Saturday Binging....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's what we're doing right now. Grocery shopping was last night and for the life of me I don't know why I put so much junk food in the list. Chips, dips and some other food we don't usually get. Our breakfast was the usual pancakes and syrup with coffee for the husband, milk for the little one and hot cocoa for the mommy. Good, right? Well, that's the end of being good. Our lunch is another story. I made some spinach dip after breakfast. What's on the dip aside from spinach? Loads of mayonnaise, sour cream, guacamole mix & vegetable mix with a can of water chestnuts. We put the dip on slices of pumpernickel bread and on the side, we had chocolate banana smoothie! That's lunch! For dinner, I am planning in cooking some buffalo wings and pizza. Yep, more fattening food. And I'm not even listing here what we eat in between meals. If I keep on going like this, I may have to start taking Lipovox to help me curb some of th
Friday Tag....
In my quest to finish posting the tags I was given, I am posting another one. This time it's from Jona . She actually gave me another one which is the Fabulous Award but since I posted that one 2x here already, I opted not to post it anymore. Nonetheless, thanks much for the thought Jona . It's very much appreciated. The temperature here right now is in the mid 50s . It's still comfortable inside the house since we have the heater at 75F. I am in my shirt & shorts of course. According to the local news here, we're expecting a cold front soon so I'd probably be in my jammies through the weekend! Sweet!
Superbowl Sunday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It looks like the weather here will be cooperating for the Superbowl XLIII which will be held this Sunday in Tampa, Florida. It rained almost the whole day yesterday and also this morning but it stopped now and Mr. Sun is out. I'm sure the local newscasters around the venue of the big game are back on the rooftop of their stations after a day of staying indoors. Anyway, our local team is not playing so we are not rooting for a particular team. May the better team wins...that's our motto right now. The husband is the only one who will be glued on the TV set as I don't watch the game in its entirety. I just glimpse every now and then especially during the Superbowl commercials. Most of them are really funny. I wonder if there will be a commercial about adult diapers this time around. They had a baby in last year's ads so why not have something that involves the oldies this time, eh? With or without babies or oldies ads, I'm sure there

Rain...rain...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ... go away, come again another day! Talk about a downer. It's raining here right now! Just what I need to perk me up and get moving, eh? After days of temperature in the 70s, we're now in the 60s. Not bad....if it's not raining! Here I am still in my sleeping 'sexy' attire of long jammies & robe! Not! I'm typing away hoping to get some things accomplished before the day is over. I have a lot of things to do actually and I'm slowly...really slowly getting them done one at a time. With the rate I'm going, I'll be done....by next week. Arrghh..... Anyway, enough of my lazy self....I hope you're having a great day! Let's hope I'll be able to turn mine into one....
Searching...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...for the right gift! Everytime. When I give gifts I don't want to just pick the first thing I see in the store [online or onsite]. It usually takes me numerous visits to finally decide which one I would like to give...even to my husband...especially to my husband actually. Before we went out last weekend to look for a gift for our 1-year old niece, we called my sister in law to ask is there's anything specific we should get. The birthday girl is a year old so we thought the grandmother will be able to help. Nope. She just said anything! Ummm...yeah, thanks. But what could a 1-year old need? One thing for sure...diapers. But we're not getting her diapers of course. Off we went to the store. We went through the toy sections. We found a couple and we got them but we're not satisfied. We're not going out this weekend as the forecast is not good weather-wise...beside, it's the Superbowl weekend! So no shopping spree can be scheduled. As the day

Some of the Overdue Tags....

Like I mentioned in my post the other day, I have some overdue tags that were handed to me by my blogger friends. I tried to locate them and I did....some anyway. The 2 blog awards up top were from Cecil, Lynn & Blue ....thanks guys! I appreciate the thought. I'm still struggling here with 'lazyness'....so I'll keep this short and sweet.

L-A-Z-Y!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That about sums up how I've been feeling [and how I've been actually] this week. I've been dragging my feet every step of the way. I still do my usual chores but other than that, I just don't have the motivation. I've been reserving opps here and there only to let them expire on me. I think I took one opp about 5 times and never really got down into writing about it. Sigh.... Right now I am having dinner [spam & rice] while writing this. The father and daughter are taking their showers and I'm just here sitting waiting for the little one to finish hers. She usually finishes last....because she's sooooo sloooowwww..... Anyway, I better get off here. I think she's almost done...
Finding 'that' ONE....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I taught in only 2 different schools when I was still working as a teacher. In both schools, I had several co-teachers who were unattached. Come to think of it, a lot of those co-teachers are still unattached up to this day. It seems to be a norm among teachers to stay single for life and if not, get hitched at a much later age. Why? Well, some say it’s because teachers don’t have the time to go out and find ‘love’. I can believe that but I also believe that if there’s a will, there’s a way . Nowadays, it seems that the internet is "the way" for most to find love and that’s true not only for teachers. I met my husband online. That was more than 7 years ago and site I met him does not cater to a specific kind of audience…only to those who are ‘looking’. So it’s like a ‘hit or miss’ in terms of meeting someone with the same interest as you. Today though, there are sites that are around specifically started for people with the same line of interes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LOLOL!!! I just saw these pictures. Again, I couldn't resist myself from grabbing them from the Just Jared website to post them here. How cute is baby Knox with a hint of mustache [with teeth to boot...hahaha] just like his dad....LOL! And those aviator glasses are just adorable.... His picture is obviously photoshopped but it's cute nonetheless....I just had to post them here... again.... Photos from Just Jared
Positive Influence
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Earlier this week, I was watching a show where Amy Poehler, an alum of Saturday Night Live was a guest. She was promoting a show at Cozmo TV called Smart Girls at the Party. I got curious because she said that this show is all about young girls being themselves. She said that the show’s aim is to be a positive influence to all the young girls out there. That is enough to make me visit the site and true enough, this showcases young girls with their unique talents. The particular video I watched if of the 12-year old girl who does what she calls ‘praise dancing’ and is a member of a Steel Orchestra. She’s not afraid to veer from the norm to be herself and that to me is admirable. When my little one is old enough, I will let her see this show for herself because I want her to get all the positive influences she can possible get. Smart Girls at the Party is only one of the many shows at Cozmo TV. You can choose from the different shows they have by using th

Overdue Tags...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have a few tags that I have yet to do. I'll try to post them here as soon as I find them. Yep, I can't locate them anymore. I probably have 4 or 5 tags floating around somewhere but I can't locate them anymore....LOL. I'll look for them tomorrow. I'm sure I'll find them once I go around looking for them...hehehe... Anyway, I've had a not so productive today...work wise of course. I did the usual chores and did some blogging but that's about it. The weather here is very pleasant the last few days. Lowest are in the 50s and highest are in the 70s since Monday. It will be in the 30s towards the end of the week but that's a couple days to go. Hopefully it doesn't rain because I'm planning in doing some weeding tomorrow if work does not pick up.... Time to call it a day....thanks for dropping by today. PS...I'll try to do the tags soon...as soon as I find them of course...
Something Durable & Affordable...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the husband and his partner started their small business about 2 years ago, they wanted to have a shirt that will carry their logo. Due to some budget constraints then, my husband took matters into his own hands and bought a couple of shirts and ‘ironed’ the logo he printed on his computer on those shirts. Voila…instant company shirts. The shirts are history now and lasted only a few months. Since they now have some budget, they are looking at getting some embroidered products like hats and shirts they can use for themselves and their reps in different states. They are looking for a place that offers affordable packages and one that does not require minimum quantities since they don’t want to order more than they need. I guess Threadsmith will be perfect for them then. Aside from being affordable and not requiring set up fees, it’s easy to upload logos and designs in their site that even I can probably do it! Finally, something more presentable t

Aren't they cute?? They're the Jolie-Pitt kids and I just couldn't get my eyes off them! I've been staring at them since I saw them in the different online magazines...so I thought of posting their pics here so I won't go back to the sites numerous times....hehe... Pics from Just Jared

Wish Granted!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For the little one. One of the items in her Christmas list last year was a rotary phone . We didn't find one that's reasonably priced so we just got her one that has a dial that looks like it's a rotary but it's actually a push button one for $50+ . She liked it just because it's purple...her favorite color. Today we went out...guess what we saw at the store...this one!!! The exact same toy phone I was 'contemplating' of getting when we couldn't find what we were looking for. She wanted it as soon as she saw it so we got it.....for $5.97 ! I knew we should have just gotten her this one....
TGIF?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My new laptop broke and I had allergy attack the whole day. That's how my Friday went. Yep, my spankin' new laptop that the husband gave me for Christmas is broken. The bulb for the monitor is dead. I guess it just went out while I was sleeping because it was working fine when I shut if off Thursday evening. When I turned it on Friday morning, it's all dark. I can still what's on the screen but it was too dark to actually read anything. The husband had to point a flashlight on it so he could see what's on the screen. So it's going back to the seller and I'm back to my old laptop. Added to that, I had allergy attack the whole day. I was sneezing non-stop and my eyes were watery. All I wanted to do was sleep which I couldn't do because I had to finish some things. So, is it a TGIF for me then? I guess. Friday is before the weekend so that means hubby will be home...and that's enough reason to say TGIF. Anyway, after days of

Books Wanted

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For the Little One . Just before the holiday season, I got her the The Magic Tree House Boxed Set which bas books 1 - 28. I asked her to read 1 book a day. They are paperbacks and each book has an average of 60 pages only so it's manageable. Needless to say, she already finished all of the 28 books . I am planning in asking her to re-read them and discuss each with her. The books are educational. One book is all about thanksgiving and how it all started, one book is about the Civil War while another one is about the Revolutionary War . I believe there are more Magic Tree House books so I've been looking for the best deals on them...in set if possible as they're much cheaper that way. Anyway, I was asked by Wena what age the little one started reading. I'm not sure what age exactly but I remember taking a picture of her when she finished reading her first 'real book'. .. Dick & Jane . It was September 8, 2005 so she was
LeapFish...a Major Leap in Searching...
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A set of encyclopedia. That was my biggest wish when I was still grade school, high school up to college. I envied those kids who had their own set at home and didn’t have to stay late in school to do some research. My wish was never granted so I spent countless hours in libraries to finish book reports, thesis and research papers. I told myself that when I start working and can afford it, I will buy me a set of encyclopedia to compensate for the hardship I went through just to finish my book reports. Little did I know that I didn’t have to because the internet will be invented down the road. Today when we need to research on something, all we have to do is to turn on the computer and do a search using search engines. With just the click of the mouse, we can get thousands of results to a single search. The only question now when we need to search for something is: Which search engine should I use? How about LeapFish ? It’s the latest in online search

A Nice Gesture...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm talking about the letter that the Bush twins - Jenna & Barbara - gave the latest First Kids , Sasha and Malia. In the letter, they offer the little girls pieces of advice since they've been there, done that...twice. The twins told the Obama girls that they should enjoy their time at the White House and be as normal as possible. Here's an excerpt of the letter : _Surround yourselves with loyal friends. _Trick-or-treat down the plane aisle if you're traveling on Halloween . _Cherish your pets "because sometimes you'll need the quiet comfort that only animals can provide." _And this: "Slide down the banister of the solarium, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and play Sardines on the White House lawn . Have fun and enjoy your childhood in such a magical place to live and play." Isn't that a nice gesture?
Selling a House....
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ... is no walk in the park. It’s been 6 months since we moved into our new house. It’s still a very much work in progress but we’re getting there slowly but surely. We try to buy stuff as our budget allows. We don’t want to get into any kind of debt just to fill our house with things that can wait anyway. It would have been a great help if our other house sells already since the mortgage we pay for that one can go towards the things we still need for this house. At first we tried to do the “For Sale by Owner” route but when we moved out and the husband got busy with work, we decided to ask a realtor to do it for us. We signed a 6-month contract with them. After a month or so, someone wanted to buy it. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out because he had some problems with his financing. Our contract with the realtor is about to expire already and we haven’t heard anything from them. I’m sure that the realtors know what they’re doing but maybe I tell the husband to

... and these are the 'most attended fruits' tonight here in the Bay Area.... strawberries . They are almost at their peak so the owners of the different strawberry farms around here are pulling all-nighters since last night. According to the weather people here, it will be another cold night/early morning here dipping as low as the high teens. Wow ...that must the coldest we've had here since I came here. Thank goodness I don't have to brave the cold weather tomorrow to go to work. I'd probably be calling in sick....err...cold...hehe... Photo courtesy of TBO.com

My Little Bookworm

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Last Friday, the little one finished the last of the 28 books we got her before Christmas. It’s a series about a brother and sister who travel in time to witness history first hand and take part in it. She enjoyed the books mainly because of the characters and the adventures they go through. So now I am on a hunt for another book or books that may be interesting to her [and me]. And I may have found one that she will love. It’s a book written by Victoria Simcox and it’s called The Magic Warble . The book is all about a little girl’s adventure with fairies, dwarfs and talking animals and her mission of releasing the land of Bernovem from the evil queen. Juvenile fiction books are her interest right now and this book will definitely be a hit to her. But I’ll be honest here, I think I will be reading this book before the little one gets her little hands on it.
Triple Threat....
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ... I meant "Triple Awards!!"..LOL. Thanks to Jane of Challenges of Life for handing this to me. I actually got this one already and posted it over the weekend but since it's given by another blogger, I posting it gain. I off to start making dinner already since it's 4:20 here now. I'm making the turkey burger with some soup....

Waiting Game Continues

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As far as work goes. It doesn't look like there's going to be work today so I better start thinking about dinner, well, what to make for dinner that is. It's been cold but I can't think of anything I can make but soup when it's cold...not enough for the big Daddy here since he also takes to lunch whatever we have for dinner. I have some ground turkey in the fridge so I may just make some turkey burgers. Guess what I had for lunch? Strawberry smoothie and some potato rolls. With the cold temperature here, the little one asked for some smoothie believe it or not so I made some. Since I had no idea what to eat for lunch, I decided to make that my lunch. I'm not on diet or anything but it will be nice if I lose about 5 pounds this year. I am not overweight but my belly is poking out when it's not supposed to. You know what's poking out as well? A pimple on the lower right part of my face, by my jaw. I have not had a zit in years
Waiting....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...to see what this day brings. It's been a week of doing nothing so I am crossing everything I can hoping this day will bring in work....and lots of it. I woke up to a very cold day. I first felt the freezing temperature when hubby left for work. The current temperature is in the 30s but I'm hoping that it will go up to the 70s later so I can do some weeding outside... Anyway, I got a couple of tags to post. One is from E ds of Just Me...eDs while the other one is from K aye of Random Wahm Thoughts ...thanks ladies. ...from Eds ...I'm supposed to list 5 of my addictions....hmmm....I don't think I have any actually but I have some things I *really* like...chocolates, cakes, laptop, blogging...that's it I guess. from Kaye ...I'm supposed to list 6 things about me . Since I just did a post on that yesterday, I'm going to put a twist on this one and list 6 unforgettable things that happened to me throughout the years....how's that? 1.

LeapFish

Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The past couple of weeks have been really lazy for me. If I didn’t have the little chatterbox with me the whole day, I would probably go nuts doing nothing. Well, maybe not since I have the internet and the TV. Anyway, since I have not been doing much, work-wise that is, I spent majority of my time today making photo slides for a blog I started for my high school. I’ve been cutting, pasting and resizing the photos to make them identifiable and presentable. Most of the photos are old and I had to scan them so the results are not as good as digital pictures. Aside from that, I also did some surfing online for a lot of things. Come to think of it, there’s not a day when I’m online that I don’t actually search for something. This is why LeapFish will be for me when I do my normal online search. So what exactly is LeapFish? It’s a multi-dimensional search engine that does the search as soon as you type the first letter of the word or words you’re searching abou
Selling Online...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We know that if there's a place where you can find anything and everything on the face of the earth, it has to be ONLINE. This goes without saying that ANYBODY can sell ANYTHING online. Take this 22-year old for instance. She's actually selling her virginity online. According to the news, the bid has netted to $3.7 Million already. Why oh why would she do something like that? Is it for the money? the fame? or just for the heck of it. Whatever her reason is, I hope she does not fall prey to some wacko out there. But then again, if the news is accurate, I guess only a wacko would actually pay $3.7 Million for that, right? Whatever.... story here.

Moroccan Lanterns

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If it’s bustling with excitement in Washington DC today, the same can’t be said around here. It’s been anything but exciting. Work is slow so I’m just sitting on the couch surfing online. I want to do some weeding but it’s too cold to go outside. What I’ve been doing is thinking and taking notes of the things we still need for the house like lights in some parts of the house. I saw Moroccan lanterns online a few days ago so I may go back to the site and see if there’s something there that will go with our house that I like. Aside from the lights, we still need a corner curio for the living room. We’ve checked the stores around here but we couldn’t find the curio that the husband wants. He can be rather picky when it comes to things that will last us years. He wouldn’t settle for anything just because. Hopefully, he likes Moroccan lanterns so we can put a lantern by the front door already. I should probably bookmark the ones I like and show them to hi
Monday Morning Post...and a Tag!
Image
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Another week, another tag...ha! Weekend went by fast around here. Today is a national holiday but the husband is at work. They have some things to finish at work so they decided to come in today even if it's a holiday. Actually, they make their own holidays since they can choose their hours. I'm not complaining though since we've been together the whole weekend so today is just another work day. As for me...I got a bit busy during the weekend because work came in late Friday evening. I didn't start working until Saturday morning though because the software for work is not working in the new computer. We figured it out Saturday morning so I spent the rest of the weekend keying...working. Work is gone now so here I am blogging again. Umma passed this tag on to me...thanks Mommy! I'm not sure I can list 10 things that I have not listed here yet in the past but I'll try. Here we go....Honest Scrap! Honest Scrap Award Rules When accept

Maybe Next Time...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During the time when we were still planning of having a house built, it became our normal routine to go around checking out the different model homes around here. It was fun looking at different model houses from the not so expensive ones to the very expensive ones. The parts of the house that I would usually gravitate in were the bathrooms and the kitchens. I don’t know why but those two parts of the house seem to fascinate me. It was in one those trips to the model houses that I’ve seen these cool looking faucets which according to the person showing us the house are Grohe faucets. I made sure to take down note of that because I really like the faucets in the house. I was determined to have those faucets in the new house so I told our original builder about them and he agreed to use them. Unfortunately that builder’s promise fell through because he decided to file for bankruptcy taking our down payment with him. We weren’t able to use the fauce
Weekend Plans?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's the weekend once again. We're just taking it easy around here today. The little one woke me up as usual because she wanted to lay down beside me. I tried to go back to sleep but I normally couldn't sleep anymore after a certain time even if I turned in late the previous night. So the little one and I got up and left the Daddy in peace. We had breakfast and now we're all done with our morning rituals and we're here watching some music videos while waiting for the Dad to wake up. It's only on the weekend that he gets to sleep in late so we try not to bother him...try being the operative word here since the little chatterbox can hardly be quiet. We don't have anything planned except probably my driving. Yep, the husband asked me last night if I want to start learning today. Maybe. While waiting for him, I am hoping that some work will be released. It's been kinda' slow for the last few weeks so I can't wait until w

Hooked on Phonics....

From the diary of a Pre- School Teacher My five-year old students are learning to read. Yesterday one of them, Nichole pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said, "Look at this! It's a frickin' elephant!" I took a deep breath, then asked..."What did you call it?" "It's a frickin' elephant! It says so on the picture!" And so it does... " A f r i c a n Elephant " Hooked on phonics! Ain't it wonderful?

In need of A Header & Suitcases...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm on a hunt for a good header I can use. Not for this blog but for the blog I started for my high school batch in preparation for our silver jubilee late this year. The blog is my little contribution to our batch since I cannot be there to personally help with all the preparations. I tried to google blog headers but I can't find one that will fit the theme of the blog. Right now I'm just using the classic one that comes with the template. Anyway, my former classmates have been prodding [bugging?] me to attend the said reunion since it will be a once in a lifetime event...at least to us. I have not said yes or no yet because I really don't know if I can make it or not. I am hoping I'll be able to make it since that will be the first time I'll be going back home after being away for 8 years. If I decide to attend, I may have to buy a couple of Zero Halliburton suitcases since we only have a couple of suitcases right now. If ev
Eating Non-Stop....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What a lazy day I'm having today. I did all the major chores yesterday so I'm left with only few more minor ones like dusting here and there and a batch of laundry which is done already. I can go out and probably do some weeding in the backyard but it's way too cold to be doing that. So what am I doing instead? I'm sitting here on the bed munching on some chips and sweet stuff. That's what I end up doing everytime the weather is this cold...eat, eat and eat some more. I'm sure that if this continues I will need the the best diet pills out there to get rid of the pounds I'm putting on right now. And guess what? I'm making a grocery list now and all I can think of putting on it are more chips, chocolate and some other junk foods I like to eat when it's this cold. It's a good thing I don't do the grocery shopping or my cart will be overflowing of not so healthy but yummy foods.

Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger III

Image
He is the pilot that landed US Airways' Flight 1549 safely on the Hudson river in New York yesterday. All those who were on the plane came out alive of the ordeal. Thanks to him. He is now being hailed as a hero for doing what he did....and I couldn't agree more. As it turned out this hero used to be an ex-Air Force fighter pilot. I watched on TV as the passengers were being rescued yesterday but it's only today that I started reading the passengers account on what happened to them. I don't like traveling and flying is probably my least favorite mode of transportation. But if I have to fly, I wouldn't mind having Mr. Sullenberger as the pilot on the plane I'm on. Smart A** Answers of the Year 2008...

Someone forwarded this to me. Some of them are really funny so I thought I'd post them here to spread the giggles. I'm off to bed as I had a very busy day today. Thanks for coming by.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SMART A** ANSWER #6 It was mealtime during a flight o n Hooters Airline. 'Would you like dinner?' the flight attendant asked John. 'What are my choices?' John asked. 'Yes or no,' she replied. SMART A** ANSWER #5 -- A flight attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check tickets. As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he opened his trench coat and flashed her. Without missing a beat, she said, 'Sir, I need to see your ticket, not your stub.' S MART A** ANSWER #4 -- A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store but she couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy, 'Do these turkeys get any bigger?' The stock boy replied, 'No ma'am, they

Busy Day Ahead...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So what else is new, right? I have about 5 loads of laundry to do and a house to clean. It's cold here right now so my new career [aka raking & weeding] has been on hold since Monday. I have not set foot on the backyard since the start of the week because of this crazy weather. The little one is currently sulking in her bedroom [while reading her book for the day]. She ate a late breakfast and an hour later she's complaining of being hungry....again. How can that be? I told her to find what she wants to eat in a not so happy voice...now she's saying that she changed her mind. Hmmmm.....I know she's not hungry so I'm not really worried about her starving. Anyway, I better get off here and continue with my 'things to do list'....have a great day everyone!
Blog & Earn....
We had what I would call a perfect weather last week. It wasn’t too cold or too hot. I was able to stay outside to weed and rake and I didn’t feel that tired because of the pleasant weather. This week is a different story. It’s been raining and cold and I have not been out of the house since Monday, not even to get the mail. I cannot imagine how I’d be able to get out of bed if I am working out of the house…much less waking up the little one and getting her out of the door at a certain time so we could all make it to our destination on time. Thankfully, I am a work at home mom. It’s been more than 6 years since I started being a WAHM and it’s probably one of the best things that happened to me. I can work anytime I want and I can personally take care of the little one. I am even able to homeschool her for as long as I want to. This is the reason why I am so thankful about blog advertising . Through my blog I can generate some income and continue doing what I am doing. I love to be at h
I already posted this 'award' a few days ago. BUT...another blogger friend so kindly handed it to me [only?] yesterday with a very touching message in the post. Let me copy and paste her message for me.... ~~~~~~~0~~~~~~~ I'm passing this AWARD...a truly heartfelt one to someone who has been very nice to me in the blogosphere. In fact, she had been there for me, patiently answering questions when I was too busy to delve into the nitty-gritty involved in monetizing my blog. AND! Alcohol Rehab
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The preparation for my high school batch’s silver jubilee is in full swing right now. For a while, a couple of friends and I who are here in the states were starting to get nervous because we were not hearing anything from our former classmates back home. That all changed after the last reunion which was held December 30, 2008. I started getting emails right after that and it hasn’t stopped since then. With the emails came pictures of those who were in the reunion. I still recognize most of them but I had to email a friend to ask who the others are as I don’t recognize them anymore. Most of them are heavier now while a few are surprisingly thin. It turned out that a couple of them are not doing very well and are having some problems with addiction. It’s disheartening to learn about this since they were ones of the promising people in our class. I was told that one tried going to an alcohol rehab and was doing well until he lost a job. I guess pers

Emailing thru an iPod...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Call me technology challenged but I didn't know you can actually send and receive emails through an iPod. I thought it's only for listening/downloading music and that's it. That's what I get for thinking....hehehe. Anyway, the little one has been using her iPod a lot. Aside from doing a couple of games, she's also doing some educational stuff using it. But majority of the time, she uses it to email. Email who? The Daddy mostly. I think she emails him at least 4x a day. From good morning to jokes to what time are you coming home? She's the one checking on him instead of me.....isn't that cute? Oh and she emails me as well not that often since we're only 5 feet apart most of the time. Guess what she emails me? This.... I want to say I love you! That's all. Love, Erica. Premium Wordpress Themes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’ve been quite busy lately. Not with work, unfortunately, as it’s kinda’ slow at present. But that’s okay since I have some other things to do. We got a mail on Monday from the school board here letting us know that they are now reserving spots for homeschooled students for the FCAT exam. It’s a test required by the state and is given to students in Grade 3 through Grade 12. Technically, the little one is only in Grade 1 but she’d probably pass the test if we let her take it but we won’t. Not yet anyway. Regardless, I’m going through the items in the sample test to see what’s covered and I’m trying to cover the things we haven’t covered yet. Aside from that, I am also busy looking for a suitable template for the blog I started for my high school batch. Like I mentioned here before, we’re celebrating our 25th year and we’re hosting the grand alumni homecoming this December. It’s very much into a work in progress stage. The template I have right now i

Decisions...decisions...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few months ago, I noticed that my eyes were uneven. One was smaller than the other one. I freaked out thinking something serious was going on with my eyes. I didn’t feel any discomfort or anything like that. Before I made an appointment to the doctor, I decided to wear my glasses. I only wear my glasses on 2 occasions, when I have to ride a vehicle or when I have a headache. Bad me I know. Anyway, I wore my glasses the whole day the time I noticed my uneven eyes and what do you know, it fixed the situation. So have I started wearing my eyeglasses since then? Umm… not quite. This is because I get rashes on my ears and ears when I put them on for longer periods of time. I am planning in getting some contact lenses soon to avoid straining my eyes which cannot be avoided because I work on the computer. I’ve never worn contact lens in my life so this is all new to me. So I’ve been reading as much as I can about it before making a decision on whic
Passing Time...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Not much to do right here so that's what I'm doing, passing time. I got a couple of tags so let me do them now before I forget all about them...again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6th Folder / 6th picture Tag from Lynn The rules: 1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures. 2. Go to the 6th Folder and then pick the 6th Picture. 3. Post it on your blog and tell the story that goes with the picture. 4. Tag other glorious people to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog telling them about it. Since I am using my new computer, there are only 6 folders in the Picture Folder and guess what the 6th folder is? It's Sample Pictures...LOL. Since I am a law-abiding citizen...err...blogger, I am going to post the 6th picture in that folder. Pretty, eh? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A-Z Alphabet Tag from Madz Here's the tag (just simply choose): A - Attached or Single? - Attached B - Best Friend?
