown list. IF you don't see your name in the dropdown list, PLEASE let me know so I can add your name immediately . You can leave me a message in the tag board or better still, a comment in my latest entry so it won't get deleted since a CBox message is only good for a cou
Getting Ready for Halloween...
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It’s only the middle of June but can you believe that as early as last month, our little girl here has been talking about the holiday seasons? Actually, it’s probably much earlier than that since I remember blogging about it in March or April when she suddenly blurted out that she already made her list for Santa. Yesterday, she started talking about it again so I reminded her that there are other things coming up before Christmas like Independence Day and Halloween. Well, that got her attention. Now she’s been talking non-stop about halloween costumes . Sometimes I don’t know if I should be reminding her of these things as she wouldn’t stop until we find the costume that she can wear for Halloween. So on with the hunt. Last year she was one of the Disney characters but this year she really does not know what she wants to be so we will keep on searching until we find it. As I was doing some online searching, I started thinking that maybe this year I ca

New Blog Links...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I thought I'd post about the other "My Blogger Friends" list on the sidebar. The first list has become quite long that I decided to make another one. The second LIST is a dropdown because of space issues. So if you are NEW in my list or has a new blog, you will find it in the D-R-O-P-D-O-W-N list . I normally add your blog in list right away as soon as I see the request for an exchange link. The Dropdown My Blogger Friends is very easy to miss that's why I decided to make this entry. I will also try to alphabetize that list as soon as I get the chance so please bear with me. Thanks much. I appreciate all your request for a link exchange!
Life Before Computers...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An application was for employment A program was a TV show A cursor used profanity A keyboard was a piano! Memory was something that you lost with age A CD was a bank account And if you had a 3 1/2 inch floppy You hoped nobody found out! Compress was something you did to garbage Not something you did to a file And if you unzipped anything in public You'd be in jail for awhile! Log on was adding wood to a fire Hard drive was a long trip on the road A mouse pad was where a mouse lived And a backup happened to your commode! Cut - you did with a pocket knife Paste you did with glue A web was a spider's home And a virus was the flu!

Late Night Post....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sigh...It's now 10:35 PM and the husband just got back from a road trip again. Yep, after that grueling 12+ hour trip to Georgia last Friday, they had to do another one today. He drove as our car was the one used for the trip... again...sigh! This time it's in one of the cities here but it's still a 4-hr drive. I feel bad for him as his migraine was pretty much 'on' during the weekend. He said last night that if he's feeling that cr**py today then he would skip this one. But knowing him, I just knew that he would go on this one today and he did. He would have been home much earlier if they didn't have to wait on so many people to do their jobs. They were almost done at lunchtime and was only waiting for the other workers at the site to do their thing so hubby and his partner can finish up. But nope, the 3PM departure they anticipated didn't happen until around 6 PM because of this "waiting game". Oh well...that
S--L--O--W!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm talking about our little one! She moves sooooo sllllooooowwww in the morning. I get tired just waiting for her to finish her morning rituals. Right now she's there and she's been there for ages. Believe it or not, it takes her approximately 30 minutes to finish her business in the bathroom. She only does 3 things there - pee, brush her teeth and change her clothes! Just three! I still do the combing of her hair because it's really long. She can't manage it yet. Here's a shot of her hair from the back...see how long it is?? I can only imagine if she has to comb it herself. She'll probably be in the bathroom the whole day.

It's Time...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been thinking of starting a blog using Wordpress. This is because evertime I visit my blogger friends using Wordpress, I can’t help but notice that some of them have really cool templates. And from what I’ve been reading, it seems it’s easier to maintain a Wordpress blog as compared to other account powered blogs. Now, that’s what I want, a blog that’s easier to maintain because as a WAHM or a work-at-home-mom, I juggle more than one job, plus my blogging and my being a mother and a wife. Now that I may have found the best wordpress themes , my desire to have a blog using wordpress has just gotten stronger. Who knows, I may even be able to change the template everytime I feel like it. And with all the cool templates I found at Top WP Templates and the easy step by step installation they have, I am convinced I can actually pull it off. So yes, it's time for me to have a wordpress powered blog!
Happy Father's Day!!!!
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To all the fathers and grandfathers out there, I hope you enjoy the day doing whatever makes you happy...with Mom's permission of course...LOL! Kidding! Our "Big Daddy" here has been suffering from headache/migraine as a result of the long driving he did last Friday...from here to Georgia and back! So his Father's Day started a bit later as we let him sleep in. The little one was really anxious to greet her Dad happy Father's Day that she kept waking up...and waking me up. I had to tell her that Dad's migraine is bugging him so we have to wait a bit longer. She understood and waited patiently. As soon as Dad got out of the bedroom, she just burst into her "Happy Father's Day" routine. Here are the things she had ready for Dad. A handmade card! Her personalized 'scrapbook'. Her "I heart Daddy" frame...with her scribbles, of course. And here are my Pride and Joy! That's how our FD 2008 sta

Pink Ribbon Month - for Breast Cancer Survivors

Image
Malou of big & huggable tagged me on this one. It's a worthy cause because it helps to spread the awareness on the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ month of June. • The first sign of breast cancer usually shows up on a woman's mammogram before it can be felt or any other symptoms are present. • Risks for breast cancer include a family history, atypical hyperplasia, delaying pregnancy until after age 30 or never becoming pregnant, early menstruation (before age 12), late menopause (after age 55), current use or use in the last ten years of oral contraceptives, and daily consumption of alcohol. • Early detection of breast cancer, through monthly breast self-exam and particularly yearly mammography after age 40, offers the best chance for survival. • Ninety-six percent of women who find and treat breast cancer early will be cancer-free after five years. • Over eighty percent of breast lumps are not cancerous, but benign such as fibrocystic breast disease. • Y ou are never too y

Our Poor Car...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My husband went on a company trip to Georgia with his partner last Friday. He drove our car on that trip. That’s more than 10 hours of driving! Unfortunately, the trip didn’t do our car any good. Yesterday while we were out driving he felt that something was wrong with the car. Oh no! Now he’s thinking that he may need to look for some car parts as he thinks that the car needs some work done as soon as possible. I am hoping that nothing major has to be fixed. If so, his company HAS to pay for whatever needs fixing. But I am still crossing my fingers that the car is fine.
Our Day...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...went by fast. We moved some stuff...the boxes I had sitting on the kitchen floor. So I can now see some parts of the kitchen floor here. After hanging around the house, we went to the furniture store that the husband visited last week. That's what he does. He would go to stores if he's not too busy and look around. Last Wednesday, I think, he went to this furniture store near his work. The store sells Broyhill, Bassett, and some other furniture brands that I can't recall right now. He saw a dining set and a living room set he likes. He told the lady assisting him that he would have to bring me down there to get my approval. Well, the lady was not very happy with that because she wanted to make the sale right there and then. Why? Because she was going on a vacation and was afraid that she won't be there when we come back for a visit. So she told the husband that and asked him if he could wait until she comes back from her break...

Daddy's Corner Part II...

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This will be my second post about Father's Day! My first one was part of the Tag: Daddy's Corner and it was for the husband A.K.A. the Father of my Little One. This time it's for My father! This is my Father! - He's the man who so patiently taught me how to commute to my college by staying with me during the first few weeks of my college life in Manila. - He's the man who visited me in my dorm at least once a week for 4 years...without fail! - He's the man who made me believe that I can do it even I didn't think I could. - He's the man who I look up to even if he's not perfect. He is my father, the man who I still miss everyday eversince he left us in 2000. Happy Father's Day, Tang! Love, Na^
